Moved into this area 5 years ago and juat discovered this. Would love to run it with someone who knows the river. I run an IK. Have run up to class V. But i prefer to explore a new river with someone who knows it the first time.

That is what I think of on a creek run: lots of tight spots surrounded by rock walls. I would love to do that one someday.

Looks like fun. I have done from Moonshine down several times, and next time I want to start up just ahead of the quarry section and take out one bridge above Sams. Silache looks like a blast at lower levels, but I wouldn't want to swim it.

I ran from about 4 1/2 miles above Blaine to 3 1/2 miles below Blaine. It was fun.

Can't wait to paddle this stretch next spring!

Wow - as a newer kayaker and GoPro enthusiast- I have a kayaking pal - who’s moving to Bend and he told me we could kayak the Deschutes river - I sent him you video and he’s like no - through town and stuff - well I must say - my new life goal is to do this part of the river - sick! ua-cam.com/video/eJN0Ah_sT2c/v-deo.html

Hi! I loved your video, that seal drop was BOLD and the whole thing looks awesome. I have never really done white water kayaking (I'm a salty Florida boy) but i'm in good physical condition and I am enamored with the idea of Kayaking Opal Creek. I imagine the water level should be more or less around 420cfs when I go. Do you think it would be too much for me as a first timer? Or my girlfriend? We're both in our early 30's and heading out there in early June.

What a beautiful creek! Keep on enjoying them while you are young enough. I had to stop at age 64. Life on shore is pretty boring!

I don't think I will ever run the horn - too freaky and too long of a lead up with a qtr mile of rapids before the rapid

I enjoyed the music, enjoyed the video. Nice seeing someone descend the Row River. You must have good core strength because I did not see any shake in the video. Fun Watching

OMG ouch!!! I guess this is a lesson that a seal launch can be just as dangerous as dropping a waterfall. Hope you get better soon 😀

That was a really fun day last summer despite the swims at the Narrows by 3 out of 4 boaters including me haha... Just glad I got my 2nd roll attempt at Scrawley's Wall and didn't have to swim through Concussion! Will have to do this again next year when everything else is dried up.

Thanks, it's a great run. I like my pogies, I've had them for four years I think and they are still holding up. A bit awkward to get on and off but very warm inside....my hands are often sweating in there and melting my paddle wax!
