That's how the US military has traditionally secured its vehicles. There are no door locks or keyed ignition switches - just a chain mounted to the floor to secure the steering wheel.
@@steveschoening yikes! Do you think it would get a lot better if I took it to a shop and had it re-geared? My wife and ai are thinking about it as a base for a go anywhere motorhome.
@@jeremiahcronin6987 it's a 40000 lb vehicle with a inefficient 2 stroke diesel. I don't think you can get much better than that unless you are going down hill with a tornado behind you.
@@steveschoening LOL I gotcha. . . That also brings up another question. . . Two stroke diesel. Are they not more efficient than 4 strokes? Also does that mean you have to mix oil and fuel like in a 2 stroke dirt bike? I am just starting to learn about diesel engines.
looking at this... I see rust..... on a top bar..... Found out that I have some of the poles. They were in my truck bed's cover pole cabinet/slot. One bar in there was RUSTY.. rest are aluminum ........ hmmm.... so appears some of this setup is steel. Could it be that only two top cross bars are steel and rest is aluminum? oh... and much thanks for this.!!
Can you please give me the Engine Casting Number, behind the drivers side head ? A friend has a 307 military engine with the cast number 6265501 does that match yours ? we're trying to figure out what his motor is out of. we'd really appreciate it.

Just cus you can upload a video onto youtube. Doesnt mean you should. What's the point of uploading this lol
