I bought a new rancher 420 irs dct this may. I did swap the wheels and went to 25" tires. It's a great machine. Have already put a couple hundred trail miles on it and used it for setting up deer stands and yard work. Love that thing. Well my wife decided she wants to go ride trails also so I just purchased a new Polaris 450 HO. I haven't got to ride it yet but I'm looking forward to comparing the two myself. Kinda nice to have both honestly because their were things I liked and disliked about each. It will also be interesting to see how they hold up compared to each other long term. I've been riding ranchers for 20 years so I know what to expect out of it. They are traditionally bulletproof machines but I always ran the foot shift models so the dct is new to me. It's fun and simple to ride so hopefully it holds up just as well.

Had left out the big difference. The Sohc has more torque and lower RPM whereas the XP needs to get to a higher RPM before it generates the torque.

They are getting ridiculous with the price on these ATVs and UTVs hell like someone else said you find a nice use 4x4 for the money they're asking.

Next time, compare a 2024 to a 2024.. you are not comparing the same type of vehicle..

While changing the oil on these cars is generally easy....Polaris sure went out of their way to make this car a PITA! Coming from an XP1000, my new car ('24 Turbo R) creates such a mess and like others have stated, the oil filter location is silly with the added hardware/turbo components directly in front of it. What this tech skipped is two very important things....warm the motor before changing (problem with that is it warms the turbo too...beware) and stuffing, what seems to be, at least a half a roll of paper towels under this filter. As you can see in the video, when installing the filter, watch out for the hose clamp and other sharp edges in the area, along with any "hot" components. Frankly, I warm the engine then drain the oil, then wait..........for turbo parts to cool down some before the filter change. Now onto the mess....while I stuffed 3-4 paper towels under the filter, it soon became obvious they did very little when removing the filter, as oil seeped down the sides of the motor resulting in an oil puddle under the car. Not sure how this tech avoided that mess..... good luck!

Avoid turbos on engines whenever you can.

We have a 96 2wd trx300 in service on our farm in the UK it's the only machine that's never broken down they are the terminators on the ATV world they just don't die 😂

Yeah prices are a big deal…. I’ll keep my CFMoto Uforce XL spend some one the accessories, build it to how I want it and buy a trailer and still be $5-8k less than the Defender (that has the same specs), or $20-25k less that the 1500 (I would rather buy a Jeep) But to each their own

My 2017 Polaris has so many issues it’s a joke. I’m afraid to ride it very far from home. I’ll never own another Polaris - too many low quality Chinese parts.

My dealer carries brands and I looked at them over the weekend, the Polaris has a much quieter and sealed cab, the doors close tight and they also lock. The can am doors did not fit tight rattled and don’t lock. I did not like how far forward the can am doors open it’s like you had to step back and around to get in after you open the door. I’m sure Kenny is a more reliable machine but the Polaris seems to be a better design cab for hvac. If I wasn’t concerned with a COI would definitely probably go with the Can-Am.

I have done extensive maintenance on can am and Polaris machines. A former trade that I did for many years I was a master mechanic. This youngster talking about packages is all fine and dandy. One thing he is not talking about is the huge price difference between the two. Polaris $45000 really. My experience the Can am products at least in the mountains of Wyoming hold up far superior to Polaris cheap mostly Chinese parts. If you buy Polaris you are buying a very high cost in maintenance. I for one am finished with Polaris.

Two different vehicles. Defender is more comparable (but better) than the Northstar

The price of all of these things is crazy. They are priced at truck prices. With no accident crumple zones on trun signals horn side impact bars 75 mph cruise speed ect. If your going to price this high you better start adding some stuff.
