Nice call Tony. 101% Hen.
@@SRC6400 thank you
A unique sound Tony. Sounded like you was doing a fly down cackle.
@@SRC6400 I didn't do a fly down.. I normally do.. I just try and give a good range of tone in the yelps.. and clucks.. but that call will do it all.. kee real easy..
What broadhead was you using
@@mississippibowhunter2305 I use werewolf broadheads 200 grains single bevel
Very nice. Don't think I've ever heard of werewolf broadheads. I'll have to look them up@@tonydempsey1359
What kind of penetration have you been getting with that setup
Good to see you back
@stephenharris4057 thank you
Wondered what happened to you. Glad you are back.
@@SRC6400 minor set back to make a huge step forward
Happy for You my Friend. Your back that's all that matters.
@@reedmitchell6716 thanks
Great to see you back bud,,,nice place,
@tearemsturnings8750 thanks I appreciate you
thise padauk calls look awesome. great work.
@@boboluey thanks
Hi Tony. i bought some tubes of the B7000 glue. it holds every bit as good as the E6000. the advantage is the nozzle tip it very small metal. the cap has a metal pin inside and it seals the tip after every use. no waste at all. i thought i would let you know.
@boboluey nice I'll have to try it out soon
tony. i wonder have you tried using b 7000 glue? it comes with a thin needle point already and the description sounds a lot like E 6000
I've tried several glues and e6000 is my go to glue.. I'll have to get some of that glue and try it out..
@@tonydempsey1359 thanks tony. if you do please let everyone know and i will do the same.
Still cool Tony. If I had been there I believe I would have kept my head down.
Nice looking pot.
Thank you
hi tony. is there any frogwood blanks for sale anywhere that you know of
I have my own stash of it not much.. But you can check with some of the guys on turkey call makers pages on Facebook I'm sure someone has a few.. I will not let go of what I have..
tony i was watching how you make the lighter striker heads weigh a bit more by adding a piece of brass. i reload shotgun shells so i have lead shot beads here. i drill the hole a little deeper and add some shot beads to make it up to the 22 grams.
Yes you can.. I've seen guys use tss shot also.. or you can buy the bigger heads and turn down.. call making imo is personal preference it's what you like and sounds good to you..
tony. i noticed you had some hones in your video. you said you don't sell them but i wondered if you remembered where you bought them?
You can find them on Amazon or ebay.. you can get different grits 80 to 220
@@tonydempsey1359 thanks Tony
Where do you get your supplies and how much was the jig?
Pioneer call supplies and the jig and cutter was I think around 475$ shipped
God the original song was bad enough…
thank you for your video. it was amazing to hear and see everything. you are an awesome teacher.
Thanks I appreciate that..
How much. Sounds good
Great sound instructions. Take notes. Best sounding call I made, didn't take notes and well it's hard to get dimensions once glued up lol. Thanks for all your help Tony, from all the videos as well as text messages
Tear it apart and get those specs.. always can make another
@@tonydempsey1359 used a torch and loosened the glue. Reglued afterwards. And measure everything. Holes, thickness, heights, gaps.... Never imagined how much each part effects sound.
@@tonydempsey1359 did make a gaboon ebony call that I messed up on and then changed up to learn. Made real thin walls and bottom, no sound board, and three in glass top. Sounded pretty decent, higher pitched than glass top normally does. Several people wanted it so it became a backup idea
Yeah everything is affected just change 1 spec at a time.. And a call with no soundboard is not unheard of just many don't do it..
We share same attitude. Just love building.
It's fun and learning lots from tinkering
One of my favorite strikers is a match to my favorite call its a splatted dog wood call with matching one piece striker
0000 steel wool works better
I have been turning for six month's and trying to get my own pot design. There is alot of things involved as you would know. In your opinion what would change the sound the most, pedestal the holes or the thickness of the pot. Ive made a few that sounds great and some i wouldn't give to anyone. Ive noticed the wood make a difference but i would like to find a happy medium that my pot will work with all component's .
Love your videos have lots of questions
Straighttalkindirty@gmail.com send me an email with your questions
Great video. Very informative. Thanks!
Thanks, I've tried to give the beginners a small advantage of the leaning curve that I didn't have when I started ..
"write it down" is the best advice on call making, thanks Tony
Awesome! Choice of music is pretty good too
Thanks.. it's a great song for sure
Great info video. I have two frogwood strikers, and I absolutely love them. Tks
Thanks
I have dymond wood put away in case I break one of my strikers.
New to making calls love your videos.
Thanks bud.. if you have any questions please feel free to ask
Relax, lay back four years and , when he comes by he'll look like what your waiting for 😊
Yeah possible booner.. there's a few big boys out here..
What kind of wood did you use for the turkey call you called him in with?
Haha.. sitting quietly
Can't believe how much the leaves have already changed there.
Yeah fall is hitting early this year.. it usually don't look like that till the 1st weekend of October
Love it
Heck ya man looks amazing.
Thanks bud.. I'll have a few for you to use this coming spring.. working on them now
@@tonydempsey1359 Perfect, can’t wait to try them out, we have 3 hens constantly around the cabin down in southern ohio and they each have 8 poults. How was your hatch this year?
I've got my 1965 Bear Kodiak recurve, if your looking to trade. It just so happens it's left handed. I don't know how that happened it's the only thing I do left handed. 😊
1 day I will take a deer with a recurve.. I find myself getting into something (anything) and before I know it. I need a bigger shovel to keep digging my rabbit hole. Lol
Looks like You are ready. Nice set up. Better get the grinder ready for sausage.
Thanks.. I've put alot of time in tuning this bow.. very happy with it
Sounds good! Looking forward to hearing the thin pot run
I'll be uploading in a few
You going to Unicoi in Helen GA this January?
No I won't be able to make that show.. will some day
Very nice looking call. I really like the moderate high pitch with the nasal effects. It's a " 10 " for sure. 👍
Thanks.. I had my own questions when I was building these calls.. with the way I made the soundboard.. with that said the soundboard did exactly what I wanted and give it a more high front end of the yelp.. Thanks for the high marks on this call..
I don’t know Tony. Maybe the last striker but all sound great
Beutiful. Your on your game.
Thanks Reed. I appreciate that..
Hey tony did you scribe the glass yourself? Or order it done with your signature
My signature is on the wood soundboard.. and all my signature are mine made by me
Just found this video. I sure hope it turned well.
It came out fantastic.. sound is spot on.. even with multiple different strikers
Money well spent. Your time is valuable.
Great idea Tony. Couple questions. Do you have a particular favorite wood to work with? And do you notice a sound difference in using the wenge rails vs other woods as the rails? Keep em coming
I try and use the same wood I'm working with for the rails. As an alternative I would use popular wood just because it's a stable wood ot doesn't move that much.. As for my favorite wood to turn pots with is teakwood easy and makes a great turkey call that produces real hen turkey sounds.. just my opinion
Thanks Tony.
Any time
Looking good. Is that a red maple your turning
No sir.. that's just a orange t-shirt dye used on curly maple.
Looks great Tony. Really liking the wood combos
Thanks.. some white oak, shedua, curly maple, yellowheart, and paduk/ wenge laminated
You out did yourself on this one Tony.
Thanks.. hopefully it sounds better than it looks.. waiting on soundboards to finish them
