Just subscribed! Very good video? Just moved to Dunellon Fl. How can I get some fruit trees to plant in my back yard?
I’ll send a link
Fast-growing-trees.com
Great tip about the canopy shading the roots. I’m in west central Texas.
Thanks
I love your passion. I've tried the two cup method....totally going to try it your way this season
Thanks.
Thank you so much. I'm in Fort Worth, and just starting gardening. It's hard to find content for our area. So again thank you. I have a peach tree on the way and that's how I found you. I'm feeling more confident after having watched your videos.
Thanks so much! Let’s get to growing!!
I cold stratified some Palisade Peaches, I am going to be putting them in my yard in Park County Colorado - Im excited, after four months in the fridge, I am seeing great roots.
I’m doing that with some bur oak acorns right now
This was a great video thank you!
Thanks
Super helpful
Thanks
Can't wait to try this on my jumbo coturnix. Everything is better with bacon!
Yep right! Bacon and / or cheese does it !!
Great content as always. Thanks for making this video.
Thanks

Hi I'm new to incubators was wondering if the fan on a forced air incubator supposed to run continuously
Yes it should
Thank you so much
Thank you! I will be trying this!
Awesome
How many times each week do you refill the PVC pipe? Do you continue using the pipe after the first year? And do you water during the Winter or just let the tree go dormant until Spring?
I fill the pipe three times a week. After a year I pull it.
I'm in northern Illinois would a dwarf peach be planted the same way as yours are. I'm in my 70s so that's why I went with the dwarf. I ordered two but only received 1 so far. Theres squirrels around so I'm adding chicken wire around with leaves inside. Does that seem alright. Thanks for your great reviews
Squirrels love those peaches so yes some protection is best!!
I ordered something similar for my jars but it's taking forever for amazon to ship! I am going to dehydrate some tomatoes, thanks for the vids
Some shipping has been slowed due to hurricane
Wanted the Tomato/Basil soup recipe😊
I’ll get it added
U make a really good Grandpa!😊
Ahhh thanks!!
Great information, thank you
Thank you!
Damn that was boring!
Glad ya watched that boring crap!
@@colonyhillshomestead4683 I managed about half, so can only take your word for that.
Are you still preserving/dehydrating foods?
Yes actually have a beef snack/ jerky video about to come out
Thank you for sharing this. I am buying some quail soon, I have ordered a cage and the feed and am waiting until I have the set up before I buy the birds. This video was very helpful. I had thought about giving them their own eggshells ground up but hadn’t thought of drying them in the oven first, and I had no idea I couldn’t give them avacado or parsley
Thank you and good luck. Share your results
Thank you
You're welcome
Man, I just subscribed after watching 2 videos n saw that no new videos are out. What a bummer cause i really love this guy. Down to earth, gets to the point, funny, informative, pulls no punches, heart of gold, etcs. Hope he comes back cause i just clicked on that bell to notify me of any (hopefully) future videos to come. N as always, blessings everyone 🌏
I’m here and about to get it!! So I took on a challenge almost a year ago to turn a facility around.
Got it down but always have to improve but have more time now to rededicate
Thanks very helpful!!!
Appreciate that
This is a fantastic video. I will be planting a small orchard here in KY. In the spring and I need all the help I can get thank you 🙏
Thank you and good luck!
I live on the Texas Gulf Coast and I staked out my Peach Tree when planted , but Hurricane Nicholas (Sept. 2021) didn't seem to have much effect on it , but Hurricane Beryl (July 8 th, 2024 )put it at a 60 degree angle after 6 hours of straight on 100 plus mph winds with heavy rain was just to much as the pole just couldn't support the tree . In a 2000 Acre subdivision we had over 200 Large Pecan trees down as of Aug. 17 th they are just about all gone except for the stumps !
Hate to hear that! Our weather here in Texas is day by day it seems. Wish you the best
Oh that’s so sad… I hate that for you. Think I’d cry if it was me.
Where do I get to buy your fertilized eggs? Can you share links?
I just stopped selling. I’d recommend Myshirefarms
Great videos
Thanks
What’s it look like now?!?
About 4 foot tall and gave me about 8 big peaches. Be at its best next spring
awesome tips tyty!
Thank you!
Just discovered this excellent channel and just subscribed. When do you fertilize and what fertilizer do you use for peach trees? You mentioned you are in Texas, how often do you water your peach trees?
I use compost tea made from quail poop. I fertilize during bloom , halfway to harvest and late fall. I water once a week. Thanks
@@colonyhillshomestead4683 Thank you so much. I just planted my first peach tree - Red Haven Peach Tree - and I am learning ...
i believe i may have messed up planting my peach tree, its about 4 .5ft tall and its not getting any taller, its been some months. what i didnt do is plant higher up to the surface, nor did i use native soil, all store soil. Now im having the problem of the leaves turning orange and falling off. Is it too late to re-plant and try to help my roots adapt before winter hits?
Too hot. Wait about a month and go for it. Make sure the hole is wide leaving room for good root growth.
@@colonyhillshomestead4683 thank you for the advice, I’ll definitely give it a shot.
This is the definition of an informative video. Thank you.
Thank you
I like this guy! Noticed he hasn’t uploaded in a year or so, hope all is well.
All is well and have videos coming out this week. I took on a challenge and it took 60-70 hr was to get it right. I’m a nursing home Administrator
@@colonyhillshomestead4683nursing home administrators! So basically you are on call 24 hours a day!! Glad you can find time to share information about growing peach trees!!
Where are you? You haven't made a video in a whole year?
I took on a new challenge that required full dedication but…. I have a list of new videos about to come out!!!
The best time to plant or prune fruit trees, is when you have the time. I've practiced this for around 45 years, works great. People make it harder than GOD intended.
Planting doesn’t always equal success but thanks for the post 🤣
Thank you so much for all this information, feeling inspired! And so I by was gifted a baby peach tree in early May and I put it in the ground but think I neglected , I didn’t even mulch the area, it still doesn’t have any leaves and hasn’t grown. Ask for a refund and hope for the best?
Refund for sure
A live in a very suburban area where there are no stores nearby that carry quail feed. There is a nearby Wal-Mart that has chicken feed, but that's not near enough protein, especially for young quail. So I have to make a long drive to a Tractor Supply Co further out in a more rural area. At least they have large bags so I don't have to make the drive often. There are other stores nearby where I can get meal worms and cracked corn and millet and other things to supplement the feed, but that game bird feed is a haul for me to get...
Sorry to hear that. Tsc is a good choice
See if you can find soybean meal. To add to chicken feed. It's 47-48 percent protein.
See if Chewy has it they deliver
I’m sold..we have used a lot Of Different coolers down here in the south and none of them make it 24hrs in this heat
This one will!
Recommend play at 1.5 speed so you won't go to sleep,,,,,,
You could not watch vs spending your obvious precious time commenting on a video you just enjoyed!
I just planted one I used 50lbs of milorganite with mixed with black cow and mine has grown 2-3 feet in a month it seems like
Awesome growth. Remember to prune in fall
@@colonyhillshomestead4683 what’s the downside if I don’t prune I kinda planted it for quick shade and for the fruit
i use a tarp, 6 mil thick, cut cross where i want tomato, pepper, cucumber and a few other plants, mulch around the planting spot, this is first year on thick one, nothing has poked through yet. tomato plants 7 to 8 ft. high and loaded with tomatoes, everything doing great. corn and squash i plant on uncovered space. i planted corn in mid feb(in central alabama) had some times where weather got cold but where my tarp was, i had just rolled it back, when it got cold i rolled it over the area my corn planted, unrolled when temp went up. it worked good this first time, just last week, picked my corn and then pulled stalks up and fed to cows, first week of june. about to till that area up again and plant some more squash, might get some collards going.
Great set up. I’ll be cutting collards this evening!
Last october i put 5 peach pit seeds in the fridge on a wet paper towel etc. Come jan, 1 seed was rooting. A month later, 3 more were. 1 didnt sprout. 1 died after a month. The remaining 3 are big and strong. 32" last measurement. 2 are straight stemmed and 1 has 2 branches growing out. This fall i will plant them in the ground.
Awesome seems you know a thing or two about stratifying
Gotta have those cold days 👍
Moving to the country…. Gonna eat a lot of peaches…. Moving to the country… gonna eat me a lot of peaches!
🤣
I didn't know that beefsteaks come in different varieties; I thought beefsteak WAS the variety. And I didn't know there were both determinate and indeterminate varieties. So I don't know if they will vine & grow 10' tall, or stay short & manageable 😢.
I grow an heirloom variety that is indeterminate and mine literally will get crazy tall but I prune them to stay less than 5 or 6 feet
By cutting the top off that Young WEAK tree in that time of the year instead of the winter you just cut it wide open for bugs and diseases to INSTANTLY kill that tree. Smh. All that planning work to RUIN it in seconds
Thanks for your opinion . Tree is doing amazing!!
Yeah I did the same thing. I cut the top off when I planted in spring. And it's growing like a weed! So yeah thanks for your opinion.
Great video thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
