Thank you for the video, it helped so much with figuring out the connections and getting them off. As others have noted, mine is a 2019 and a little different than your video. I did not remove the bracket, the purge valve pulls off and a rubber piece inside is what holds it to the bracket. Much easier than trying to figure out how to get the bracket off. Ford engineers should be ashamed of themselves for this design anyway and the cost of it.

Yo thanks I didn’t have the right tools so I opened the top and but the front buttons back on hooked it up and stuck a screw driver on the prong that was holding the cpu bc one prong on mine was brown so I held it there with some pressure for an 7 seconds and the radio stopped cutting in and out 😭❤️ thanks for the info!

Bottom yellow one was a b$th ended up not changing it and reused it and changed the rest of them wondering if anyone also did so

I appreciate you making this video and recently did the same repair on a 2020 Ford Edge. The purge valve is mounted on a bracket directly below the air intake. I found it very difficult to access even with the air intake moved out of the way. I ended up using a 10 mm deep socket and 1/4" ratchet to loosen the bracket. Also as you mentioned the lower engine connection is a pain to get back on. I'm not sure why Ford makes that connector lock open like that. As you said you need to set that connector in just the right position then push hard to make sure it's fully seated on the tube. It took me a few tries but I finally got it.

Does the car have to be on neutral or parked when replaced? Mine just went out and waiting on cable to get here also when ever this happen my car didn’t want to start any more it happend while car was on neutral and was being pushed.

nice temp fix, too bad it isnt a long term fix. first time i did it, radio worked for about 2 weeks, series xm for another 3 weeks after that then all was quiet again, second time was 3 days for am/fm. 3 weeks for satalite, 3rd time, no am/fm. bluetooth, satalite works most of the time but cuts out a lot still

Cai, thanks for the great vid! For everyone's reference a 27mm deep socket is perfect for removal I got one from harbor freight for about $5. No lift needed I laid on the ground and shimmied from the front just under the passenger side wheel easy access! Cheers!
