Prevent Printer Updates That You Don't Want Using The Task Scheduler App
Переглядів 383 місяці тому
When printer drivers are loaded onto a computer, entries are often added to the computer's scheduled tasks library. The entry will tell the computer via the task scheduler App to check the internet for updates and to update a printer's firmware. When using refillable or after-market cartridges, this can cause issues with cartridge recognition. This video shows how to prevent this by deleting en...

Splashjet 664 series sublimation inks for ET Printer Models
Good question.
Thanks for showing us how slow this model......I will buy ET-2860 series 😂
Thanks for showing me how to open the ink section, I just bought this printer and couldn't get it open. Like you said, I had to give it a bit of a fight!
If you have a error that you cannot fix on these Canon printers, turn the power off...wait 30 seconds minimum then hold in the Stop button in and press the Power button once...then tap the Stop button 5 times. This will put the printer into service mode and force the errors to be wiped out. Once you have a solid green light, simply press the Power button once to turn the printer off. When you start the printer back up, it should work as normally. If you need to force the ink to refill the tubes, turn the power on and wait for it to start up. Then hold Stop button until the yellow light blinks 5 times then quickly let the Stop button go. The printer will enter into refill mode and it will take about 10 minutes to repair itself. Be sure not to mess with the printer during the refill processing.
It can be a little confusing, the (ARC) auto reset chip works when the cartridges are registered as completely empty? and not just low? as mine is low and will not auto reset, after refilling, does it need to be completely empty, so the printer memory states it is with an x (and then when refilled and refitted) the printer will reset chip as full is that correct?
Using ARC chips can confuse a little. The chips will warn that the cartridges are nearly ready to be replaced/refilled. Ignore that message and wait until the cartridge no longer prints. That is the correct time to refill. Having said that, please remember that there may be differences between different chip suppliers.
By this video being 11 years old, it was the only one quick and straight to the point. Loved. It thank you so much!!!
Holy crap thats a lot of ink being wasted at the end 😬
To fill the ink isn't the problem. Question is do the cartridges work correct? Do they provide constant ink flow etc. Often OEM cartridges have a special constuction for that purpose which the refill cartridges have not and this leads to problems. I had bad experience with canon refillable. Now i bought an epson xp-970 and ask me if i should buy those refillables.
These work fine. You are referring to cartridges with valves that prevent ink from leaking from the outlet after cartridges are removed for filling. Yes, some manufacturer's cartridges can cause a flow issue. Not many though.
Advice please. Recieved the starter set for my printer this morning and worked out how the actuator arm works with no issues. Filled the Magenta cartridge up and inserted it whilst leaving the others with the old cartridges, but sadly it is not registering a full cartridge. Keeps stating the printer does not have enough ink to maintain print quality and also shows a red x on the Magenta. Have no idea what to do next and would appreciate advice please. Kind regards Chris
Not come across this issue before so I am a little lost. Try filling all of the refillable cartridges and installing them In the printer. It may be that the ARC will not work with other cartridges with different chip types. We have had this before on other printer brands but not on a Brother printer. I hope this helps, Mike
Apologise I have not had time to get back to the printer until now. I have done as you requested and it will still not work. On the screen it states Cannot print. Replace ink Magenta Cyan. On the picture of the ink volumes Magenta & Cyan have an X, Yellow & Black have a ? Please help.
If I remove the cartridges and replace I now have X on Magenta & Cyan, but the have nothing, although you see no ink in the Yellow and about a third in the Black and yet all four are full. They change even when I put the old cartidges back but Magenta & Cyan always show an X. Prior to this I had no issues with printing.
Whilst waiting for a reply I have been removing and replacing the cartridges. All of a sudden the Magenta and Cyan now show a full on the screen, it is the other two that now show an X. I am totally confused.
Oh my goodness, after all this fluffing about I have got it working. Just doing a print head cleaning on all at Strong level.
Thanks for the video,i had no idea you could yank the print head out and clean it manually. I had a problem with my printer using the black ink cartridge, and it didn't matter how many times i clicked on the printer settings to clean the ink jets,it refused to print the black colour, even buying new inks for it made no difference,i thought i was going to have to splash out on another printer until i came across this video. so you saved me a packet. Thanks
will it work on US printers? namely the wf-7820
HI, I am sorry but I don't know the answer to that. It is a printer sold in North America and not the UK. If there is a chip resetter available it should be listed on ebay.com. If you cant find one, let me know and I will ask the factory re availability.
you mean to tell me wf-7820 (the current WF) can have cart chips reset now??? is it finally time to buy one of these printers? i was griping on the chipless firmware (requiring you to pull the motherboard and reprogram some chips with bin files), but if we can reset chips now, i might actually want to get a wf-7820. when do you think someone will develop an arc reset so we can use a CISS? in any case, might we already be able to use a CISS on a 7820? if someone were to create a "riser" that puts the chips above the cartridges instead of on the bottom (hence the riser), it might be feasible in that we can reset the carts without having to remove them from the carriage, allowing our CISS to continue to keep its vacuum seal without having to remove carts.
The WF-7820 is sold in the North America market using the T812 series cartridges. Refillable cartridges with ARC chips are available for these printers and should be available from a good supplier in the US. The UK chips will not work with your printer. If you ae struggling try eBay.com for these. I hope this helps.
Please excuse my ignorance but would these work in my Brother DCP-J4120DW printer which takes BLC223 C cartidges or at least that is was it says on the cartridges. Regards Chris
Hi Chris, yes they would work fine with the DCP-J4120DW. If you need some you can get these from hobbyprint.co.uk or call me 01430 284112. Thanks
Have signed up and just put an order in. Kind regards Chris Revell
Will this work on 222 refillable ink cartridges for an Epson xp 5200 series printer? Could you tell me where you bought that reset ink cartridge device. Thank you
You are a hero! Truly save and simple explained.. This video should be mandatory if you buy an inkjet printer!
can you make a video about the new generation of G series? G..30
Thanks for the video, where can i get my hand on single refill cartridge, a resetter and some ink ?
Which printer model do you have?
@@hobbyprint4976 Epson xp 2205

Thanks! My printer is fully refilled now
I am so glad I came across this video which fixed my issue! Thank you so much and by the way I liked your hand gestures! 😂😂
Hello. Do you know what would happen if you use the chip resetter with the auto reset refillable cartridge? Will it break the auto reset cartridge? Or it just reset the counter . Thanks in advance.
It works fine and does not damage the ARC chip.
@@hobbyprint4976 It's a little confusing, the (ARC) auto reset chip works when the cartridges are registered as completely empty? and not just low? as mine is low and will not auto reset, after refilling, does it need to be completely empty, or the printer memory states it is with an x (and then when refilled and refitted) the printer will reset chip is that correct?
Thank you so much for these instructions. This was helpful to run this through the computer as I did not have to Flush all the lines, but only the color since my Black was not affected.
10-20$ from Aliexpress. There is for each chip model
Can you please help. I have the TS700 and I am new to this, I printed some great pictures, but after leaving them to dry, they turned greenish overnight, can you help. I love your channel. It's really helpful.
Hi The first thing to always check if you have a printed output problem is that the printheads are blocked. Not getting all of the ink through the heads will impact the final colour. To perform a nozzle test simply go to "printer preferences" and navigate to the "maintenance tab". click the Perform Nozzle test button or print test button. After the printer has printed check the sheet to see that all colours are good. Hope this helps.
My Pixa G3200 came with cartridges as well. Do we by-pass the cartridges?
No. The cartridges supplied should be 1 x black and 1 x CMY colour. These need inserting into the printer. You should have info on this supplied with your printer model.
They will do anything to make some extra money off us I'm not even using the box and the printer claims it's at EOL i think its lawsuit time 😂
My EPSON XP-2150 printer doesn't recognize just cyan color, cartridges are all the same manufacturer
Maybe a chip issue but I need more info to help. If you call me on 01430 284112 we can try a couple of things to see if we can fix it. Mike
My epson stylus cx4300 is working properly and no error but the problem is blank print page.how to fix it
@@eloisa6517 If the printer is going through the motions of printing, and there is no printed output, then there is an issue with inks not releasing from cartridges or blocked printheads. It is Unusual that all 4 colours would be blocked in the printhead unless the printer had not been used for a while. Are you using refillable cartridges?
@@hobbyprint4976 Yes, my cartridges are new because they have not been used for a long time. The technician told me they don't make that model because it's been a decade
you put out this nice video and then ignore the questions posted by viewers. sheesh
You're right, of course, but the video was only created to support using chip resetters. Sheesh!
This video is perfect! Short, to the point and actually offers the best advice that is correct
What is the recommendation ink level minimum, in case there are some moments where the printer isn't used as frequently?
As long as there is ink showing in the ink level sight window you should be good.
@@hobbyprint4976 Thank you for the information.
Wow we are about to move cross country amazing
Does this also reset the ink pad level maintenance box? Thanks
No it only sets the cartridge chip.
Them 3 inks u can use does have be empty and cleaned before next ink we just ordered one of you thanks
Can you change the battery on the chip resetter? Thanks 👍🏻
Yes, I think there are 3 button batteries in the resetter that can be changed. Just open the screws and carefully open the case to get access.
@@hobbyprint4976 Great... Thanks... The reason I ask is they say up to 100 uses, I'm guessing this is due to the battery? .. Thanks again for getting back.
Sorry, did not work. This also did not work when I previously did it on my HP desk jet, which I threw out the window and bought a laser printer which does not dry out. Glad some people have luck, but the clog is internal. This is a secondary printer I used to print DVDs. and I have not used it since before COVID, so guess I'll buy a new print head or just get another printer. thank you. Also you did not show a "before and after" to show the print quality...
Worked today on a Cannon iX6800. Magenta was not printing. All the other colors washed clean in a few seconds. The magenta kept coming and coming and coming for a good 15 minutes. Thanks for this video. Funny how Cannon doesn't give that info anywhere that I could find. Saved me $250.oo (US).
Will it reset third party cartridges? ( After market ones).. thanks
I have done all this and it is a red light and then flashes red and then no green why?
If the light only flashes red and then no green light, it is not re-setting the chip. Try repositioning the re-setter slightly in order to ensure all of the contact points on the chip marry up with the chip re-setter contacts. I have seen this issue a few times with some cartridges. I hope this helps. Mike
If you squeeze the ink cartridges then your ink is dripping all over the place!
I know this video is 11 years old by now, but you just saved my really old Canon printer from being trashed! Thank you!!
Hello. Based on your video, I installed Ink Tank (My printer WF-2110). After installation, the Paper indicator began to blink (no paper was jammed). I tried to reset the error, it didn't help. At first I thought it was because the printer lid was open, but I saw that in your video the printer prints with the lid open. I decided to check and inserted old cartridges. The printer began to print and only the a drop indicator was blinking (one of the cartridges is empty, I know that). I inserted cartridges from Ink Tank, again the error was a Paper. Help please with advice. Thank you!
Hi, as you have described this, it sounds as though the chip on the CISS is not interacting with the printer as it should. Why it would do that I do not know but the fact that the printer will recognise the standard cartridges indicates a chip issue. I would talk to the CISS supplier, they may have information on this. BTW, was there paper in the paper tray when the light was blinking? If not try it with paper in the tray. I wish I could be more help.
@@hobbyprint4976 Yes, the paper was in the paper tray. Thank you, I will contact the seller and write to him about the error.
Very helpful, thank you!!
hi having problems with my G4511 even after doing this proceedure several times my magenta still does not print i have only 239 printed pages on record the ink tanks are full and no matter what i do it will not print magenta is there something else i can try to alleviate this problem , thank you
Same here but black. Do you have any recommendation?
Thank you for taking the time to make and post this video. I had tried all other methods to correct the printer from printing totally blank pages, including removal and reinstallation of software and drivers. Since the pages were completely blank and it had been used less than a month ago I had concluded that it must be the print head and was about to purchase a new one/printer. Following your advice it is fully restored. Thanks again.
