If I was getting the Ghost, of course I would have purchased that pack. I’m hopeful that Rebels’ Sabine will be released in her Season 1-2 look with a better helmet like this. Our TVC Discord has pointed the inconsistency on her helmet and it’s been all over the place. But hey, it’s Sabine and her art isn’t the most refined and that’s okay. Glad that Chopper got some more stuff thanks to the Lothcats. But for $60 CAD, it’s more expensive than two standard releases, same problem with the Duel’s End Vader and Showdown Kenobi. It’s tough.

Would be interesting to see you break them open and send them back to see a grading difference

Brett, I'm a first time watcher of your channel and this was extremely informative. Great insight on the grading process. That CAS 90 Boba Fett is a "stunner" as John (AFG) would say. Any interest in selling it? What is the name of your ebay store? Will definitely be watching more of your videos!

Great video. I just got into grading this year also, and chose AFA for my TVC. I've heard so many horror stories about CAS, this video included, where I'm glad I went with AFA. So far, I’ve been very pleased and I can pretty accurately predict whether the figure is going to get an 8.5 or 9.0 before I send it in. I’ve gotten all 9.0 on my figures except one Death Star II that I knew would get an 8.5 because of very minor bubble rub. I think a lot of it comes down to people’s varying versions of what they consider “mint”. I have bought items from people a few times where they claimed it was “ridiculously mint” only for it to arrive with a crease or veining. That’s not mint to me. You are right it took me awhile to get used to their submission form system as it’s not very user friendly. But now that I’ve learned how to use it, I can navigate it very well and find what I’m looking for both in Kenner and TVC. My standard submissions seem to run 4 months spot on. I have done 2 priority submissions on a couple of my 1.0 TVC which they have recently changed from 30 days to 3 weeks. With shipping time, it still takes about a month.

Great video, Brett. After being influenced by you and John the AFG, I’ve started dipping my toe into grading some figures. I don’t have the graded figure back from CAS yet, but in checking my submissions on their website the TVC Droids Boba Fett I sent in received a 50+ grade 😳. The bubble is what actually got a 50 grade with the card getting an 80 and the figure getting a 90. My question for you is do you know of any running issues with the bubble for this figure? I certainly didn’t notice any substantial damage to the bubble before sending it in. Do you have this figure graded? Any issues with the grade you received? Any insight would be appreciated. Bottom left corner of the Armourer looks dinged to me (?), also there's a vein right of the sticker. Of course hard to see in the video, but I do think the grades are a fair representation of the condition for the most part.

Thank you for convincing me to never EVER get anything graded. I've considered it on and off over the past few years and now that I know all the details I am glad I never did. I enjoy watching Mr. Rula's channel and I appreciate his point of view, but grading is definitely not for me. Thanks for your candor.

So, I always drive down to West Palm Beach (CAS) to pick up and deliver my MOC's. I have a friend down there where I can stay. I pay like $300 for gas, but I make sure that nothing happens to the bubbles or to the tapes that holds the weapons in place. I guess I am lucky to do it that way!

Great video Brett. Really interesting look at the ups and downs of grading. I’ve never had anything graded, only keep a few carded figures. Cannot understand what was wrong with that fat Bib, looked minty to me. Are you able to ask for a second opinion or would that essentially entail paying to have something regraded?

So if the Dark trooper is the same figure as the deluxe, can you remove the hands, although they don't give you extras. Thanks.

If you think you can do the job better than the graders, why not set up your own grading, I dunno, call it BOF Grading 🤣🤣🤣, a few acrylic cases, a bit of superglue and a printer and there you go. Now you see how stupid grading is 🤣

Most of those Bib Fortunas have a kind of extra rim marking around the bubble. I can't see if this is on your sample.

I’m certain I had one of those mugs in the 90s. 🤔 You now have to ask your Boba Fett mug are you coming in warm or are you coming in cold 🤦‍♂️ (I apologise)😂 When it comes to getting into grading it usually does turn out to be Johns fault 😊 That’s a crazy score for big Bib! Mine unfortunately came in the box damaged so was definitely not worth grading but yours looks mint! This video has single-handedly put me off grading completely! Especially due to that Yak Face 😮 Great stuff Brett!

Thx for sharing 👍🏼 to each his own but I never understood why people grade figures, especially loose figs as I’ve displayed them all my life. You can stack the little boxes but imo it just doesn’t look good. Also, figures tend to oxidize in airtight containment. Although I never seen proof of this I’m curious to see what happens with those figures over time. Those moc’s you got graded are awesome 🔥

I’m actually pretty surprised that slave Leia still got an 85+ with that litho tear. I would think they would at least give it and 80 for the card. I have seen some interesting grades though so I guess it may make sense. Great video as always man

Thumbs up on the Ronto! That was one of the few creatures from the Special Editions that I liked. I bought one for my Mos Eisley diorama. I also bought the POTF Emperor for my Imperial Shuttle display with Vader, ERG, and some of the dignitaries.

Thanks for your honest views on grading figures, Brett. I personally don't grade any of my collection. I think the prices are way to high to appraise plastic. I think it's an artificially created market that taps into the emotions of collectors who want validation of their investment in a toy hobby. The true value of my collection is in the fond memories I have from my childhood when the OT was out in theaters. I see my Star Wars toys as a window into my youth that was happy and adventurous for the most part. I am very cognizant that the reality is my memories don't hold value with the majority of people. Just those that experience similar attachment to the past. That audience is slowly diminishing over time due to attrition from death and age, plus a general disinterest in new media that leads to "quitting the hobby." When you have a little piece of plastic selling for over 1 million dollars, something's just not right with the world. LOL!

The Bib Fortuna that came with my throne room had some very faint markings on the card face right out of the box. The marks were only visible when lit at a particular angle but it did come from the factory blemished. Does your Bib suffer from this malady? It does look good on screen though.

Absolutely love the Ronto it looks amazing. Opening up the toys sometimes is better than watching dust gather on the cardboard. Will look great on display. Any 90 Grade is fabulous.

I hope Hasbro gets around to releasing other "deluxe" figures on a card (Tatooine Boba, Paz Vizla, Krssantan, Jango Fett).

The only faux prototype figure I liked was the Luke Skywalker Snowspeeder Pilot figure. I think the notion of fake prototypes is dumb, but with the pilot figure I was able to use the boil & pop method to take them all apart, and then reassemble them so that they're all the same color. Now they're perfect for customizing into different pilots. All they need is a new head and a bit of paint.

Not a big Jedi or Jabba lover, but some nice and not so nice bits going on here... But, having said that does look good when you place all you figures around it. For me Fennec is not moving one inch off my throne set-up 💪

1 question can the vintage jabbas playset fit in to that slot ?

Nice review, Brett. I am sure @Bossk's Bounty will be happy to see how you had the Throne Room set-up before Jabba arrived. As a long-time collector I passed on this one. I have previous releases of Salacious, 8D8, and Jabba with the dais too. I decided on 2 Blurrgs instead. The set looks great though!
