This is the true story of Jack Doolan, the person who is named as "The Wild Colonial Boy". His real life is completely different from the famous song and after finding out about it I rewrote the song to tell his sad story.
I apologise for the out of focus camerawork and the intrusion of my music stand into the frame. I don't know what went wrong but I have to do everything myself so I guess I was concentrating on performing the song rather than checking the camerawork...

I thought I'd have a go at Tom Waits' classic: On The Nickel. It's very challenging, with 3 different keys: Gb, Ab & Bb and a vocal range of 2.3 octaves. I knew there would be a few pauses but I love the song so I just went for it! No editing or overdubs, no pitch correction, just some compression on the vocal.

One take, no overdubs, no backing track, no pitch correction, some compression on the vocal. 2 mics on the piano, 1 on the voice and two cameras. Audio mixed in Adobe Audition.
