Welcome to theRVboss my name is Willie. In 2017 I started using the Outdoorsy platform to rent out my Class C motorhome with the purpose of building a home based business while also getting the benefits of owning an RV.
Since that time I’ve listed a variety of different vehicles on the platform and gained a lot of experience about the process, so I decided to share the details of my experience with others.
I post video tutorials that address typical maintenance activities and repairs that the RVs encounter while being rented out and I also share some of the strategies I use to maximize profitability and a consistent flow of bookings.
My hope is that the channel can provide some value to anyone interested in building an RV rental business using the platform, as well as being a useful resource to anyone searching for information related to RV management.
Thanks for visiting and supporting the channel!

How To Remove An RV Slide-Out (Step By Step)
#rvsliderepair #rvlife #slide
Over the last few years the rear slide-out on my 2013 Seneca Super C, has had some functionality issues stemming from broken parts on the Schwintek sliding system, specifically the GIBS and roller shoes that caused the entire slideout room to shift and ultimately stop moving.
So I decided to completely do away with the slide all together and just convert the area to one large stationary room.
In this video, I show the process I used to remove slide and completely seal off and remodel the area.

Hey what size wrench for the air line hose? I can’t get mine off
I used a 10mm. Mine was tough to get off too.
Will use your template technique 👍🏻
Awesome! Hope it goes well
Just bought a new rear light and the cable’s colors are different than the cables from the vehicle?
@@peterdebrie yeah same thing happened to me. I detail the proper connections in this video. ua-cam.com/video/U9aKF6w5F08/v-deo.htmlsi=_yMGI06_IC6tXz_b
Looks like raw cock
Thank you, that was exactly my problem
Glad it was helpful 😄👍🏽
That's gonna help in the morning, thanks for the clean video 🎉
Glad it was helpful 😄
Well done boss man!
Thanks!
Hello! Is it enough to notify your insurance company about cooperation with the platform, or will this require additional monthly payments?
Hi…that all depends on your insurance company. Many carriers don’t want to even provide coverage on a vehicle that’s being rented on the platform so it’s best to check with your carrier first.
Mechanically inclined! First mechanical breakdown you'll be blamed for being cheap and not having unit professionally serviced
Well in 7yrs haven’t had that experience but definitely another reason to consider when renting out your rv
Hey Boss, this was great! I've been restoring my RV, interior and exterior, for several months. Now that it's close to being finished, it appears that I need to replace the fuel pump. Although I am capable of doing it, I really didn't want to fool with dropping the fuel tank and was considering tanking it to a mechanics shop. This video changed that for me. I'll go ahead and do it. As another commentor already stated, "good camera angles, clear narration, straight to the point"!!
Thanks for the kind words😄 Hope everything goes smoothly for you. Enjoy your rig👍🏽
Mine used to run good, I over filled mine with oil and it started to run for 20 mins then it would die and it would take 10 mins to turn on again and then it would die after 5 mins. I drained the oil so it wouldn’t be too full and I keeps shutting down. Do you know how I would fix the issue of oil getting into other parts of the generator?
Not real sure on that. It might need to be disassembled and cleaned or maybe it will resolve on its own after a while. If you call Cummins service center they are usually pretty good at diagnosing and helping understand what’s going on. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.
Nice mod. Very professional video!
Thanks!
I was very surprised that Winnebago didn't have an external city water connection on the Solis. We just bought the 59PX and I was already planning an external connection mod. Thanks for the inspiration!
Me too. The mod has worked great for us. Congrats on the purchase and good luck with yours😄
1.6 Qt. Thanks
No problem 👍🏽
Sections would of been easier
Probably😄
Had to change the carburetor on my 60 hour Onan gen. cause it sat for almost 2 years and no one ran it. Could that also be an issue? According to camping world they can’t be cleaned out.
Yeah that could be an issue. They are somewhat sensitive units
What about if it was running good but now it wont even crank? Light wont even come on? Fuses are good, i changed the starter solenoid and still wont even try a turn on
If it was running good and now it has no power. I would make sure the battery is charged and the connections are super tight. If that’s not it, then the circuit board could have failed and may need to be replaced. That’s happened to me before.
Excellent video! I have an 2006 coachman mounted on an E-450 chassis. Getting a fuel rail pressure sensor error, P0191. Have replaced the sensor but the error keeps coming back. Going to just start replacing all the fuel system components do not want to take a chance on getting stranded. So I was wondering how hard it was to replace the fuel pump. Your video explained it perfectly. Not sure I'm going to do it myself, probably have a garage do it for me but it showed me that it really wasn't that big of a job. Any ideas on the fuel rail pressure sensor error?
I'm also having problems fueling the RV. Even with an empty tank when I start fueling the fueling nozzle senses that the tank is full and shuts off. The workaround is to lower the leveling jacks on the left side of the RV and tilting the whole RV about 5 to maybe 10 degrees. With the RV at this angle I am able to fill the tank up with no problems. Obviously some type of venting problem with the tank. Any ideas?
Awesome glad it was of some help! Yeah I was getting that same error code and changed the sensor as well. After changing the fuel pump the problem was solved. As far as the fueling issue, not sure I never had that issue. I think you’re right about the potential ventilation issue.
Great job
Thanks!
How about dewinterizing?
Good point. I’ll have to put a video together.
The front yard PVC sewage clean out! Yes. I've wondered if it's really that simple. Thank you for mentioning this to validate my idea. Thank you so much. We're about to buy our first RV so I'm trying to figure out this essential stuff.
Well I actually just got slapped on the wrist by my municipality for dumping in my sewage clean out. So it’s advisable to check with your local sewage authority first to make sure it’s ok. Congrats on the new RV and enjoy the summer 😄
And called it gay
Nice job
Thanks!
You did a good job. 🎉
Thanks!
Awesome video! I'll definitely be doing this. Thanks for posting it.
Thanks! It’s so much nicer now. Good luck with the install.😄👍🏽
Smart af
Thanks again!

Is it supposed to moving like that?
The movement looks similar to the old one so I’m assuming yes. Haven’t had any issues with it.
@@rvboss2911 howd you test the tension by chance? I just remembered from before i took it off guestimated🤣
@stevenpenaloza8700 I did the same. 😂
Can’t thank you enough. Everything you did and showed worked perfectly with ours. Great video. You saved our vacation. Thanks again.
That’s awesome! Glad it was helpful.👍🏽
Hello! Would you possibly be able to link the small tv and mount you used for your tv that is just above your stove if you have a chance? We would like to do the same to our Solis but I am having trouble finding a tv/mount combo that will fit there. I think yours looks great. Awesome video and testing by the way!
Hi …yeah for sure. Here’s the links to both and thanks!😄 TV: amzn.to/3wksSvF TV MOUNT: amzn.to/4bPV1LC
And some models have a oil pressure sensor that can get fouled and need cleaning.
😄👍🏽
Sir, could you please fix the link for your Ford part. It isn't working currently. Curious where you saw the part half price. Thanks
Hi...the part number for the sender isn't a link, it's just the part number for the dealer. The price I paid was in 2020 from a dealer in Philadelphia so not sure what the prices are now. Hope that helps.
Very helpful, great video, hope mine goes that easy, (easy?), thank you!!!!
Thanks and good luck with everything☺
Why does some of the verbiage say that host must have own insurance and sounded like a claim must be made and they are the back up?
As I understand it….the hosts insurance would be in first position to cover any damage and OD insurance would be secondary. Apparently that’s the way insurance companies work. In my experience OD insurance takes care of everything if a claim is made if the host has insurance or not.
@@rvboss2911 sounds like I may need another insurance provider. Any suggestions for host insurance for someone who looks to rent 4x/year?
I wouldn’t worry about it…as long as your personal carrier doesn’t mind you renting your vehicle then you’re good. I have StateFarm for my personal. I’ve had a few claims in the past and OD insurance covered fine.
Can you please tell me who I go to to get my generator fixed
Sure… you can find a local RV repair shop, Camping World or find a Cummins Dealer in your area. www.cummins.com Hope that helps.😄👍🏽
Does anyone know how much fuel it takes to run one of these for about an hour? Any close estimate would be appreciated. 1 gallon of gas? 3. gallons of gas? I found the answer on line They said about One Gallon of Gas an Hour . Thank You.
It depends on the load. According to the Cummins manual…No load=.3gal/h, Half load=.5gal/h, Full load=.7gal/h. Hope that helps 😄
My generator is not getting enough juice from the batteries to turn it over. I have a brand new battery under for my house battery. The man at the RV shop told me there is a solenoid or a cut off to cut one of the batteries off from one another, I have looked all over my class C 2000 and2 G 3500 for that solenoid or cut off. He said it needs reset where is it at?
Not sure where that would be either. Sorry couldn’t help
Mine is an onan 5000 and it has a reset switch on the right side towards the back of the generator. There are actually 2 switches there. I have had to reset it. Pull forward and then back to reset. Hope this helps
Excellent Vid ! My bolts are loose, ready to drop tank, which was FULL ... lol. glad I watched your video. Thanks
Thanks! A full tank would’ve been a a monster to wrestle 😂
How many gallons of antifreeze does it take to fill your lines? I have the 2007 FourWinds 5000 28a, if that is different than what you have.
Usually just 1-2 gallons gets the job done
Thank you!! I'm a new Rver.
Glad it was helpful. Enjoy your rig!😄
I have 1997 Fleetwood southwind f53 chassis are this the same ?
Not sure but based on the year I would guess it’s not the same
Fuel is not getting to the generator. I replaced the fuel filter and the incoming hose was dry at disconnect. I connected the genny to an exterior gas can and it starts and runs fine. CW says it's still a generator issue, Cummins says it's a chassis issue. Can I run a wire into the fuel line to determine blockage or attach an air compressor to it to attempt clearing? 2016 Minnie Winnie 31K, Onan 4000 generator.
That’s a tough one. I’ve never encountered that issue but blowing air might be the best solution.
Use a boat fuel primer bulb in the line to force fuel into the fuel pump to prime it if it doesent prime when holding down the start stop rocker switch in the off position for 15 seconds
I might have put too much oil because the 4k (microquiet ky) holds 1.6 quarts, I think I added extra.
Good job buddy a lot of stuff to cut around Israel. It looks good. What kind of worries you doing stuff like that when you have so much to deal with round 45s what have you you did a good job though it looks good.
Thanks! It wasn’t that bad once the whole piece was in place
On the bottom cover, you don’t remove the screws to open it, there are two squeeze tabs you just squeeze together and it hinges open.
Awesome thanks for the tip
Thanks for sharing, I like the look of the new flooring , I’m about to do my trailers floor which has a water damage around the restroom .
Thanks!
I have a 1990 winnebago. How do I find a new oem fuel pump? I tried the vin number but can seem to find it. Any suggestions?
That could be tough. Maybe a junkyard or eBay. Good luck with that😄
Great video! What that 2nd fuel line for your on-board generator? If so, do you have to purchase a specific fuel pump so it would have that 2nd fuel line for the generator?
Thanks! Yeah that 2nd line does go to the generator but it doesn’t require another pump because the generator has one.
@@rvboss2911When ordering a fuel pump for your motorhome, does the dealer need to know it is for a motorhome so it will have that 2nd fuel line for the generator?
@prohomevideos I never mentioned that so I don’t think so.
Great video! May I ask where do you buy such big rolls in length?
Thanks! I bought mine at Lowes but flooring stores also sell large rolls.
Where can I find fuel pump parts
I use Amazon.
@@rvboss2911nice video I'm going to check minds now thanks
That looked like a pretty big project but it turned out pretty nice. Good job.
Thanks!
