    oh dear god i cant watch this.....a car that runs on sunlight alone ... omg great .. tell me more mr may.... what in the name of ceasars ghost are you showing me may... during the DAY there wasnt enough light to move it so you had to demo it running at NIGHT throwing enough power at it to run a mansion for a week, and only got up to 10 mph...foggy ole england couldnt even turn its wheels enough to demo it even in the slightest.. it may be great tech but "power to the people" it aint

    I still don't get, if you can power a car solely on solar energy, why do they not use solar panels to recharge electric cars? No stopping to recharge ever.

    • @macanfly
      @macanfly Рік тому

      if you had a solar array you could certainly power your electric car with it. But the size of solar panel able to fit on a car wouldn't produce enough energy to keep it charged and moving. the solar powered vehicles demonstrated in this video and elsewhere are extra light and extra aerodynamic to minimize the amount of energy required to move them. they are a fraction of the weight of a modern car. Also electric cars are much heavier than gas cars because of all the batteries. at one of my old jobs we used solar panels to keep the batteries charged on vehicles that didn't get driven very often though.

    Ceramic Nano Tint with its Infrered blocking technology, would certainly help those in that bubble of the vehicle. Some sort of ventilation wouldn't go a miss. Granted, I have not seen a more recent representation as of late.

    Wow. The space elevator sparked recall from 1978 or 79. Starting out in med field as an RT aide in a midwest hospital. For some forgotton reason I once visited one of the RTs at his modest home, a total mad scientist but "hampered" by a young family, job and real life. Built a working proto of the bimetallic sphere-in-twisting-mag-field model device and blew me away. Had some power feedback thingie that made it self-sustaining after triggering. Was going to revolutionize the world and I was half-convinced I'd have a "Yeah, I MET Einstein" type story. Guess not but appreciate the recall and ... HOLY WTF, I remember his name. GOOGLE!

    Nuclear Fission isn't nearly as dangerous as the media trys to make it seem. More people die from fossile fuel polution in one year alone than all people ever from Fission.

    It's unfortunate that people knew in the 1960's the seriousness of global warming, but because of how much control the oil companies had (and still do) they shot it down. If only people would have listened, we wouldn't be in this mess.

    The problem is not the elevator, it's the tether! There is not material strong enough to stretch to space, it would break under its own weight long before you made it to space. You would definitely not be able to put a payload on it. I believe they are focusing on the wrong problem.

    The dishonesty around Nuclear Fusion is concerning, in most mainstream documentaries it is described as being "clean" with "no waste" when it is neither. Designs like the Tokomak or Stellarator will produce thousands of tons of high level Nuclear Waste, not as a by product of the fuel and would come from the containment and shielding structure. Those Neutrons will irradiate the structure and convert the metals in them into Radioactive Isotopes over time, this is one of the reasons Nuclear Fission plants have set service lives because this weakens the alloys and its impractical to replace it. Tokomak/Stellarators are far more sensitive to this because the strength of the structure is critical and the density of the Neutron bombardment is greater, the structures of designs like ITER are immense and very heavy and whilst they may be more practical when it comes to replacing it rather than having to scrap the whole reactor it still means you have thousands of tons of high level Nuclear Waste to store or dispose of. I find these omissions and lies concerning because the Nuclear Power industry fully earned the public distrust and scepticism, some Nuclear Power Advocates act like they didn't and the public are just being irrational which is not true. Newer reactor designs are much safer but there was waste, leaks, accidents around all aspects of the industry and often got covered up or underwent a great deal of perception shaping. If/when people find out about the omissions and lies around certain Fusion Power designs then it will just focus the current mistrust onto them, it could stall development or adoption in the future.
