Early mornings at the lake, the summer sunrise allowing me to get out with my camera for a couple of hours before work, a couple of days a week. Here's a compilation of some of what I saw over the last 10 weeks in summer 2013. All content (c) Simon Ellis 2013 www.simonelliswildlife,com
The timings of the flights are according to the Lord who created them all. We are privileged to be able to witness His magnificently orchestrated beauty as and when He decides. So blessed to live close by, but not yet viewed personally. Thank you for sharing this wonderful experience with us all. God bless.
So beautiful. Fantastic footage of the roach and grayling 😊
Truly special - a dream-like state
Perfect. Thank you
Chasing the whatebait
those kids will remember that day for the rest of their lives.
Fly fishing would be so much more fun
Sadly they used to appear over a period of months and this was commonplace that they would be around in numbers even if they didn’t top like they do in this video. Unfortunately when they appear like this people forget this is a lot rarer sight
Amazing I went here a week ago for the first time and loved it, I didn’t see any KF and am a big fan of photographing them, I am going again tomorrow so hopefully I will see some, Otter, Water Vole and Fox would be a bonus too, very odd there were more than 2 KF together at 1.35 in the vid, was it parents and young do you think? What time of year was that part of the video and what part of Rooksbury? Many thanks Darren 📸♥️🤩👍🏻
whitebait commit suicide as the mackerel are feeding on them. have seen a silver slick a mile long.
I go to west bay every year and in 2018 it was like this however everyone was picking them up like crazy it was really fun (they were mostly already dead)
Sad that this is considered a huge shoal. 30yrs ago you would consider this a small shoal and see numerous shoals of this size .
How did u all know about it? When to turn up?
Feed one of those noisy kids to um!
That is impressive and good to see
Glory be to Allah!
Wow, amazing. Wish i had my rod there.
Mackeral. Everyone spells it wrong.
Yes even you cant spell it right
Very interesting phenomenon!

fantastic footage, mackerel are top predators ! fantastic fish !
it's a good job no trawlers could see that. they'd have rammed the beach
Kieron Bevan they even would take the children
Ha ha yes
They come within 20 yds of Slapton in Devon!
what a great video, so amazing and thanks for sharing, I might get my fishing gear out same time next year I so love makrell
Beautiful footage! Went for a country walk around Broughton with some friends on Sunday. We made an effort to keep Middle Wallop in view throughout as I knew XH558 was going over. In the event we were nearly two miles away but we nevertheless saw the delta shape, heard a bit of sound.... not quite like Fairford a couple of years ago but still lovely. Farewell XH558, thank you Mr Withers.
Simply stunning!!
Very nice!

Captivating. I love the kingfishers and despite my regular walks around the lakes I rarely see them. Guess I need to move my morning constitutional forward by 3 hours! Its a great place to be & Simon has captured it perfectly.
