Had some trouble getting my Starter off of my XL 1200 Jet ski. Had to use a strap to help remove.

Did you lose any back pressure? or did the car feel like you lost any power after doing that ? I’m asking cause I wanna do it to my 07 rt but I’m scared of losing back pressure or power or getting horrible gas mileage

I know this video is 2 years old, but damn you saved my bacon by suggesting to use a strap to get the starter out. Struggled to take the starter off my 1995 WaveVenture for an hour before I found this video. As soon as I hooked a strap to it I got it to pop right off, first try. When the strap went loose I immediately thought the strap had come off the starter, but nope the starter came right out.

Nice! My xlt1200 just makes a buzzing noise and guage says Start but no turning over. Won't show the hours unless it starts or almost does. SMH...

Any luck? I've got an 800 xl which the solenoid buzzes until I bypass it and I hear nothing. The "Start" on the screen goes away when I bypass it. I did jump start with my truck before reading that it can damage your computer. However, it started a couple or three more times the same day after jumping it and kept running perfect. It even ran perfect until a couple months ago when I tried to take it out and this happened. I thought it was a dead battery after two or three months of sitting, charged it and now at this stage
