I'm a Jamaican who's an advocate for black unity and black empowerment and this news of the murder of Leonard Dominic and the mysterious death of diaspora black women is of very troubling concern to me. It has shaken me to the core to know that African people have turned out to be worse than the situation that blacks in the diaspora are trying to get away from, foolishly thinking that being in the land of our ancestors and being around our own people that we would be safe only to experience a rude awakening from the naivety of thinking we would be around our family. This hostility and envy towards blacks from the diaspora from these African people is just unbelievable. What kind of twisted mentality these people possess to not have a problem with foreigners of different races are coming to Gambia,set up successfull businesses, buy up the real estate but have a problem with black people doing the same. If anything I would be thankful and supportive of people who look like me are setting up businesses and owning lands to ensure that Africa iss not losing their land to foreigners who despise African people and are there to exploit them,but I guess I'm just naive. This just cements what I've been saying, that there's no honour among us black people.

Why aren't the authorities doing more to deter all these killings of black disapora in the country? How are the locals being treated by the black disapora? There are reports that the disapora take on the mentality of whites when they are in Africa and look down on the locals. Could it also because of mistreatment on the locals resulted into murder( not saying murder is just cause, definitely NOT); but something is seriously wrong that is not being addressed. Yes, where there are high poverty you will find high crrime, but in Gambia only the black disapora are being targetd, WHY. Ask yourselves who are behind this. Poverty is worldwide and so is crime, but disapora are not the only ones being targeted. I read in an article that Indians and Chinese complaining how black Americans are coming to the Gambia and buying up all the land. We need to open our eyes.

Theres Gambians who dont want to see growth in the Gambia. No matter where diaspora are coming from, blk death is in those countries as well. You can set up a business in the US and blks wont patronize blks businesses either, they'd rather spend at white, asian, Indian businesses. You shouldnt be there! Blks need to pull togther not separate. Diasporans should research the economic history of the country they want to move to. These are poor countries and the diasporans they really need are the educated skilled ones who can add to the growth of its infrastructure! So if you go to these places to benefit your self then stand in line. Theres millions of them wanting personal growth as well. If you have skills like teachers, doctors and so on, those are the diasporans that are needed there! Learn the economics and history of the place you want to go to first, it explains a lot about attitudes and business practices of that country. And adjust attitudes regarding the ppl, they are not beneath blk diaspora either! African continents were not colonized for African growth, it was colonized for Europens and now other non blk ppl to gain wealth from! But these countries are slowly but steadily changing the fate of their ppl so that they can increase their wealth growth too! This is why educated and skilled diasporans are desperately needed. Know the history and challenges of the place you want to go first!

As a South African, I've always suggested that when doing research on Africa, to also connect online with other people from your country/state. Ask them how they are being treated in that particular country, among other questions. We have problems, especially politically, and we'be been labelled xeenophobic, but, Black Americans have been moving to, and thriving in SA since the 80's, and we live together without any problems. People can watch "Blacks without Borders" to see this. None of Black Americans I know are struggling. Some are doing very well, like the Blantons @therealsouthafrica, and the Sister who owns her own vineyard, makes her own wine, and has a label on the market. People may say we are xenophobic towards other Africans, but they also forget that SA is the size of California. How can we take in millions of people from the rest of the continent? This happens for more than reported, usually covered up killings by local people to steal money or property(predator killings) as many people in local area are related and hate foreigners then the code of silence applies. My advice do not go there, even if you know people.
