This is a great job! I'd like to give, as wiring design engineer, an advice to those who are getting closer in wiring harnesses design. You can be a contractor or you can be a direct employee of a manufacturing company which has an internal engineering department (such as me): be aware of something that you have to consider (apart of the carmaker design rule) and that we can define "design for manufacturing" that gives all the "good practice" to apply on your 3D models (that will come in a 2D model), in order to let the company produce properly what you are designing in 3D ! It's not so uncommon (and I can assure you that's happened many times) that what you think you have designed appropriately may result, in the actual physical wiring harness, in certain differences that can lead to it being unmountable!. So you know what it means? If you are an employee, you get reprimanded by your boss or your company, but if you are an external consultant, you risk being ‘burned’.

Solidworks Routing is way easier. There is a full library available and auto-routing functions.

Hello, can you answer my question? What is the difference between wiring system / cable harness design in CATIA and SOLIDWORKS? I see that both software are from DS and both are used for the same purpose. So which one is better? Could you give a short comparison between them? Thanks!

Finally some common sense regarding AI. The amount of input required for designing a part would be immense and it would need to come from a human side. Plus the costs that are involved. Generative design is all over the web and I am so sick of seeing it everywhere. Manufacturers and suppliers argue about cents when mass production is involved.
