Based on this explanation, sounds like best to run no foam in the front, with foam in the rear for my defender TRX4M because they're known to be rear heavy. That'll give better frot tire grip which it needs, but remain stiff in rear so as you go up a climb the rear won't sag as much causing a flip. Slightly nose down bias based on the foam. Also can just trim the foam so it's half as thick so you retain sidewall strength but gain contact patch on surface

Nice vid! I got the same truck, and i used some Axial 10 and 10-2 parts and shocks im goin with some dessert lizards in 100 mil if i remember correctly, lol. I also used Axial bumper mounts for the rear apex bumper i got and front bumper has the curved bars for mounts. Hope this helps i do have some vids on it so if you have any ?s feel free to hit me up! You got to take it on the grass. It was so good bc of the tracks, could go offroad way better than other rc of the time.

Great build but you could think about making the weight proportionate aka increase the weight. The visual effects of rolling and moving mass can hardly be simulated. Maybe put in some lead weight?

A year later, they're still holding up?

I have the original one an my biggest complaint about it is that is two slow an this new one looks way better.

This set did come out in 1986, though I believe the locomotive was released individually in 1983, and may have possibly appeared in a couple other train sets between, though I could be mistaken, so don't quote me on that. It was at least designed in 1983.
