Drummer Reuben

Приєднався 2 бер 2006
Reuben is the drummer for Austin TX metal bands MEYVN, IZRAFEL, and WITCH DIARIES. Surrounded by music his entire life, Reuben began taking snare drum lessons at age 15, and excelled in marching, symphonic, and jazz bands during high school and college. Nonetheless he developed most of his drum set abilities on his own, listening passionately to classic rock and metal, and practicing an extreme number of hours per day. As a result, he is able to manipulate complex time signatures, and has achieved levels of speed and accuracy rarely seen. His musicality, dexterity, and smooth execution have been considered impossible to duplicate. Striving to reach the boundaries of musical possibility, Reuben continues to push his limits on the instrument to astonishing new levels.

How do I plug a speaker device to my electric drum kit
Depending on what module you have, there are usually jacks labeled Master Output R & L(mono). Just plug your speaker/amp into the L(mono) output, and that's it!
Wow mars!!!!
What was going on at 4:06?! The drum captain sounded PISSED!
They thought it would be funny to keep me from getting in line. I wasn't pissed about it though 😂
Cool @$$ groove
Bro you are awesome.....seriously...
Tuning drumming rocket science buddy
Love this album❤
Hermoso Lp. !!!
🤘
This is a fuk too long video. You tune but we never hear the results. Not good dude.
Thank you so much dude Thanks from russia
Great work you guys. Important information. When doing great things, like you's are doing, Don't stop, make a life in music. Thank you for the video.
I LOVE YOU BRO, THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS!! 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you. My dad was a drummer. He recently passed. He left me a set of drums that I took apart to transport. I couldn't remember how to get this on. He also had the double bass pedals. So it makes sense now. Really appreciate the video.
I'm a relatively new drummer who was having issues with my hi-hat leg getting in the way. Thanks for this video, it really helped me with adjusting.
👍🏻
I can get a good deal on a set of these but would only buy them to convert to an acoustic kit for backline rental for local/regional opening acts. I'd like to have a kit I can add internal mics to so I can just hit them with an XLR cable and ditch any needed stands for kick and toms. Thoughts? Suggestions? I'm open to ideas
I've never tried using it as an acoustic kit, but I think it'll work fine. I'd say go ahead and try it if you can get the kit cheap enough. If not, then just get a cheap Pearl Export kit.
@drummereub what's a good price and what's a GREAT price for an Export kit with kick, 2 rack toms, and a floor tom?
@@LeeGibsonSings Used good price $3-500. Great price less than $300.
Nice vid. I did go for the sizzle :)
Fun. Like the visuals too!
Does the tune bot come with a chart for recommended tuning hertz for each drum?
No, but it's available online.
Great, thank you@@drummereub
Thank you man you solved me a Big problem with muy hihat and left pedal
I am about to possibly buy this clutch. Does it give a tight sounding closed hi-hat when engaged or does it sound more washy no matter how toght you put it?
Which one? The Tama?
@@drummereub Yes. Sorry, I should have specified. The Tama Sizzle Drop Clutch
@@matthew.chase2112 The Tama Sizzle won't keep your hi-hat closed tightly, you'd still need to do that with your foot. It only lets you control the amount of wash, or sizzle when engaged. Hopefully that helps!
I'm a new self-taught drummer but long time musician. I don't know any of the additional hardware outside of my $200 craigslist trash set but this is totally a nifty little piece of equipment. I'm glad you showcased. Going to pick up one of those high hat bass drum clamps.
lol bro I am in the exact same position as you, I even also paid $200 for the set lol
@@siliconrockstar187 what color is it ......... 🤣
Does the mounting with H830 work pretty good until i can maybe invest in a two leg stand? My new double bass set came H830 and need a month or so to save up for a two leg stand.
Yes! It works perfectly. You probably won't even need a 2 leg stand.
@@drummereub Thanks so much for the reply! I will let you know how it does once I get it setup
I need help, I have a snare drum Gretsch - Silver series maple 14 x6,5, a few lugs have damaged thread inside and is losing after tuning, do you know where can I find them for replacement ? I tried everywhere to all music shops in Norway and they don't have it. Thomann also doesn't have it, any advice will be good for me. I am not a specialist in drums, my son is the drummer.
You need to replace the Swivel Nut Inserts. They are designed to replace missing or stripped swivel nuts on toms or a snare drum. These fit with most snare drums and toms, and help keep your drums tuned up and working properly. gibraltarhardware.com/products/sc-ln-small-swivel-nut-inserts-for-snare-tom-drum-lug-12-pack
Thank you.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge!🙏🏻 Greetings from Spain🇪🇸
Its great that you have number to tune too....thats most of the battle...Go to tunebot Artists tune guide...and find a favorite drummer sound...and copy there numbers to your drums...THEN FINE TUNE TO YOUR TASTE..😊
my module doesn't have "mix in" connector.. only "aux in". Is it also ok?
Yes, it's the same thing. Mix or Aux 👍
Holy shit I have those exact pedals. Had them over 10 years now.
My alesis nitro shorts out my phone. I can only play for 7 mins then when i grab my ohone it shuts off then i get weird noises when powered back on.
Weird! I've never heard of that happening before 😳
@@drummereub driving me nuts lol. It's like the cord in the aux wiggles and my phone goes all wacky
@@offswitch1 Have you tried a new aux cord?
@@drummereub yes 1st was from Amazon second is Walmart crap.
@@offswitch1 Maybe the aux input on the module is no good. You say it wiggles around when plugged in.
Hi Srumner Reuben I searched everywhere for a solution/tutorial/instructions on the internet as well as in the install guide. But as I plug in my cable in both my phone, and my Donner DED-200 nothing happens - my phone doesn't recocnize the aux input device (which it does, when I connect it to my over-ear headset). I'd really appreciate if you had any suggestion for this. Thanks in advance.
Unplug the cable from both ends, restart the phone and drum module, then plug back in. Make sure both ends are plugged all the way in. If there's a case on the phone, try removing it. If you've already tried all that, I can't think of any other fixes. Never heard of that happening before! Let me know if you find a solution.

Niceee 🔥🔥
Mine doesn't have a mix spot. Does it work if i use aux in?
Yes, Aux in should work 👍👍
@drummer rueben, where are you based out of?
Austin Texas
Very nice set. Looks like two epro

I'm a beginner drummer. I have about 20 hours of practice on an acoustic kit. I just bought a td-17kvx2. I'm struggling to play on it. The pads seem very bouncey. I suppose it'll just take practice. Here's my question for you. Aren't you worried about the cymbals marking up your sticks and then ripping up the mesh pads? I've read you shouldn't use drum sticks from and acoustic kit just because of that reason.
You should use nylon tip drum sticks to prevent damage to the mesh heads. Also don't use a felt bass drum beater, use plastic. A lot of beaters can be flipped over to use the felt or plastic side. The mesh heads do have a different rebound than normal drum heads, but it just takes a little adjustment. You'll get used to it, just keep playing!
@@drummereub I have nylon tipped sticks for the ekit and I'll use different sticks on the acoustic. I have the td-10 kick drum with my kit. Apparently it's not actually a mesh head. I reached out to a couple guys about using a felt beater. It's ok to use it on these kick drums but it's recommended to use a patch either way which I did. Thanks for the response.
Is it necessary to use that device? You seem experienced enough to just use your ears.
It isn't absolutely necessary to use tune-bot. I tuned without it for most of my life. It's just easier to tune every lug to the desired frequency using tune-bot along with listening. On a set with a lot of toms, the intervals between drums can be tuned more consistently this way.
@@drummereub Makes sense. Great video too!
Thanks so much for watching!@@StuartJrBarrett
DUDEEE YOU ARE A LIFESAVER BLESS YOUUU
Great review of both. Thank you
Thanks, great tip(s). High-hat opening wider away from you never thought about it but good idea, lots of good stuff. Thank you!
Just play your high hat with your left hand. Simon Phillips, Billy Cobham do it. Just move your high hat off to the left.
Then you can't do eights right the pedal or all the intricate hi hat work.
I got a Gibraltar clutch a while ago so I could double pedal my bass drum, best thing I ever did‼️✌️
I recently ordered one, but not for double bass drumming its mostly for songs like lonely day so i can hold the hihat more tight during the verse and be able to play around with the pedal for different sounds, and then also have the losely closed hihat during the heavy parts
I have the leather records and Elektra records.... One Bad Ass Band Back then
Yep i still have this lp
