@@AKDanMusicMan yeah, the challenge was that I wanted to record it straight into an iPad I order to demonstrate it’s own sounds and effects with no post production. The beat comes from sequencing filter cutoff and I put that on the left side and let the right filter be more continuous open to not affect the oscillators. If I would do anything outside the Solar, I would take in the channels and put both channels quite panned in the middle keeping a bit stereo field. Now it’s extreme paned but also shows how the synth can sound.

@@picoterramusic7242 I had seen someone else with a similar problem. The dry signal was in the right ear and the left was nothing but reverb. Hoping to get my 42F in a couple weeks.

@@picoterramusic7242 Apparently people have been using lego blocks to replace the fader knob. You should try that if you have some lego lying around

@@picoterramusic7242 After seeing fadergate, I also did not put the fader knob on. I tried just to see how easily it would go on, but it is a tight fit for some reason. However, all the other knobs slide on smoothly with just slight pressure, so no worries there.

Glad it helped! I use Kenton Midi-thru (powered) were Perkons is first i output chain. No issue there.

I have just tried with notes (playing on trigger buttons) and that works. I haven’t tried recording modulation. As I’ve sent the Perkons away I cannot test it.

Default settings are 0 for single channel and multi its 0,1,2 and 3. The midi settings is stored on a file which is located on the SD card. You can put the SD card in a PC and open with Notes. MIDI channels 0-15 in settings file corresponds to 1-16 on many synths’ display.

Yes you can! Still, when you record in Perkons it will be quantized to only 16 steps. So, playing directly from midi (by keyboard or sequencer) make it possible to play with shorter note steps. You can also record CC movements in Perkons which you send via midi.

@@picoterramusic7242 Sorry, I meant can you record in midi note data with an external midi controller into the perkons? I think you understood but just to be clear :)

I'd like to use an external sequencer to record patterns into the perkons sequencer and use all the sequencer functions and per step editing (not just triggering the four voices with external midi)...is this possible?

@@MrJackcracks I have done a sequence on an external sequencer (Deluge) and played that via midi while recording button pressed on the Perkons. On the Perkons the same pattern then exists (as was “copied”). The thing is if you have a sequencer with finer time resolution, the Perkons only records 16 steps even if the external sequencer sends eg 32 in same time period. Also, for me there was one note off (too early) event if they were clock synchronized via midi. If that’s due to Deluge or Perkons, I don’t know. While playing the loop I’m also able to live recording parameter changes wile I turn nobs on external sequencer to send cc messages for parameter changes. But don’t know if you are able to parameter locks on your external sequencer before hand and then send it over.

We live in a 3 dimensional world, always somewhere to put it, high up, in a drawer under desk 😅 Jokes aside it needs its space of course and you want to be able to reach it. It’s so inspirational with they big hands-on interface. Otherwise there are of course smaller drum machines. Good luck with your decision

I guess the real fun with Perkons starts when tweaking and modulate the sounds, which I haven’t done here. Also, it might help add external effects like reverb on some of the voices.

trust me, they're amazing. lots of new sounds hiding inside each turn of the knobs, plus lots of new sub/low content, plus some melodic kits. they put some amazing sounds into this new kit pack. and it's free ninety nine

@@iwillnevergetone5 yeah, it would be nice to do more performance on each and one of them. I didn’t have the time too prepare and explore them more and do such a video. I just made this this one as “better than nothing” as I myself was looking for any demo at all of this kit pack.

I can’t get mine to load. I’ve been able to get the firmware update to work but I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong with the free kit.

In Midi data message, it starts with 0 and this is the way it’s in Perkon’s file as well so if you want to change you need to be aware of this. So, the 16 channels go from data address 0 to 15 corresponding to midi channel 1-16. I should have explained that better in the video. Thanks for raising this.

Thanks! Sorry, I don’t have the settings saved and don’t remember. The key of the note is not important, put it somewhere in the mid-range. The note is only for giving some signal to the compressor. I then adjusted the threshold on compressor to catch the incoming CV signal from Deluge. The length I used was a 1/16th of a bar, but you can play with that.

@@picoterramusic7242 Thank you to. My compressor works a little bit other. He hasn’t a threshold, so I have to give him over the level of input, how he works. But I found today a way, how cv works for me. It’s a range between the cv notes, that gives more ore less level to the sidechain input. For me it was like 6 notes, witch gives me a good value, from one cv note to the next. So every note I like to use as a trigger has to be 6 notes upper or lover the last one 🤷🏻‍♂️ not the best way, but better than nothing. Maybe I can also change the volt for cv in the Deluge, but that I will try another day. Cheers

Thanks for your nice comment! On the Hydrasynth, I use a factory preset and just (as you noticed) flipped the modulation wheel to get alternate sound. The preset is called VHS dreams. Such a nice preset, I saw Stimming used that in last part (2:08) of one of his Hydrasynth videos: ua-cam.com/video/ov29qs_evyI/v-deo.html

Thanks for the comment! It a good idea to run it back thru Deluge, will definitely try it! In this video Deluge is only adding a kick and syncing the tempo with the Moogs. The Deluge is usually the heart and brain of my different setups, really useful with both the sounds it’s producing and the sequencer with both midi and CV. I recently shortened this video to make it more focused on main sound. Thanks for the feedback!
