Dark matter is dilated mass. Mass that is dilated is smeared through spacetime relative to an outside observer. It's the phenomenon our high school teachers were talking about when they said "mass becomes infinite at the speed of light". A graph illustrates its squared nature, dilation increases at an exponential rate the closer you get to the speed of light. Time dilation is just one aspect of dilation. Dilation occurs wherever there is an astronomical quantity of mass. This includes the centers of very high mass stars and the overwhelming majority of galaxy centers. The mass at the center of our own galaxy is dilated. This means that there is no valid XYZ coordinate we can attribute to it, you can't point your finger at something that is smeared through spacetime. In other words that mass is all around us. Dilation does not occur in galaxies with low mass centers because they do not have enough mass to achieve relativistic velocities. It has been confirmed in 6 very low mass galaxies including NGC 1052-DF2 and DF4 to have no dark matter. In other words they have normal rotation rates. All planets and all binary stars have normal rotation rates for the same reason.

Interesting perspective! While dark matter and mass dilation are related to gravity, dark matter itself doesn’t seem to rely on relativistic effects like dilation. It's still a mystery but behaves differently in various systems, even where time dilation isn’t significant.

@@chansaikEinstein explained dark matter in the 1939 journal "Annals of Mathematics" - "The essential result of this investigation is a clear understanding as to why the Schwarzchild singularities (Schwarzchild was the first to raise the issue of General Relativity predicting singularities) do not exist in physical reality. Although the theory given here treats only clusters (star clusters) whose particles move along circular paths it does seem to be subject to reasonable doubt that more general cases will have analogous results. The Schwarzchild singularities do not appear for the reason that matter cannot be concentrated arbitrarily. And this is due to the fact that otherwise the constituting particles would reach the velocity of light." He was referring to the phenomenon of dilation. He is known to have repeatedly spoken about this. Nobody believed in them when he was alive including Plank, Bohr, Schrodinger, Dirac, Heisenberg, Pauli, Feynman etc. What we see in modern astronomy has been known since 1925. This is when the existence of galaxies was confirmed. It was clear that there should be an astronomical quantity of light emanating from our own galactic center. Dilation is the original and correct explanation. The "missing mass" needed to explain galaxy rotation curves is dilated mass.

In 1939, Einstein published a notable paper titled "On a Stationary System with Spherical Symmetry Consisting of Many Gravitating Masses" in the Annals of Mathematics (Vol. 40, 1939). However, this paper did not address dark matter. Instead, it focused on gravitational systems and contributed to the understanding of black holes and relativistic objects, specifically ruling out the possibility of certain stable configurations of dense masses, which are now recognized as singularities or black holes. Dark matter, as a concept, emerged later, and Einstein’s work in 1939 didn’t deal with it directly. It was Fritz Zwicky's observations around the same period that began to hint at the existence of dark matter due to gravitational effects that could not be explained by visible mass alone.

@@chansaik Einstein's reasoning on why singularities do not exist is solid, it's not a matter of opinion they don't exist. A mathematical singularity is the basis for black hole theory. Black holes were popularized by television and movies beginning in the 1960's, there was clarity in astronomy before this happened. Einstein explained in 1939 that wherever there is an astronomical quantity of mass dilation will occur. This means that the mass in our galactic center is not just there, it's everywhere. This is the elephant in the room explanation for dark matter.
