Evelyn and Flo Jo made me love the USA female runners.
Evelyn Ashford
If the USA gets to compete in the 1980 Olympics in Moscow, here would be MY RESULTS in the men's 100m finals: 1st: Allan Wells (Great Britain) STILL! 2nd: Stanley Floyd (United States) 3rd: Silvio Leonard (Cuba) 4th: Harvey Glance (United States)
What an amazing archive!
why were some men running in the women's 800?
Give the man back his gold medal and his records. The IOC are a disgrace. Great Aussie commentary.
Ben Johnson in quel caso capro espiatorio di tutti i migliori centometristi in quel caso. Per me comunque resta il più forte a quei tempi altro che l'americano
Mennea and Wells both drug takers
Bad ass movie
Kaarlo Maaninka won silver in this race. He later admitted to have used blood doping before this race.
当時は地元のライブには必ず参加してました懐かしい。凄いエンターテイメントなのに何故いまいち売れなかったんやろ。
Great finish for the gold. Do you have copies of the two semi-finals or where I could see them?
Carl Lewis was already doping back in '84 but USA as usual covering up for their drug cheats while pointing the finger at everyone else
Just watch the final in Slo Mo and count with me. 1. 2. 3. That’s how many times Carl Lewis stepped out of his lane while panicking. Don’t take my word for it - watch it yourself. Carl Lewis should have been DISQUALIFIED from the final for leaving his lane.
No matter what she will always be the greatest. I loved her running style and i have only seen 2 ppl that has that style of running an I am 65 years old. "The Jet" Jetter in 2011 and 2012 ( when they set the 4 x 100m relay record 2012) and Sha Cari Richardson. God Flo Jo was exceptionally fast when she went into 2nd and 3rd gear!!! And Jetter was exactly the same way she could fly! ppl say steroids i say Gods gift and if it was so true why her records were never removed from history. I added that for them commenters that will chose to bring it up. lol
このステージでパーカッションとキーボードを演奏しているのは鈴木さえ子さんですか?
The doctor said i can give you this shot but you will probably die in your 30s 😅😅😅😅
why was the world record not 43.29 at that time?
Wasn’t ratified at that point
Three three olympic record broken in just that one olympic????? I'm impressed and the fact she defeated Elaine Thompson personal record and was 2 milliseconds away from Shelly ann Frascer pryce personal record is insane. I wish she was still alive so I could see her run
These narrator or reporter are really rude calling someone jerky for running ugly before and saying one women is the best from all the women is beyond disrespectful

Wells won the 100m?
He shows these Europeans and Canadians why he is better and why the Japan is the father of keirin.
Looking at all of this again today, I wanna again point out mechanics. Notice how the sprinters running these 11’s appear to be running faster than the sprinters today running faster, right? This is because we used backside mechanics back then, and folks relied upon their frequency and power to move their legs fast, but only cover but so much distance. Today, we focus heavily on FRONTside mechanics, which may require the sprinter to slow down their turnover a bit in order to gain more horizontal distance with each step. When we look closely at this video and the difference between FloJo and everyone else, somehow, some way, she literally came up with an entirely different stride pattern focused on gaining distance, not solely moving her legs fast, because more distance with each step = reduced times. I remember being a kid and thinking FloJo’s form looked really ugly…she looked slow to me and I didn’t understand how she could be so fast when she looked very slow to me, but I now understand since most sprinters today are doing this. The very simple explanation for FloJo’s success heavily lies within her mere mechanics, and her setting a trend that the majority of sprinters would eventually do in the future…she was way ahead of her time with a totally innovative form.
Perfect explanation. Thankyou ❣️
In that broadcast, the special comments are by the late, great Ron Clarke.
THE TRUE IS THAT GIVE BACK BAN JOHNSON GOLD MEDAL 1988 🥇
Wow, those boys in the final looked serious..
"the Soviet with the long name" love it!
Look at the make up of the field. Not a doped up athlete to be seen anywhere!! ( and yes I know that there were a lot of nations boycotting these games)
And used drugs to enhance his performance… tut! tut!
She is my idol ❤❤❤rip idol🙏🙏🙏
Obviously with steroids, that why she dies soon!
