This guy is a force of nature. He is absolutaly my favourite artist out there. I think He is the most talented man as musician becouse He is one of those that really feel the music inside of him. He just spread out a part of his life experience through the singing to create supernatural sonority. He is so dedicated to his work and share to other people what He really came to learn from life.
I sing Sweet Adeline by Avi Kaplan

Hello singers and hello everyone, My name is Nick and today I tried to sing sweet adeline by Avi Kaplan in a low key I hope you enjoy it.
Incredible work with this video, I didn't know there are Shawn James fans that are this passionate. I'll have to add something to this video tho. There is a video of Shawn playing The Devil's Daughters long before the song was released, in this version he goes up to a C5 and tries reaching a crazy D5 in his chest voice that is pretty much screaming at this point but you can get the note from that, it's at 26:50 here ua-cam.com/video/-H8fwfkBwoM/v-deo.htmlsi=hajstXRzYE1UTe7P . And for his lowest low, he goes down to a D#2 in this video at 7:15 ua-cam.com/video/vrYvDWDe2_Y/v-deo.htmlsi=FxuXhQoii4x4HyNg . This is the wanderer in Eb but now he plays it in D standard so he is reaching a D2, I could not find a video showing this but I can tell you for certain because I saw him live a couple of months ago
@@chris26592 You are damn right dude I checked those parts I never listened these clips. He has an amazing vocal range I knew that He could reach D2 but He don't usually do maybe becouse He loses a lot of volume down there. I didn't know for the screamed D5 that it's actually crazy. Anyway yes I'm really passionate of this dude I know every single song that He did I think that there are very few artists that can be compared to him. Unfortunately He is very underrated but He deserve so much more. His lyric style is unique with a deep meaning and it's out of everything that I ever listened
@ yeah same, I literally know how to sing and play on the guitar every single one of his songs, his music influenced my life a lot. I have also made a playlist of his best live performances in my opinion check it out ua-cam.com/play/PLbgKe8GHPzueMleGR1N56477f4i84mThK.html&si=jP7BzIZ0x2kKIr7T

falsete não conta pow
Doesn't count in a opera context but also the falsetto is an indicator of our vocal range. The falsetto has a limit like our chest mechanism. I found out from myself that basses can go up a G5/A5 in falsetto some baritones can reach also the C6 and tenors can go way higher up to F6 and can sing like sopranos using the falsetto.
Phenomenal*
Right, I used the F becouse in italian we say "fenomenale" so I confused it with the italian term
I'm left speechless ... 💟
Him and Tim Foust sound awesome
Dude this is fabulous 👌 👏 👍
!! wouah nice one my friend have a great day and stay rock n roll :D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good stuff brother
Great singing brother!!🎸
@@RickHardcore thanks brother! 🔥
The most amazing thing is how he sings those 3rd octave notes as though they are high notes. A true bass, extremely rare. Guys like Tim, Geoff and Adam Chance can go extremely low but they dont have the true bass tessitura and passagio like Avi does.
Hi @imnik98 . Can you do Tim Foust? Thanks.
I thought to do it but there are already a lot of videos about him
@@imnik98 his videos were old. it should be updated. hahaha
@@ranmanzongold7310 Maybe I could do in my way but we'll see
What's the song at 3:04?
It's Sweet Adeline lower version
Where did you get the videos at 3:21 and 4:08?
The first one is taken by his low version of when I'm a fool that it's on fender channel. The second shot is taken by one of his instagram/tik tok livestreams.
Absolutely Great !!! Thank you for putting this together!
Excellent video! Avi deserves recognition for his talent.
Enough with the explanations; you’re over selling him; he using vocal fry
Nope everything that you listen is not produced by that mechanism. He is able to lower his voice naturally above A1 entirely in chest mechanism. First of all vocal fry sounds totally different. If you listen carefully with your headphones the last note (A1) pay attention on the sound that He does. His vocal chords vibrates in the full tract and not just a portion like happens in the vocal fry. Vocal fry is essentially a very poor sound without any support of the diaphgram. When He does those notes He is still connected with his breathing support and you can hear volume generated by the full vibration of the vocal chords. It's a difficult concept to explain but stay sure that what He does is not vocal fry. He sings naturally He don't force anything to sing like that.
Oh my God, This is the true Bass G4
how about tim foust???
It’s freaky, hiss bass sounds like a really deep tenor voice because it’s so warm and unforced!
AVI Kaplan have a G1, in some music of pentatonix, but I dont remenber the name kkjj
Avi Kaplan can get in the best days F1 but He usually have a low A. (These are his words)
@@imnik98 Its strange, today there are a lots of training method that could resolv this, his high range stars in F#3 probaly and he can go to G#4 confortable, but hi dont wanna this he is probaly satisfied.....
About the bass flexible voice, Is totally possíble that a bass reach this high notes, but the voice will have a super diferente sound and texture in high notes this the only problem, heavy high notes.....
Bro definately has the best timbre. But it is not very low like geoff. Geoff is hitting F1 chest these days.
Avi Kaplan has not only the best timbre, He is the lowest existent in contemporary music (not in confront to opera singers). Maybe just Luke Taylor (the american idol guy) can match Avi and I think He is also more lower and resonant, the closest one to be considered a profundo. Avi is not a profundo but is considerably lower to be considered a full bass. Geoff instead is not more than a bass baritone. Now you will say how He can be less lower than Avi if He can do lower notes than Avi? Let's talk about vocal approch. Geoff is not a singer that can reproduce what He does in every situation. He sings always on mic when He reaches notes like A1 and F1. He said himself this thing "If you could hear me in a live situation you will be surprised for the difference that I can make". Geoff loses his resonance around D2 C#2 this means that He does not possess a good amount of volume in that point to be considered a true bass voice. Infact His bass voice becomes really apparent when He goes in a higher zone of his voice. Avi Kaplan sings A1 naturally that's the difference. If only wanted to go lower than that with Geoff's technique He could sing also notes like C1 better and resonant than Geoff. Avi just does not sing like that He sings in the most natural way. He did in the past when He was in the acappella group and sometimes He still likes to add some extra low notes in the background of his songs. But it's not a thing that He does live becouse it would be inefficient.
Honestly I respect Avi but he is nothing compared to existences like Eric Holloway, Mikhail zlapotosky, and Glenn Miller and other ovtavists and bassso profundo.
@@BangYongguk-sf8ly this is why I didn't compared him with opera singers
@@BangYongguk-sf8lyWell yeah, those are quite literally three of the lowest Basso Profundo out there lmao.
@@imnik98 Hi! Love your video and hope you're doing great! Since your channel is mainly about voices and you are interested on them, I Just wanted to say that both Avi and Geoff are definitely profundos, and so are Luke Taylor and Bobby Waters (just not oktavists, at least at this date). At this point, Avi probably has a Bb1 projectable in choir setting (B1 for sure), and his C2 is good enough for opera (and so is his timbre). I'd even say that the C2 seems to come easier for him than to lots of professional operatic profundos out there. Same applies to Geoff. I don't care if Geoff says he's a bass-baritone or baritone with good low notes, he simply is not. I know its his voice so only he's the only one that really knows what's going on down there, but with all due respect, he doesn't know what he's talking about. Maybe he's comparing himself to people like John Ames and thinks that is what a natural bass should sound like, but this is not how it works! These people are literally the lowest singers on the planet, they are extremely low profundos, like a fifth lower than normal ones. In addition, I sing opera and choral, I know voices and constantly sing with different people, I am also a bass myself, so trust me! If I were to decide the exact operatic fach of the people I just mentioned (and this is the speculative part, since I've not heard enough operatic technique from them), Avi, Geoff and Bobby would be lyric profundos, while Luke seems to be a lot more resonant, so maybe I'd call him a dramatic profundo. Ames is for sure a very low and dramatic profundo (not speculative), his voice is very powerful and the higher frequencies become very intense and clear when he sings.
A true master of his crafts! ❤ Anyone who isn't listening to Chris Stapleton is missing out! ❤
Geoff Castellucci is better.
Based on what?
@imnik98 The ability to hear, the difference and ease to which his voice just sounds and is factually deeper, and his overall range. Pick your favorite.
What a pleasant video to watch, really! Good job.
Tim foust also got a big vocal range. amazing when you listen I can't help falling in love from him
I know his version of that song and it's very beautiful. His tone is incredibile!
Wow I didn't know he could sing so high! He truly is an amazing singer!
For his voice singing that high is unbelievable. Also baritones struggle on those peaks.
Excellent!
is it weird that I can sing low as him as a 14 yr?
It's genetic also Avi had his vocal change at 14 years old, He told that in a interview. He also said that in the middle of the 8th and 9th grade He had that change and the second year all of his friends looked at him and said: why are you talking weird? I sing in the Avi tonality too I'm actually a bari/bass. My voice dropped more later, when I was 16/17 and now I have 25 and my voice became thicker compared to my first drop. If you have only 14 years old your voice will become for sure more present and resonant in the adult age.
WHAT ABOUT "HIGHER"?
The last album is amazing but I don't have any clips becouse it's a new album. We have only It Takes A Woman that is an old written song He wrote and White Horse live.
Avi has a voice like melted chocolate. Seriously smooth with an amazing warmth
I really regret, that he is no more member of the Pentatonix. Country music is under his niveau... sorry, absolutely appreciate him as a singer
I personally prefer more him now, becouse I think that He is way too talented to be just a member of a group. He has so much too show, He is a pure heart, a free spirit. If He still was in that group We couldn't never have the opportunity to know him for what He really is. He would be behind the scenes without a real identity.
Another great singer, one of the greats . I love all of his songs. And his morals, nothing like the terrible music they play now .
He sings with his soul and puts a lot of energy in his sound. You can really feel the pain of his heart. He just let it out all the suffering the good and the bad, He is a singer that really express himself with music. This is what we call music, expression, feelings. This is art.
Here's Chris' actual highest recorded belt that I've found, he reaches an E6 (plays Fire Away a half-step higher than normal): ua-cam.com/video/XqzGYXkYQBM/v-deo.htmlm38s
In this video He does max C#5 a semitone higher than C5 the shot that I used in my video. I never checked that video but in any case I used the notes that He usually hits. He does not go very often higher than a C5 and if He does it's just for a semitone I guess. He is a medium tenor, belting higher than a C5 is not healthy for him.
🍭 Is he married with kids??
No He is single
@@imnik98 : ) Nice 👍
Ecco qui, il basschad ha fatto un nuovo video :D
AMAZING VID! His voice is truly unique and he can do some serious vocal gymnastics when he’s in the mood 😂
He really use his voice like an instrument
One of the best basses in the music industry
For me the best showcase is his duet with Peter Hollens - "Black is the colour of my true love's hair" He goes honey high and purry low. I can feel myself getting goosebumps every time I listen.
Hello everyone first of all I want thank all those who appriciated my video you're welcome. Let me know if there are other favorite singers you’d like to know about vocal type and range
Thank you so much for this great video. Do you know Dimash Kudaibergen? His vocal range is insane!!!
Geoff Castellucci is better
There are no better voices than others but just preferences. Peace ✌
@@imnik98 Of course there are better voices than others, those who are born with the gift of them, those who study, those who have a better timbre, etc. Only someone who has a good ear to listen knows that.
@@kevinlara813 in my opinion i can very well tell you that I prefer avi Kaplan than Geoff
@@rikisalva2007did you know geoff uses video editing to make his voice sound lower in his videos (source: voice play beatboxer layne stein) which is why his famous low notes such as Ab1/G1 aren't as loud without a microphone compared with voices such as. avi and tim
(EXTREMELY LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER)
Amazing singer and artist love him dearly thank you Avi 💚🌹☘️👌♥️
His low voice is so smooth, full, and round that I honestly think no one else has as good of a tone/timbre as him when he’s in the second and first octave.
I agree but I think that there is one guy that can match Avi and it gives to me a similiar vibe and that guy is Luke Taylor. Avi for me has the most majestic and warm sound when He project a sustained full chest note. Luke instead gives to me a more profundo vibe and maybe He is a little bit more cold but there is something similiar in the projection of both.
@@imnik98 I'd say Bobby Bass sounds more similar to Avi's voice
@@nightspicer just to be clear I was not talking about vocal timbre. Vocal timbres are often different and does not help you to find a true similiar voice that's why I personally would not rate "similiar" a voice just by hearing the timbre. I know Bobby He is a fantastic trained bass singer and I know what you are talking about. Maybe He can sound similiar in terms of timbre but He is not more than a bari/bass. His voice is naturally more lighter than the sound that He tends to assume. His voice works just differently. He is one of those voices that is mostly baritone but is lower than the usual that's why we call voices like that bass baritones. They have access to both the registers. Bass baritones often are mainly baritones with a darker and lower tone that makes you perceive that bass vibe but They are not basses entirely. Mostly I based my comparison of Avi and Luke more on the vocal shape and vocal weight. Their voices works in a similiar way becouse they need to carry all the darkness out also on the high register. This is why They are full basses. This does not happen in voices like Geoff Castellucci, Tim Foust, Bobby and others basses out there becouse They are mostly bari/basses with a great and wide bass range.
@@nightspicer Agree
