Great review, love how it sounds. Technically this mic does have a mute function. However, since you did not load any software it might not have been apparent to you. when you use the Rode Connect software pressing the volume wheel in will mute the mic. I would have loved a dedicated button for this as well as some type of indicator that is visible when you are muted. Maybe on a gen 2 version in the future. I'd of paid extra for such features.

Just bought one of these as I'm downsizing my setup from an interface and xlr mics to just usb. Allows me to remove clutter from the desk and reduce cable spaghetti. To my ears on your vid it sounded better via usb which is a relief! Having watched a few other vids it seems you can get it dialled in even further with the Rode software, but good to know that might not even be necessary. Looking forward to getting it all set up!

A lot of this mic are defective. A bunch of them die after some time and a lot others (via USB) keep disconnecting. Have you ever had this problem? THis mic is really good, but it has become a nightmare for a lot of people. Really sad!

Hey thanks for bringing this to my attention! Honestly this is the first I've heard of this issue. I use my own one all the time and even carry it into the office to use for work and so far had no problems. I primarily use the USB connection too with both the included RODE cable and my own USB C cables. My only advice would be to check warranties and contact RODE.

Hello. There is one information I need, I searched but I could not find the answer. Currently my microfon draws outer sounds too much. I just want it to draw my voice from close, not other sounds like my chair’s squeak for instance. How can i arrange it in the settings ? I have only usb cable, I connect it to the pc directly.

Hey, sounds like you need to lower the gain. Some mics have a dial that lets you turn it down. You can also go into your PC settings and look for input volume and try turning that down. Hope that helps
