How else do they want 2 rappers to hash out their differences? These 2 have been beefing for over a decade. The beef came to a head, so they duked it out. First of all, Quest is a bit of an elitist when it comes to music in general and hip hop specifically. He doesn’t like “Hit ‘Em Up” because of the “Don’t Look Any Further” sample. He thought it was corny to diss someone over a “smooth jazz beat” as he called it. So, Quest’s opinion, to me, is null and void. He’s alway going to be sanctimonious and pretentious with his takes. I wonder if Ed Lover took issue with Nas and Jay or 50 and Ja, or Em and… anyone lol. Also, if this were Drake and anyone else I don’t think anyone would care, but people have placed Kendrick on such a high, unreasonable pedestal that the poor man can’t even let his hair down and get in the mud. They ultimately think this behavior is beneath Kendrick because he made To Pimp a Butterfly, but truth be told, Dot has been waiting for this moment! I say, let him have it. Giving him a hard time for airing his grievances in a rap battle is really the goofiest take. And one last thing, we can talk about this all being beneath Kendrick, but I think the way he went about it was fun and articulate.

    1. I can see how alot of people would say this beef was needlessly petty on both sides but it was clear who was the one who made it more than what it is if you follow on who made it a problem. Drake was the one bothered by the words everybody else understood the assignment and just took action... NOT BE SENSITIVE. 2. Hes a one dimensional old head he probably wasnt being intrigued by those many yhings that he LITERALLY PIONEERED INTO THE NEW LYRICISTS??? Then again he said he like J.cole. I dont understand. FAR AS IM CONCERNED cole embodies and does all these things he doesnt find "entertaining". 3. Yes they probably wasn't. Simple as that. Its a new age. But kendrick made it clear hes not playing those meme games with drake cause it was not gon work this battle around...(nor did it with pusha.. but i digress)so that more so sir aubrey than kendrick where this problem lays. 4. I feel kendrick shown more diversity. He went hi tempo... to slowed soulful shit down to straight scary boombap.. to a new school west coast.. drake essentially only used like more pleasureable to the ear beats that fit him. Nothing wrong with that.. it just was clear who actually brings something to the table new on approach is all. 5. Thats preference and subjective. Personally if what kendrick said was trueabout the ovo mole thing.. This was beautifully done and warranted for someone who told you "leave me alone.. i dont wanna do this". That jay z quote was perfect. 6. Old heads being old heads...again thats ok. But kendrick making a song about morally putting down a animalistic fucked up behavior accusation?.. while putting on game with some catchy lines saying real shit?.. and making it a bop? Hes done this countless times... difference its in a beef now. Live with it. Nit picking but subjective. 7. Old heads have gotten in beefs for lesser before now they tweaking cause they feel its messy? Like "i fucked ya wife"..and "fuck the side and the clique you claim" arent childish shit to say? Grown men beefed over women on some other shit. Dont even. 8. Message understood. I agree. Wrong messenger though. Literally made one of and WANTED FLOWERS FOR IT .. THE GREATEST RAP DISS SONGS OF ALL TIME.. Sir. Stop. 9. 🤨🧐😒... Anyways. 10. Well duh. Thats why you keep out of things that is not your familiarity. Those guys are leagues above you lyrically ....who know when its time to keep it professional and JUST RAP. They have a different perspective that you wont see and thats ok. But you never been in that realm before forreal.. speaking on it has you looking suspect.. 11. Skill was the side piece here. These two genuinely especially kendrick made it clear he dont fuck with drake for how low he had to go to discredit those he fucked over and named.. and as a person.. drake was the petty meme nigga that thought those antics he bullshit dropped would win him the battle...but j.cole said this and niggas called him soft cause he wants his actual peace and a person saying this does somethingf to their SPIRIT doesnt warrant foe you to chill out... "hes not of the culture by what he did.."...."why you talking like that then if you aint want smoke forreal?"...." why you say all that shit to back down?"... He knew something we didnt. That's the problem yall proved the point he made on saying yall asses wanna see blood shed but once it starts getting spicy now we disapproving the idea? Ye aight. It was entertaining. Niggas play dirty in hiphop battles most of the time its depending how low one will go to prove they actually will go to discredit and distain you. 12. I mean to each his own. 13. He aint been in one ..than again his bandmate is literally one the greatest lyricists of all time. I highly doubt he shares those same sentiments.

I always hoped that he had an unreleased demo or something somewhere, but the only thing I've found in 26 years on scouring the internet was the one "Drop Bombs" joint that El-P remixed.

The saddest thing is that the unity of days past will never come back because of one thing: cellular phones 📱. If you look carefully you will see that people are in their own world, on their phones. People have everything they need on their devices, instantly. They can’t even stay away. Devices are the new crack for kids. And kids lack the discipline and mental strength and or education to break free. The other aspects of division are working on autopilot, to keep us older ones apart. Financially speaking, people who look like us will always come looking for a hand out because, “…Brother you’re supposed to understand my situation.” Some actually don’t have it and others may have it but they trying to hold onto something so they don’t break themselves. It gets so deep when you really analyze the situation with our people.
