Great Video! and Great find at the Freight Hardware store. I'm actually running out the door to get them. But I do I have a very serious tip for you. You might want to also invest in C Stands and some studio clamps. (Python Clamp with Stud, Heavy Duty T-Handle), Kupo, Impact, Manfrotto etc etc.... It's going to take your initial investment over $40 dollars for sure. I bought most if not all of my studio light Stands and C Stands used on the internet and ebay. If you're serious about protecting your Photo / Video light investment, you can't go wrong with the proper use of Light stands and C Stands (use sandbags at the bottom) that are designed to keep your lighting equipment standing. Unfortunately, I do see a serous flaw in your vertical light stand design. You designed the foot print in the form of an Isosceles triangle instead of an equilateral triangle foot print that is designed to support the weight equally under the light. Regardless of what types of lights you buy or DIY Hack, you design, you really need reliable Light Stands. "An ounce of prevention is worth a Pound of Cure". There are many Thousands of Dollars of Expensive Studio Lighting in the land-fill simply because they weren't protected by good Studio Practices. "Sandbag on the Back legs of a light stand , opposite of the light direction. " Good Luck and Thank you So much for that find.
