I really love the ornamentation which you've added to this version of your flute recording for this tune. :-)
A cracking tune vibrantly played! I'm glad you added the word "Polka" to the title, though, because this melody's name would otherwise be a bit unfortunate. :-)
Beutifull
Very nicely played!
A lovely job with a lovely polka!

Was 9 at the home of friends of my parents in Westchester NY. I grew up in Queens. The family we were visiting had a piano in their living room. My Tyrone grandfather ( Mom's dad who lived w us) taught me to play Shoe The Donkey that day I was playing Chopsticks and drove him mad!!, That tine always stayed w me though we had no piano. In the Sand House hotel in Rossnowlagh Donegal in 1983 there was a piano in an empty room. I played the tune fir my daughter then 13 Outside in the hallway on that rainy day sat a group of older women. Two called me over " Were you the one who played Shoe The Donkey just now in that room? You 're a Yank. Who taught you?" " My Tyrone grandfather I. 1957. I haven't played it since. Always, wanted,to play the piano. Never had the chance." They smiled and said," He d be pleased Is,he still here?" "No he left us in 1972 We re going to his town tomorrow. He and his mother left in 1901." They nodded and smiled Ine gave me a hug A,few years later I took step dancing lessons here in CT and learned that dance. Mom was gone by then too but I danced it with her friend in her apartment in Astoria. Ny She net Mon when they were 12 The family came from the next town Sion Mills. The dance teacher who taught me said," The music goes through you Margaret You know the song Mary From Dunloe right? Well I taught a Mary from Dunloe and you are just like her the music is in you." I sometimes come online and listen to this song and to the other video seeing people do this dance Thank you for putting this out there. It.
