Prophet Rev 2 + Moog Grandmother arpeggio on a sunday morning
The Sequential Prophet rev2 and the Moog Grandmother are a perfect combo, the first one is a polyphonic synthesizer, the second is a dream monophonic semimodular synth.
This recording was part of my usual sunday morning making music routine, after playing a little bit with the Sequential Rev 2 and its modulation I came up with this patch that I really liked and it sounded great as a layer for the Grandomother arpeggios running over it. I play with the filter and with the envelopes on the grandmother and towards the add I add the extra modulation to the vcf from the lfo. Pretty happy the way it came out.
I have just started learning how to play the keyboard so please be kind if you comment on my playing!! haha!

Moog Grandmother's eurorack out goes straight into the Happy Nerding Fx Aid for some extra reverb and then into the Strymon El Capistan. The square wave lfo is modulating the filter envelope. The patch took me some time to get to the sound I wanted, I really love the sound of the Moog Grandmother.

thanks!! I think it is, there is other modulation too but I can't remember I'm sorry.
The more complex the sounds, the less complex the arrangement should be. Sounds good to me!
@@StefaanHimpe thank you, I totally agree with you! another reason is that I am learning to play the piano haha...started taking private lessons in may because I really want to be able to use synthesizers the best I can, especially mono synths deserve to be played well...they need a good pkayer in order to hear the best of what they can do. thats just my opinion though.

@@m_g_tek5525 thanks man. well it is expensive that's true but if you consider what you get it's a reasonable price, this could definitely be the deserto island synth that you can use for everything, 16 voice polyphony, full analog path, tons of modulation and effects.

@@DisciplinedCommotion no you buy separate modules, the modules range from 100 to 700 bucks each...so yeah it can be pretty expensive

If you were going to choose between the Sound Studio 3 or a Grandmother with the Sound Studio 2 (DFAM/Subharmonicon), which would you choose? Edit: for an ambient drone rig
I would choose the grandmother with the dfam and subharmonicon.

Nice drone! I love my grandma. Recently I started experimenting with CV out from my audio interface and modulating from Ableton Live. I don’t have Modular stuff so this opens up a lot of possibilities.
thank you @Rafael Graterol! The Grandma is hands down my favourite piece of gear that I own at the moment! I will start buying some modules in the near future, got a case ready...it's sad to see it empty! haha

Ah so good the Grandmother is a really excellent synth shame I have to part with mine as you probably know by now. But good to see you playing yours.
I'm sure you made the right decision because you already have the matriarch...the only thing you might eventually miss is the portability, or maybe that's something that you don't really care much about. I don't for example haha
