Cultural Christianity: A Call to Deeper Faith | Dave Clayton
Faith and works = catholic. Faith alone = protestant.
Works are the desire of God’s heart that are the living out of our faith. Many people do good works out of a sense of obligation or compassion, but not as acts motivated by their love for God and faith in Christ. Sympathy for the people who are suffering from lack, infirmity, or circumstance without stepping into that situation by faith is just pity while remaining self-centered. It’s called sacrifice. God wants us to be the ambassadors of Christ in the world. That means we must demonstrate our faith by how we relate to others. We must earnestly pray that we may be conformed to the image of Jesus, now and forever. James doesn’t suggest that works will save us, but he is pretty emphatic that true faith will produce sacrificial efforts for the sake of others.
Amen! Oh yeah :) 🎉
6 million in ger many believed and hoped they would be saved, look what happened to them at the hands of one man. Same thing is happening here in America but y'all are too damn stupid to realize it
Dogs and enlisted troops obey commands!
LOL
Please pray for me. I’m struggling with many sins.
Powerful!! 🙌🏽
Yes! Faith is Allegiance! We have totally missed this! We have to stop preaching easy-believism, “ask Jesus into your heart”-type decisionism.
I need to talk to someone about this. Are any of the presenters available. I'm in England
Hey Greg, you are welcome to email info@discipleship.org
What I find interesting about this topic is the focus on women discipling others (the younger) which I fully agree with but for me all of my matriarchs and older wise women in my life have gone on to glory. It’s been difficult to find a “replacement or replacements” if you will while I pour into others. I also know a lot of this is dependent on the demographics in your local body of believers, your physical location in the country etc.. but I truly miss those women and wish for more of that in my own life.❤
As a children Pastor I agree 100% to everything you’re saying. I hope parents are watching this because it start with them.
I don't understand why these leaders are so obsessed with KP. In India most Christians consider him a conman who amassed unaccountable wealth from the USA. He might have begun well but the later part of his ministry where he changed his denomination and took on the title of a bishop was all to cover up his unaccountable massive wealth.
One of the few jews we can trust.
Wonderful message
Love this! Jesus has given us His Spirit for Kingdom mission
Confronting a brother about sin is one of the most difficult things. I recently did so with my trainer for the same issue. He proclaims Christ but lives with his girlfriend. I told him I only said something because I care about him and that I'd want him to do the same for me.
Matt 16 has the answer to this problem
Bless yahusha bless father yahuah Jesus christ of nazareth bless you all
Amen brother
is this recent? What is happening with Covid in NYC?
No this is an older video from our archive!
What about someone who has verbally, mentally, and physically abused you your whole life? Do you love them? That's where I struggle
From a distance I guess. I think at that point that person would be "wicked company" so you don't have to be around them
The real enemy of the Israelites are not considered human because they are not Israelite. Have to get the translation of the Bible correct to understand that the israelites are the white Western Europeans. The Canaanites are ashkenazi jews. Truth, Bertrand Comparet
Wow..
Hallelujah!! Discipleship is Jesus’ plan and it works. 🙌🏽
With that hairline??? Gotta get fucked up
Mentorships...mature Christians with newer Christians is a great idea.
A great, informative affirming interview....a great watch --- thank you.
So, if it was GIVEN to Jesus and Jesus is God, who gave it to him?
Thanks guys! Praying for the Lord to do it here in Malaysia 🙏🏾
He wants us to observe the sabbath. The Sabbath is on Saturday, not Sunday.
Good stuff, brother. Resonates for me. mdv ZeroBC
Wow
The truth of God will always be offensive, you cannot make it inoffensive, that depends on the Spirit of God working in the other individual. Like Bill said, "converts come out of conflict"; His truth spoken and shared incites conflict, but brings converts.
could I do master plan of evangelism as a study for my men in leadership? Would it be a good intro for the average layman?
Wow.. so good
Really really needed this right now. Thank you and God bless you!
Manage your time
Great insights Curtis! We have found so much of this to be true as we work with pastors transitioning out of the prevailing model of the church to pioneer movements of disciples and simple churches.
Every church I have come across personally has been filled with people who treat it more like a club and have often never read the Bible. I asked every Pastor at them to describe a Cherub for me and they never can.
A great voice gone too soon! RIP Mandisa.😢
R.I.P. Sweet Sister
In a 2023 Barna study it revealed 70% of Americans call themself Christian 4% of that 70 actually have a Biblical worldview and live accordingly. This means 66% of the professed are only fooling themselves. The hyper grace message has made a lot of 'converts' without real transformation or real discipleship. Go and make disciples, not converts. So in that, the Christian institution doesn't even adhere to historical, Biblical faith. We all must test everything including ourselves to see if we are IN the faith according to the Bible, willing to lay aside traditions of men. We will be judged by deed, not creed.
Are they leaving the faith (denouncing Yeshua) or just leaving the erroneous doctrines of Christianity that don't align with the Bible, but rather are traditions (which are a lot)? This would have to be determined with each individual. If you aren't allowed to challenge the popular consensus the reformation should never have happened, let alone Christianity in general.
Sounds like revelation but okay whatever
From what I have seen of the conservative evangelical faith, it's based on hatred of all kinds of people. places and things -- especially women. God is God. Jesus is Jesus. How you worship doesn't define you. As Tim Walz says, "Mind your own damned business!"
And supposedly church going Christians that spew hate if you don’t vote the way they want to vote. MAGA has really done a number on lots of Christian’s.
Protestantism is doomed to fail because you make every person the leader of their own version of Christianity.
I wish you would have cited some examples about some of the things that they believe
When I turned to God, I had no idea where to go for guidance. My wife asked me if I wanted to go to a local congregation. I told her I didn't know why, but I knew that I was not supposed to do that. I knew I wouldn't understand everything, but I would still understand the simple things. I read the bible a few times and was finally ready to find a church. EVERY preacher I spoke to said God accepted same sex marriages, it was acceptable for women teaching and leading men in the church, and that once a person accepts God that they will be saved even if they revert back to rebellion against God. Even a layman can understand these lies and that these "progressibe" preachers will lead you to hell. One preacher even told me I was "sinning" because I included old testament verses, specifically Leviticus 18, to my children's memory work.
