Brain fart - That Fleur De Lis, just makes me think Mardi Gras and Mardi Gras makes me think party. Just imagine using something like a 6" by 3" cake pan, and covering it with clay. Then after it's baked, make a tube out of thin cardboard to go in the inside to support the Fleur De Lis being added with Bake and bond. Once finished could be used as a candy dish for foil wrapped candies or the base for a centerpiece.

Just a couple of ideas. The larger crown could be easily turned into a Mardi Gras table decoration, by just using either colored metallic paint or mica. Tall glass in oven issue, place in a bed of corn starch to prevent the flattening. The crown ring box, just an opinion, but the width to height ratio feels off. Think it needs to be a bit shorter for that diameter. To make the lid fit better, maybe after baking the bottom, cut a thick cardboard round a tad smaller than the opening, then attach it to the foil ball. This way the lid would fix into the bottom part.

Molly, what type of glue do you use to make the tiles stick to the wood? Also do you seal the box with something before gluing the tiles on?

Try cutting your tiles on a glazed ceramic tile instead of wax paper. Unless this is your preferred method.
