I have a feeling the 2zr could handle more power. The r18 is a terrible platform with terrible aftermarket support (lack of aftermarket support is what makes it terrible) and I’m not sure what you’d have to do to line up the r18 to be compatible for rwd either. Could be interesting either way

The r18 has good aftermarket support anywhere in the UAE but in America we don’t have access to much of anything because the platform was very outperformed by the k series

R18 is a wonderful engine if it is used as was intended. It can handle a lot of misuse and abuse and the maintenance is simple. Plus great fuel mileage

In a way yes but not really. The kits are still for sale (not tsi) on eBay. They’re like $650 but you have to outsource lines and fittings. But it comes with the manifold, turbo, down pipe, intercooler and some other misc. things. All in all only costs around $1500 to turbo the r18 which is wayyyyy cheaper than anyone was selling the kits for. Plus the EMUSA turbos are actually pretty good quality. No issues at all this far with it and she’s been boosted coming up on 5 years now

@mobsquad1320 does emusa sell the kit with everything you need rather than sourcing the fittings and lines? I know the seller said a lot of fabrication would be needed.

No fabrication was needed. Just gotta find the lines and fittings man. Plus outsourcing injectors and your tuning device. But there is no cutting or welding needed

I’m pretty sure it can handle a lot more than most would think. I’ve had zero issues at all on 10psi so far. Not sure where it’s going from here but it’s still a decent daily driver

Honestly I wouldn’t recommend anything past an exhaust unless you intend on keeping it forever. The returns on power are not great. It’s a cool platform and could have been something great but the r series were overthrown BIG TIME by the k20s and k24s. Aftermarket support is just non existent and unless you’re going forced induction you won’t ever feel a true power difference

Injen Cold air Intake Some random cat back exhaust off eBay with deleted resonator (2.5”) Megan Racing Catless Downpipe/Header And a tune from e-tunez.com I’ll be honest for any real power gains forced induction is the way to go. The bolt ons wake it up a decent amount buttttt nothing worth what you’ll spend. You’ll save on the long run just getting the cheap turbo kit I got. All in all spending around $1500 to get the car to roughly 200 whp

@Flury94 Anything is possible. I've had all types of Hondas and Acuras. The amount of money, time, and effort to make them "fast" is just not worth it, IMHO. They're fun to drive, easy to mod, and have loads of crowd support. It's become a novice tuner car.
