    Tpu tips You can change it feel by changing your print settings. Want a stiff heal, make it solid. So in your slicer use a modifier on the heal and change the infill percent to 100, 97 is what I use for solid. If your getting fancy you can cut your model up into different section and use those in an assembly to change sections of the print. So solid heal and 45% sole but 15% on side and top for flex. Also tpu in my experience bonds well with PLA so with your muti nozzles you can have a ridged structure built into your print kinda the same as before, cutting up the model but instead of changing print setting your changed materials.

    I'm glad you made a big deal about getting fed up with it all when it wasn't working. Showing my daughter that failing is an essential part of the process is starting to make sense to her. And she holds you in such high esteem that I reckon she thinks you never make mistakes!

    Check ur protection against toxic invisible gases cuz when pla (or other poly materials) are melted this will cause long terms lungs problems, skin irritation also mouth dryness and etc… 😢

    Oh my word, this was a fantastic journey! Glad you achieved your dream in the end. Was a bit worried the rod might poke into your heal but you prevented that with Araldite. My favourite bit…brushing Barbie’s hair with a wire brush! 🤣

  • @ADBBuild
    @ADBBuild Місяць тому

    Excellent work. I was thinking for the metal rods, you could model in a hollow space, then put a pause in the print to allow you to insert a metal rod. You could even heat the rod up in the oven before so it melts the filament as it goes in and hopefully bonds together. Then continue the print to cover it up. Maybe even make it tee shaped so there is something for your heel to press on.

    TIG rods? That means you've got hot pink shoes...both as in colour and radioactivity! (And no, not radioactive enough to worry about unless you grind the heels down and snort the powder...)

    • @Barely_Creative
      @Barely_Creative Місяць тому

      At 12:23, that looked like TIG filler rod, which is just low alloy steel with a copper coating for corrosion resistance. You might have been thinking of thoriated tungsten, which is mildly radioactive and was used for TIG welding electrodes, but has become much less common over time.

    • @TheGeoffable
      @TheGeoffable Місяць тому

  • @CrudeButEfficient

    Great job Barbie! 😎 Those are some impressive heels! If 3D printed shoes were to become a thing, there should be premade steel rods with a platform at the right angle, so you don't accidentally impale your foot
