I'm so inspired - thanks for the behind the scenes look! I'm definitely more organized, and reserved like Allison. I can see you two experimenting with a small side entryway in delicate mahogany trim, cloud white linen wallpaper, and secret lime backlighting framing the door (daytime garden party vibes). Good luck with the reno!

Love this! We lived in our home through the reno; phased approach that took 12+ months (and haven’t even touched the upstair) and it was “interesting”. I haven’t had a garage since I married my husband 8 yrs ago - his garage is FULL to the brim with his things. I jumped channels from IG; love your content.

What’s the advantage of a matte finish of marble over gloss? Or is it personal preference?

It's helpful to know that even though an interior designer is valuable, there are professionals in other sectors of the building industry that provide interior design as a part of their work. @8:35 👍🏽 Good episode. Thank you.

I'd love to know if you have mortgages on multiple houses at once or if you pay off previous mortgages before buying a new investment property, or what your viewpoint is on that. So interesting! I feel that living in Georgetown versus Capitol Hill will be a night and day difference In terms of hustle and bustle of young people. I will be curious to hear how you like living there one day.

I love it! Without taking the walls down, the rooms would be pretty small, and then people would complain that they’re too small and there’s no room. I love open concept…..who wants to be cut off from people when you’re entertaining and cooking in the kitchen. In this case….white makes the space look really big. You can add color through accessories and decor. And we aren’t in a quarantine anymore so who needs to be in their small bubble in their house……🙄 I think you guys did a fabulous job! 👍🏻😉

Please stop knocking down walls and destroying historic houses to make them open concept. The house looks like a blank painting, it has no character and it doesn't feel cozy either. I just think about the bad smell of food throughout the house, no one has privacy anywhere. Many people in quarantine during the pandemic hated their open houses for the same reason of not being able to have privacy. 🤦🏼‍♀️🙄

Thank you for taking time to write! It's interesting that you mention privacy, because we consider ourselves relatively private people and like to have space alone to work. Having separate offices and spaces upstairs certainly help.
