Do not buy this stand!! Cheap, brittle plastic.The base breaks easily. The desk will crack if the stand is knocked over. I have had to replace every stand since I bought these 20 yrs ago. Take my word for it. You will regret ever buying these cheap brittle plastic stands. I was fooled by the claim that they are flexible-not so.I am now finally replacing them with metal stands.

Looks great, but what happens if you but a 2" binder full of music (weighing 4-5LBS) on it? is there a way to prevent the shelf from moving; what control do you have over friction tension on the music shelf?
