Anthony Cotter Finance
Приєднався 18 лип 2020
Hi I’m Anthony and I like finance.
I am a finance professional who has been immersed in the financial world for a decade, having worked for hedge funds and private equity companies investing in everything from stocks to distressed debt to real estate. In these roles I have transacted hundreds of millions of pounds of assets. Personally, I have been buying stocks for over a decade and love everything to do with the financial markets.
My aim with my channel is to help everyone get comfortable with finance and investing your money, as I see this as an essential skill everyone should learn, that unfortunately isn’t taught at school. Investing is the key to long term wealth which everyone can achieve.
Let’s go on this finance education journey together.
Big love
Anthony

So cash isn’t physical? It’s the amount on your account?
Thank you for the Video. One of the best video about CFA. I passes CFA level I but I failed level 2.I like how you mentioned about the opportunity cost of doing CFA exam.As a single man,I there are things like your daily work routine and relationship issued that needed to be solved.I have to find more spare time after doing that two thing.I also glad that only few percentage of people who is doing the CFA exam can pass all level at the first try.At least that I am not by my self
They are planning on shrinking them further by the end of the year. They won't be worth buying soon unless they make them cheaper.
It’s actually a Certification, not a Qualification..lol
Definitely a good review. The one what I looked for. I would like to ask you to compare CFA vs CQF (Certificate in Quantitative Finance)? I am really in a deadlock, cannot decide which one to study.
Thank you!! nice video!!
2:42 I have to disagree. On top of the costs you mention, to maintain your CFA credential you need to spend about 350 USD per year on average. Assuming an individual works 35 years after his CFA (gained at age of 30) it means that has to spend additional 12K dollars. Adding on average 3k exam costs it means it takes about 15k dollars overall. Anyway, still cheaper in comparison to top MBA worldwide (around 100k)
Damn
Whatever you say Jimmy Fallon, na actually thanks!
How many levels did you pass and in how many attempts?
Good job, so proud
Is the pass rate due to people not knowing finance in general i.e. they do not have a Bachelor of finance degree? Or it is still difficult for a person who has obtained a Finance degree?
I’m going through it now, it’s no joke just sooo much to get through
Yeah because stock and crypto are killing rn
Yes 100%
Amazing video sir. Thank you. I am planning to pursue my CPA but this was very insightful. Any thoughts on the CPA?
🙃 "promosm"!
Especially when your yung, if your to old its not worth it becuase you won't live long enough for the next high..
Also, the Government lowered the threshold for 45% to £125000 but on your video it shows £150000?
Great video, mate! Thank you.
Good information ✌️🤩
Thanks 😊
This is generally horrible advice. These are things you can invest in, that's true, but you didn't really cover MANY of the stuff you need to know about those kinds of investments. Yeah it's a short, shouldn't advise of these things in a short unless you're plugging a full form explanatory video on it.
None of this is advice and I am not recommending one investment over the other, it is just an indication that there are more types of investments out there than just real estate as real estate is many peoples default. Many people don’t know how different assets work and understanding what is out there and how they can earn from it can make a huge difference.
@@anthonycotterfinance5094 I agree. I personally feel like the best investment is spending time and money on learning high value skills. That will open up more investment opportunities long term. Learn software development, engineering, become a pilot, etc etc. Find something you enjoy that pays well, and go do it. Even if you don't have a diploma there is a path to success.
@@imgingergiraffe3731 couldn’t agree more. Investing in yourself is the best investment you can make. Finding a skill that aligns with your interest makes a huge difference. I am definitely a huge believer that people don’t need diplomas to succeed. Interests and passion matter so much more.
@@anthonycotterfinance5094 the thing that stops alot of people. They get hooked on 1 particular dream or passion, and that's a lot of risk. It's better to keep your interests open, it doesn't have to be your absolute favorite thing to do but it should be interesting and valuable.
@@imgingergiraffe3731 so true. You should check out the book Range really highlights the concept of breadth, a good read.
Dunno, stock market is more valuable with someone who can make you a sustainable time oriented well diversified portfolio, Bond market in general is something I would not recommend and Crypto is very shady, with even experienced investors falling for scams. I believe that investments should be based on personal interest, and can start very small. My assets on the stock market bring in a consistent but not high dividend and are managed by a good friend who has experience in that field. My best and most profitable investments however are items of interest: Artworks my art historian parents bought of auctions way under normal price. Tea I brought from China, which would go for tens of thousands now. A gold watch I acquired during my watchmaking education. A woodworker might invest in carvings, a prospector into uncut gems, but the markets, especially crypto are not for everyone
Certainly so many different ways to invest and there is not one size fits all. Most people would look at real estate as a financial asset and there are many different assets which can be more appropriate for an individual’s needs.
I have not been able to see a link for the 6 mths offer. Can you explain
Where is cam ?
CFA VS CQF can you explain difference
I'm in BBA 2nd year. Can you tell me exactly what I'd have to do to become a Charter Holder from here on out?
Are you still holding ehang mate ? Is ehang the reason you disappeared ??
He is not holding the stock anymore, however, he is holding balls…. Last I heard he is doing gay for pay
I love that analogy
Cash gives me flexibility to do stuff right now
So many new finance books! Love this list! Thank you very much for sharing it!
Where is Cam? I miss his videos
He’s doing gay porn now. DM me and I will send you the link
Was he a scam? Nothing there from Cam anymore
He had no idea what he was talking about and when prices began normalizing after the pandemic pump he disappeared to save his reputation.
Awesome summary of a CFA, looking forward to more content Anthony
This is a good one, traders with no experience in financial markets repeat the same mistakes that cost them dearly
Although successful trading takes a lot of hard work, self discipline and determination, obeying just a few simple rules will result in much better performance even for beginners that is why I humbly recommend Mr Remy Willock he is indeed the man behind my weekly profiting
his trade system,he ensure safe investment and better risks management
His trade execution quality and profiting is well structured with great financial features
I admire his his trade simplicity a lot and his ability to utilize your investment and ensure it’s profitable at the end
I’m from Denmark and I’m also a newbie in the online trading market so please how can I get hold of Mr Willock and his trading services
AGREED WITH ALL BUT THE ANECDOTE OF BOSS LOVING YOUR CFA... WELL.... THINK AGAIN. ESPECIALLY IF THE BOSS IS NOT A CFA CHARTERHOLDER
Disagree mine isn’t & he appreciates it.
Hello, can you please explain the post CFA continuing education? i can't understand it how does it work exactly
Thanks for the video. Can u do a comparison between CFA and other designations as FRM, CAIA & CIPM and if it is worthly to have multiple of them??
Thanks for dropping the knowledge Anthony!
Would you recommend doing the CFA level one while studying for your postgrad? I Will be studying Finance - Asset Management so I'm certain there will be some overlap between the two. Essentially I'm thinking it will give me an edge in job interviews
Definitely. There will be a good overlap and based on what you study it will help differentiate you from other. I would just make sure that you have the time to do both depending on your workload of your postgrad. Good luck!
Hi! Excellent video. I am 56 years old. Do you think it is a handicap to be older and go for the CFA? Thank you.
Not at all. May not progress you career the same way if you were junior, but being older will not hinder your ability to pass the exams at all.
@@anthonycotterfinance5094 thanks a lot! 🙂
Best summary video of CFA I’ve watched 👌🏼
Thank you for your kind words Mohamed. Glad you found it useful.
absolutely yes
I have two questions. I personally have two years of retail banking experience and was wondering what I would have to do to make myself marketable to capital market divisions and investment firms. Also another question would be would learning Python and R benefit me especially that we're moving towards AI in the next 10 years?
For your first question, make sure that you show you are interested in finance, good excel modelling skills and meet people from those area so you have a good understanding of the role. For your second question, I do not know.
I work in a capital markets team at an investment firm. Like Anthony said, excel modeling matters. Also, make sure you’re familiar with business intelligence (Power BI, Tableau, Salesforce, etc.) and that you have experience that attests of your work ethic.
Hello Anthony, I am a from India and loved you content. I'm a persuing graduation and very passionate about Finance and Capital markets, real estate so i had decided to persue to get more deep knowledge in the world of Finance and currently working on advance excel skills and Financial modeling and valuation. In future Can I get the internships after level1 or level2?
Hi Kshitiz, that is great work. As you’re passionate about finance keep it up. You may be surprised that you might not need level 1 or 2 before you get an internship. So don’t think that you need the qualifications before the internship. Good luck!
@@anthonycotterfinance5094 A millon thanks to you Anthony
I think the CFA made me more discipline somehow. I became way more productive when I started doing it.
Well done. Definitely makes you focus on your time management.
❤ from India..
Thanks for sharing this fantastic video. Is it possible to get in touch with you via email somehow?I have few questions which i think you might know the answers or to give me an advice if its not too cheeky ta
I’ve seen so many videos on this subject and this was the best. Great work.
Thanks Trevor . Much appreciated
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
I'm taking level 1 in November. Any tips for me?
Do as many exams and practice questions as possible. Don't try to rewrite the notes.
How do you withdraw your money?
So someone looking to get into the field of finance should pursue the CFA? I’m confused. You mentioned that someone who doesn’t have a background in finance shouldn’t pursue ithe CFA and towards the end you mentioned that someone who is young and interested in getting a career in finance should pursue the CFA. Could you clarify? Maybe I misunderstood. Great video!
That is a fair question. What I mean is that if you are just starting your career in finance then it is great and will help you further your knowledge quickly. However, if you have no relevant background in anything finance related then taking CFA won't be your golden ticket into the finance industry after you have been working in a completely different industry with no cross over in skill or experience.
@@anthonycotterfinance5094 thanks Anthony!
@@anthonycotterfinance5094 Why? I'm just coming out of the military and moving into finance and have found the fact that I am half way through the CFA to be immensely useful.
@@rc3769 that is amazing work. The CFA is really useful to build your understanding. The qualification will certainly open doors but consider an example where there are two candidates going for the same job, 1 has 4 years of finance experience and no CFA, the other has no finance experience but the CFA. Just because someone has the qualification does not mean that they are hired. The CFA qualification can help get through the first screening but is unlikely that it is the sole reason someone is hired.
@@anthonycotterfinance5094 gotcha thanks
