Review of the beautiful Ellen Wille Boheme wig in color Nougat Mix that I won in an Ellen Wille contest. This review was not required for the prize. I felt that since it’s a fairly new wig in a color that’s difficult to see the true color online, it might help someone decide if this is right for them. Thanks for watching!

      I had too and I’m really glad I bought it. It’s one of my favorite wigs! If I had to do it all over again though I probably wouldn’t have taken so much of the lace and hair off the sides but they looked like sideburns on me lol I do have to say that you CAN see the lace even if it’s “melted” down. I had to use glue because the lace would show. Anyhow to avoid the lace showing, I had to clip it way back into the hairline. I’ll use a little got2b glued spray or TruSolutions adhesive.

    • @Tricia0070
      @Tricia0070 17 днів тому

      Question, does the lace show more than others? Lace I s pretty invisible on Highline wigs but the hairline from hairalicious looks downright amazing. And what do you mean by cutting less of the sides off?

    • @KiraL.Wilson
      @KiraL.Wilson 17 днів тому

      @@Tricia0070I can’t find anything on the website right now about the type of lace it is but I believe I’ve seen it referred to as HD lace. I think it’s more noticeable than welded lace on wigs like Jon Renau and Ellen Wille. Hairalicious said to make it less noticeable to trim it back to the hairline. By not leaving any excess lace, you definitely need to use some sort of adhesive to keep it down because on me it won’t lay completely flat. There are no ear tabs on these wigs so the hair around the ears looks like long sideburns. I trimmed those off on mine because I looked like I had sideburns and I would have to put adhesive on my face. I think the next one I get I’ll experiment a little more with the sideburn hair. You’re supposed to not need adhesive and yes I can wear it without adhesive but the lace does lift up a little so it is noticeable, at least on me. With all that being said, this is the wig I gravitate to wearing most since it’s so lightweight and the color is gorgeous. I’ve also glued down the edges or used walker tape around the entire front perimeter and was able to wear it up in an updo. Other wigs are too bulky to do that. Hope this helps!

    great instructions. do you remove the blue backing first or the white or does it not really matter? i want to say my stylist told me to remove the blue first and place that on the wig. thanks muchly

    • @KiraL.Wilson
      @KiraL.Wilson 3 місяці тому

      Great question! It’s been a while since I made this video and how I’ve been using the tape is that I make sure there is no oil or makeup on my forehead and the wig lace is clean. I then take the white side off and put sticky side down onto the lace. When I put the wig on, I make sure I don’t push down the lace/tape until it’s in the right place. You can also put the sticky side down on your forehead where you want the lace to lay and remove the blue layer before putting on your wig. However, there’s more room for error by doing this. I always seem to get hair stuck in the tape by doing that. Good luck!

    I purchased the style from a wig sister in rusty Auburn and I love the front but it's the back that I have issues with I thought I was purchasing wavy day I don't know how I got them confused but this kind of has a wavy day front a little bit but the back is so stringy and straight and if I put it back in a clip the back just doesn't match the front and because it's synthetic I can't change that so I'm gonna sell it because I won't wear it and I want to get wavy day I guess

    How do you make the lace front not stick up or be way obvious? I went through cancer in 2020 with my husband and although he also lost all of his 2ft locks, he looks amazing with short hair. I do not! 😂 I’ve been through so many wigs and so many knowledge videos and nobody is as pale skinned as me, and it’s just so obvious I end up having to cut the lace every two weeks, not to mention how hard it is to keep a wig untangled and maintain the health of the hair so it lasts long. I’m lucky enough that I do my own hair and always have so I’m good at doing my own trims, coloring without box dye, have all the salon products but it doesn’t matter. The one I have right now is the one that lasted the longest, and that’s 4 months of daily wear. If you have any tips on that^, I subscribed and will gladly watch all your videos! As for the glue from tapes, I’ve tried it all and every time, there’s so much hair loss, scalp pain, etc. I think brands are usually pricing difference but I’ll look at what’s in what you use. Maybe I’m not patient, but it’s never that easy, and the glue will gunk up when sweat/heat/humidity happens and then it’s not like peeling off a fresh strip of tape and I want my actual hair to grow, not get pulled off. Also wigs are expensive so I’m just yearning for advice that works. 😟 Also I’m lazy so the longer the hold the better, and without getting itchy. Lol.

    • @KiraL.Wilson
      @KiraL.Wilson Рік тому

      Hi there! My go to for keeping my lace down is usually the got2b glued spray or gel. I put it on my forehead about 4 fingers up from my pinkie resting on the top of my eyebrows. That’s where the lace should rest. Then I press the lace down with my fingers or use the end of a rat tail comb to press it down. You mentioned that you tried glue and tape and experienced scalp pain and hair loss? Where are you putting the tape and adhesives? I recommend only putting adhesives like glue and tape on the forehead and avoiding hair. I still have bio hair so when I use tape, I avoid the hairline. However, if I use the got2b and I get it in my hair, I just spritz it heavily with water and it comes off and the hair doesn’t come off with it. If you have total hair loss or a lot of hairless spots on your head, I would recommend wearing a bamboo wig liner like the one I wore in the video. It’s soft and protects your head. I’ve attached tape to the liner before but my head is so flat in the back that the wig cap tends to ride up as the day goes on. I’ve even tried to spray my hair with the got2b then put the liner on when it was still wet so it stuck to my hair. Then I attached tape to the liner. That was a pain in the butt to take off. I had to run water over my entire head to loosen it then use adhesive remover to get the tape off. Honestly I have found that what works for some may not work for others. It’s a lot of trial and error. As far as wig longevity and care, I don’t personally wear wigs every day but a decent synthetic wig should last close to six months. Sometimes less depending on the quality of the wig/fibers/cap and how it’s cared for. Shorter synthetics will usually last longer as they tend to not fray as much at the ends from the friction of your clothing, shoulders and collars. Decent quality human hair wigs are supposed to last close to a year with daily wear. Again, this all depends on how it’s cared for. I really like using Joico defy damage shampoo and conditioner for my human hair wigs along with Olaplex 6 smoother and 7 oil. But also be sure to use a good heat protector on human hair. For both synthetics and human hair it’s always best to go with what the wig manufacturer suggests product wise. For synthetics, I had been using Jon Renau products and I also started using Beautimark synthetic care products. They’re both about the same but I kind of like the Beautimark scents better. Hope this helps!

    Hi, thanks, that was really helpful! Unfortunately, I have cut mine way too far back and think I’m SOL! However, the ones that I did do as you have shown with using the clinking shares I kind of scratches my forehead. What do you do to help with that?! And have you ever sent your wig back to John Renaux for repair?! I have bought six or seven of the $4000 Human hair wigs, and I just had horrible luck with them fraying and falling apart // it’s been a REALLY EXPENSIVE ordeal 😭😢

    • @KiraL.Wilson
      @KiraL.Wilson Рік тому

      Jon Renau recommends using pinking shears to trim their SmartLace to reduce fraying as you would see cutting it straight across with regular scissors. Over time, I have found the lace does get scratchy. I put a very think layer of Got2BGlued transparent gel along the hairline where the lace will rest, put my wig on, make any adjustments and press the lace down into the gel which will dry fairly quickly. This helps form a barrier between the lace and your skin and it will also hold the lace in place until you remove it with water or you sweat it off. Personally I prefer to use the got2b spray or gel to add extra security. I personally have not sent any of my wigs back for lace repair but it can be done by contacting Jon Renau on their website.

      Oh my goodness! I just saw this. Really sorry. I’m 20.75” circumference and can wear a 21” with a wig grip :) so a petite usually fits me pretty well. I’m also 11” ear to ear and front to back is also 11”. I’ve got a tiny noggin 🤣

    Thank you for reviewing this. I don’t believe I’ve seen this color before on this style. It doesn’t look too gold/warm - I might have to give it a go

      Thank you so much! I really do like this one. The bangs take a little bit to figure out but otherwise it’s a fantastic wig! I’m out running errands in it now actually haha

    That mini lace front is a no no I don't know of anyone who likes that feature at all. Cute style though 💝

      Thank you for watching and commenting Clara. It was my first time wearing one so I didn’t know what to expect. I’ll definitely stick to temple to temple lace fronts :)

    You look adorable in this! 🤩 I don't like the mini lace at all but the style and color is very pretty. Why do they do these mini lace? Definitely not good if the wind blows. 😭 Thank you Kira for your review and blessings to you! 💗

      Thank you so very much for your kind words and for watching the video 💜 Yes! I totally agree with the little mini lace front. It’s the first time I’ve tried a wig like this and I am NOT a fan of the mini lace. Otherwise this wig is spectacular.
