The Greek woman understood what Jesus was saying when he said "First let the children eat all they want....for it is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to the dogs." I think this means that Jesus came to save his people first, the Jewish people, and that she as a Greek woman, a gentile, should not receive the gift that was for God's chosen people. But because the woman had faith, she responded that "even the dogs under that table eat the children's crumbs." This means she understood that Jesus came to save his people, but that even the non-Jews could receive salvation too. Because she knew this and believed that Jesus was the Messiah, she took courage to respond to him and lay claim on what God had intended, i.e. that All who believe should partake of the fruits of salvation.

God is telling me to be careful of the promises you make for you may end up doing evil. Herod took an oath to grant the daughter of Herodias whatever she wanted, "up to half my kingdom." When she asked for the head of John the Baptist on a platter, he felt trapped in this oath because it was his word and also because others were watching him. Herod was "greatly distressed". It even says earlier in the chapter that "he liked to listen to him" (John the Baptist). This tells me that there was a possibility of his one day changing his ways. But we must do more than just listen to the Word of God, but must also obey. So Herod, in order to keep himself from looking weak, kept his oath and did an evil thing. He did not have to do this! He chose his ego over what is good. He should have said "No! I don't care what others think or how they view me, I will not do this evil!" Then he might have started on the path of becoming a godly man.

Jesus knew that someone touched his clothes although many people crowded around him, touching him in the process. What was the difference between the woman who touched his clothes and the others who pressed around him? -- FAITH. This shows that while many know of Jesus and may gather around him (going to church, stating that they are Christians), few truly believe. Jesus knows who believes in him and who is a phony. There is no deceiving Jesus.

God is wanting to tell me that there are many obstacles and snares along the path of becoming a Christian, but that if we hear the word and accept it, we must also produce a crop. Not only must we GROW in our faith, by following the word of God and what He wants us to do, but that we must be fruitful by SHARING the gospel with others.

This scripture is telling me that we must not let anything or anyone interfere in our faith and what we should be doing as followers of Jesus. As believers we have a new family that is greater than our biological family of parents and siblings - - our family in Christ.

God is telling me if he can calm the storms of the sea with only one word then he has the power to calm the storms of life and we need to have faith and although life is full of storms God is always with us and loves us unconditionally ❤🙏

God is showing me that the laws were made to help people live a good life, and not to cause them to suffer. Jesus healed a man on the Sabbath because it was a good thing to do. Jesus was angry at the Pharisees and "deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts." He must have been so frustrated with them for not wanting to see the truth of what is a good thing to do, but rather to use the law to trap and punish him for healing the man's hand.

I loved how Levi just had to hear Jesus say "Follow me", and he got up from the tax collector table and followed him. This is how it is with all who follow Christ today. We must first hear the words of Jesus, which comes by reading the Bible, then believing in Jesus as our savior and the Son of God, and leaving our old life behind to follow in his ways.

What it says to me is that we have to do more than just acknowledge that Jesus is the Son of God. Even the demons do that. We have to claim Jesus as our Lord and Savior and believe in him and follow after him.

God please console the families and send your Angels 10 Adults and 9 children please church and pastor keep them all in your prayers 🙏 God help those first responders to keep them strong God put your full Armor of the Holy Spirit on all these families God cover them with the blood 🩸 of Jesus Christ Amen God cover all the other people and children and even the hospital and children who are going to the hospital keep them safe and protected from being mis counted as COVID cases and they was going to hospital for something else and are testing positive but out of 20 only 9 might be really needed to be admitted and most are send home God please intervene in the lives of everyone who go to a hospital and all the doctors snd hospitals all over the world 🌎 God especially the NewYork City hospitals who are already strained

Excellent sermon! I'm not sure how to put on the Full Armor of God, though. I do read the Bible and try to follow in the ways of Christ, which is not always easy.
