My BEST?! CEX £10 Challenge (No.3)
Today we visit Corby for the channel's third CEX £10 challenge.
Will this one go as well as the last couple?
Can we add some proper bangers to the collection; or will it be all pants, no trousers?
The rules are simple:
- A minimum of 3 games
- No games I already own
- All games must be complete
- No generic sports titles
- I must be intending to play them (No shelf shovelware!)
- And obviously I can only spend at most £10
Sounds easy right?
You'd think so, but with a growing collection it's getting harder and harder to find cheap games that I want to add into the collection, especially ones that are complete and in nice condition.
Will the Wii once again save me? Can I add to my ever growing Playstation collections or even find one of the few Xbox 360 games left on Mission 360? Stick with me to find out!
As always, thank you so much for all the support.
Remember you're awesome, and happy gaming!

Hello and Welcome! Video game unboxing with CEX roulette.
Vanquish alone is a great addition. Pretty good store overall I'd say, even spotted a few games that I have on my own PS3 list which my local stores don't have.
Looking forward to giving Vanquish a go. There certainly were a lot of PS3 games, it was a really good store. Many thanks for watching and happy gaming 😃
Good pick ups soup
Really pleased with how it went this month Many thanks and happy gaming 😃
@@soupofpantsgaming I have a bit of credit which I am saving for A challenge of my own. I enjoy your content soup, keep up the good work!
@@paulrobinson5788 That sounds great, I suck at holding onto credit, I'm kind of impulsive and there always seems to be something I want! How about you film your challenge? I'd love to see it. Thank you so much for the support and the kind words really mean a ton 😃
@@soupofpantsgaming it is hard keeping hold of the credit it’s burning a hole in my wallet 🤣. Filming hmmm I always wanted to do that but don’t have the stones. I am collecting for 360 and ps5 at present and strategy guides just to mix it up. Let’s see what the future holds 🙂
Hi Soup (and sensible other!) quick question if I may... I remember you mentioning in some of your previous videos about getting rid of those small pesky stickers found on the front of some manuals... What is the best way to do this without damaging the manuals? Is there a technique that you use that you would recommend? Enjoying your videos 😊 keep up the great work 👍🏼
Hi, yeah, I usually use a hairdryer, get it nice and hot to loosen the glue, and gently tease it away from a corner whilst trying not to burn my fingers. Sometimes I use a tiny dab of Isopropyl to remove any old sticker residue but you have to be really really careful not to take the print off the manual. Not sure if it's the best way to do it, but I'd definitely practice it on a couple of old fifas or something first before risking a more expensive manual. Just take your time doing it and don't be tempted to pull at it too hard. Best of luck getting them off, they can be a right pain! Many thanks for watching and Happy Gaming 😁
how do you do a cex roulette?
A CEX roulette is just when you order online from CEX (webuy.com) As all their stock is secondhand you're never really sure what's going to turn up, as in the condition, whether it's complete or not etc. A win is when you're happy with what they sent and intend to keep it, a lose is when you're not happy with it and intend to take/send it back to them for a refund/replacement. Some channels call it a fail if it doesn't have a manual, but I tend to accept games without, so long as the disk and sleeve are in decent condition. My most recent fail was when they sent me a game with a reprinted cover! Thank you for watching and happy gaming 😃
@@soupofpantsgaming Oh right I see. aye I've bought a few games of cex online. I thought you might more that you get sent a random game from Cex. I think that would be a cool idea actually. When I was a kid, I just played whatever I got as a gift at Xmas and loved it.
@@KrisVickers-wn6dd That would be pretty cool to be able to order a totally random game, not sure I'm brave enough for that though. I had my partner buy me some random games a couple of weeks back but made sure she'd checked we didn't have them first! Yeah, pretty much the same when I was a kid, remember it feeling so great when I was old enough to go into town as there was a cool market stall where I could trade my old games for other games. Awesome memories 😁
@@soupofpantsgaming that's it mate. cheap fun hobby, brings back the simpler days. I got 3 games there last Saturday for £4.
@@KrisVickers-wn6dd That's awesome, there are still a ton of cheap amazing games out there 😃
Crackdown 1 and 2 are a quid. Amazing games. Riddick one of my favourite games.
All very good shouts, I was really spoilt for choice in picking just ten. Thank you for watching and happy gaming 😃
Nice quick and easy to listen to. Keep it up
Many thanks mate, really enjoying doing this series, makes me go back to games that I otherwise may not have which is great. 😃
@@soupofpantsgaming absolutely! You get a good mix of good and bad games too
Neat idea for a video series! Enjoying it. Didnt know there was a Gekido game on Ps4, the GBA game was pretty good 👍
Many thanks, pleased you're enjoying it. It didn't know about Gekido either until I stumbled across it scrolling through PS4 on CEX, was an impulse buy and relatively pleased with it. It's pretty true to the original GBA game, just some updated cut scenes and 2 player added I think. It's decent but tough too! Thanks for watching and Happy Gaming 😃
I absolutely love Starfox adventures. I remember Getting it on Christmas of 2002. Great memories of that year. Epic action adventure game. I definitely enjoy the game MorphX. It definitely feels more like a PS2 and original Xbox game rather than a 360. Definitely not the greatest 360 game but I liked it enough to play through. For me I always imagine it as an unofficial prequel to the Metro games due to the similar look and Russian setting. And the main character becomes a tragic hero, succumbing to his mutation and becoming one of those giant flying mutants in Metro 2033 with no memory of his events in MorphX. Lol deep I know.
I was pleased to see Starfox Adventures come up, it's been a while since I've played it and I'd forgotten how good it is, it certainly didn't feel 22 years old! I miss the stuff Rare used to make. MorphX was decent despite its many flaws, I struggled a bit getting footage as many of the areas were like playing prior to lighting being added! I haven't finished it, but it's one I'll definitely get back to at some point. I like your take on it being a prequel to Metro 2033, that's another one on my backlog, so maybe I should finish MorphX first! Thanks for watching and Happy Gaming 😃
Always good to see the other side, the less successful side of car booting.
Thanks mate, wasn't sure whether to upload it, but figured it shows people that we don't always get loads of amazing bargains, a lot of the time it's just a complete waste of time. There's always that, 'what if?' kind of feeling though! Hoping the next one will be better. Thanks for watching mate and happy gaming 😃
Yeah lol good advice when going to carboots, don't forget your BS detector
Yeah, it got a lot of use last weekend! Thank you for watching and happy gaming 😃
3:43 Did the seller of Tomb Raider on the 360 play the game in the bath or something? What a state the cover is in, the disc must be immaculate to want £2.50. Only game I saw that I have on my list is Sacred 2 on the PS3, from the first car boot.. I'd have probably checked the box of little die cast bikes from there, too. Very poor showing for games, I have to agree.
That Tomb Raider looked even worse in real life! Yeah massively poor showing for games unfortunately. It only takes there to be one really decent seller there for it all to feel worth it though, so I keep trying regardless! Many thanks for watching and happy gaming 😁
Never heard of the last game before, but I think she did a pretty good job and those games I do know of, I would certainly play. I'll have to view some gameplay of Super Bullet Break later.
Yeah, I put it on my Steam Wishlist about a year ago, proper surprised me when I grabbed it out. Don't know a great deal about it other than thinking it looked a little like Slay the Spire but anime, certainly looking forward to giving it a go. She certainly did a great job, but there's part of me that thinks it may have been a fluke, maybe we'll try it again in the future to see! 😂 Thanks so much for watching and happy gaming 😃
Never heard of ender lilies before? Sounds cool. Is it an RPG game?
Must confess, I still haven't played it, but from what I know it's like an action platform RPG set in a dark fantasy world. The bit of it I saw looked awesome but I'm trying not to look too deep into it to avoid any spoilers for when I (hopefully soon) get around to grabbing it out of my backlog. Think it's available on most platforms too. Many thanks and happy gaming 😃
@@soupofpantsgaming oh ok . Yeah . That's one I certainly never heard of before? It's a new one on me . Yeah I got a lot of games on my backlog as well . Kinda hard to play them all with a full time job . Thanks you as well. Don't forget to subscribe !!! I'm trying to get to 300 subscribers before the year is up .
@@larrythebatmanfan I hear you there, my limited spare time has been eaten up with UA-cam the past few months, I'm picking a lot up but hardly getting the time to play anything. Best of luck with your own channel too, have subbed back. Happy gaming 😃
I had a great time with Ys Origin on both PS4 and PSVita.... it was my first experience of the franchise 😊
I had it wish listed on the PS4, but am more than happy to have it on the Switch, think it looks great. Last Ys I played I think was 8, and this looks like it plays a little differently to that, massively looking forward to giving it a go. Thank you for watching and happy gaming 😃
new subscriber to the channel
Hi, many thanks and happy gaming 😃
Can’t lie. You seemed very impressed by all that. Clearly your sensible adult knows you well. Great prices too. Gotta agree with you though, that eBay one was a bit ropey.
Yeah, she knows me better than I know myself I reckon! Was so relieved she didn't buy any duplicates, as that was a slight concern I had. I think the eBay one may have been sent by a kid, it was in a terribly taped ice-lolly box and the little note looked as if it could have been a kids handwriting. Good use of recycled packaging though, and the main thing is the game arrived in good condition and works great; unfortunately I can't get the Switch off of her though! 😆
She’s done very well for you there sir she must know your taste in games well her selection was good also
Yeah, wasn't quite what I was expecting, she'd asked me about 'Tales of" games and I thought she hinted towards Mario RPG as well. She knew I almost bought VT2 a couple of weeks back, but I was expecting her to stick to more mainstream stuff. So pleased, and yes, her games are awesome too, problem now is getting the Switch off of her! Thanks for watching and Happy Gaming 😃
Great channel. Just earned a sub and a like 👊🏾
Many thanks, truly appreciated 😁
Despite years of charity shop and car boot hunting, I am yet to find Mario Kart Wii, seems to be a staple of Pickup Videos but it continues to elude me!!! Always enjoy your videos.
You'll find one eventually, they're like buses, you'll be waiting for ages then a couple'll turn up! Thank you for watching and Happy Gaming 😃
Retro Mania looks like a cool little shop. I spotted a few PS3 games on his shelf that I might be interested in, so I'll have to see about sending him an e-mail to maybe get some prices.
Love the shop, no idea how they handle online/distance orders though. Fingers crossed they still have the games you're looking for. Hope it goes well. Thanks for watching and Happy Gaming 😃
N64 rules
Hey mate. Your comments are like mine, stealth! They only show when I change the sort to 'newest first' and it doesn't send the notification, just adds one to the comment count, exactly like when I leave comments on other's channels hence how I found it, presume you know all that anyway. I was late to the N64, but have been loving it the last few years. Hope all is good with you, happy gaming 😃
@@soupofpantsgaming 🤣🤣🤣🤣 if you saw me in person, stealth would be the last thing you thought I’d be capable of 🤣🤣🤣 I think it’s just a UA-cam thing. I seem to hide in a lot of comment sections. All I can say is please make sure you hold the n64 controller properly. You will enjoy the games more 🤣
@@feedmechicken OMG, maybe you should do an instructional video on how to best hold the N64 controller?! 🤣
@@soupofpantsgaming 🤣🤣🤣
@1:33 There is a bag there with gameboy games. Including Pokemon Yellow and Pokemon Sapphire.
Yeah, some of the stuff the trader had was decent, just priced accordingly. I'm not comfortable enough in my knowledge of GB/GBA carts to risk paying up for them at a car boot though. If they'd been a quid each I'd have risked it! 🤣 Thanks for watching and happy gaming 😃
Hello Mr Soupy Man, you got quite the deal at 5:50! Coincidentally, I saw this exact copy in a local retro store in the very same day this video released and they were charging £30.00. You have some nice pick-ups. I must add Alan Wake to my collection, but I do not want to pay more than £8-£10....
I didn't realise it was that great of a bargain until I got home and checked the price elsewhere, I'd have been kicking myself if I'd have left it for having a bit of a tatty sleeve at that price. I've been very fortunate over the last month or two with my pick ups, long may my fortune last! Best of luck in finding yourself an Alan Wake C.E. they're out there and it is a really nice thing. Thank you for watching, stay awesome and happy gaming 😃
@@soupofpantsgaming I am enjoying being part of your journey, Mr Soupy man. Your major success with your pick-ups is fresh impetus for me to continue building my Xbox 360 collection as well. I remember playing Alan Wake when it first came out and just being inundated with other classic games as well at the time: Splinter Cell Conviction, Red Dead, etc. Stark contrast to now! I did manage to pick up an ATV racer for the 360 called “Mud” the other day from a small independent store. Cex value at a low price, but you don’t see it often in the wild, so a small victory.
@@gillianmcnosehair9097 Thanks so much, that really means a lot to me. I'm really enjoying collecting for the 360 and a little sorry to be approaching the end. Not totally sure what way to take my collecting after the 360, but we'll see. We were so spoilt back in the seventh gen with so many amazing games being released, kind of sad to think it won't likely ever be like that again. Mud is a solid pick up, and you're right I don't see it around often, it's another one that almost made the list! 😁
The saboteur is a great game and underrated
Awesome, I'm really looking forward to playing it. Many thanks and happy gaming 😃
Great pickups as always matey. I absolutely love The saboteur, one of my absolute favorite games of that generation. It's basically WW2 themed open world sandbox game. I love the idea in the game that when you free a certain area of the map it goes from black and white to colour. Amazing game. Condemned is easily one of my top 5 Xbox 360 games of all time. First person survival horror melee combat game. Can't go wrong with Alan Wake another one of my favorites. I'll never forget the first time playing it, especially the first time doing that farm concert stage section. Mindblown moment.
Am really looking forward to The Saboteur and Condemned, could do with there being more hours in the day so I could find more time to play them all! Alan Wake is so good, I really need to give it another play through sometime, think my Sensible Adult has it on her list to play sometime too, so I'll probably end up watching her! As always, thanks for watching and happy gaming 😁
Great pickups and video mate. I'm just not getting any luck at car boots 😢
Thanks mate. They're usually way more miss than hit from my point of view. Sure you'll get a good one at some point if keep hitting them. Thanks for watching and happy gaming 😁

Sega Rally on Saturn was there… What a game 🤟🏻
Sega Rally, good memories. Thank you for watching and happy gaming 😃
Great pickups. That was a grear bargain for the 250g 360 hard drive. Always great to have a spare. I don't often collect special editions of games but That is a slick Nax Payne statue. Fantastic game. Really sucks we never got a Max Payne 4. Hell even a prequel would be something.
Yeah, I guess Max Payne is one of the series lost to time now, we really should have gotten a MP4. As always, thank you so much and happy gaming dude 😁
I’m so jealous you all have CEX stores over yonder. GameStop used to be much better, or it could be just me. I’ve settled on using the Xbox 360 and PC as the portals for my gaming. GameStop has few used games in store these days and zero computer games.
I think we all like to moan a little about CEX from time to time but for the most part it is decent. From what I've seen, I'd hate to be stuck with GameStop and risking disk only stuff. Most of my PC stuff I get on Steam through sites like Fanatical usually, I do try not to spend too much on digital though as I love having physical copies where possible. Thank you so much for the support and happy gaming 😁
Lololol…..we have all had these cascading fails….just take a deep breath and press on. Excellent video.
Thanks so much, I think fails is what makes us human 😅 Happy gaming.
Love max payne 3 and in general so finding that statue is amazing definitely would of grabbed it what a bargain. And imo £10 on a 360 slim even just for the hard drive and two controllers is well worth it. Hopefully you can fix it :) great video liking the content here so have hit the subscribe button 👍🏻
Many thanks. At worst the 360 will have some spares for me and gives me a project, I like tinkering with consoles. Really hoping I can get it working, thing is so so dusty, it needs a proper clean, just hope it hasn't suffocated and fried the motherboard, fingers crossed. Thanks so much for the support and happy gaming 😃
I would of taken the risk soup, I got a slim from Vinted for £7 last week had no cables etc, it came with a 320gb hard drive loads of games downloaded to the drive, absolute result. Disk drive roulette gave me Disney infinity (can’t win them all 😂). Managed to further get a controller and power brick for £6. So a fully functioning slim for less than £20.
That's a proper bargain mate, well done. I never have much luck on Vinted myself, but I'll keep an eye and hopefully find something awesome at some point. Really hope there's something in the drive, my previous one was empty. Thanks for watching and happy gaming 😁
I was lucky, the theory was if a dud would be good for spares for mine. Now I have a quandary do I move it on?
@@paulrobinson5788 I quite like having a spare machine or two, will be keeping mine either way, but yes it is tempting to move stuff on. I guess it depends on if you think you'll ever use it? Either way it's definitely a win 😀
Always good to keep having the prices lowered for you without having to say much. I think you should have looked the ps1 games more. Might have been credit gold there. Not saying there was as I couldn’t really tell what was there. £10 is a good gamble. Just for credit alone the controllers probably give you your money back. If you are able to Frankenstein it then even better. You don’t seem to have done to bad. Lovely figure at the end for £5
Thanks mate. I had a much better look at the PS1 stuff off camera, it was pretty bad, heavily scratched and broken cases etc, some looked like they'd been used to prop up garden tables during the winter! I defo still need to get better with my footage though. Really hoping I can fix the console, will give it a go at some point soon. As ever, thanks for the support and happy gaming 😃
Great pickups matey. Not sure if it was intentional but that cutaway at 5:35 as you reached for ridge racer 7 was great. That part made me proper laugh when you said there's some amazing amazing games on the Wii then you show my horse and me 2 lol. Brilliant..
Thanks so much mate. I'm really enjoying the editing side of all this, but boy is it taking me a long time, and I know I have a lot left to learn. So, we saying My Horse & Me 2 isn't doubly amazing??? I've got it primed to feature in my top ten games I've played this year video 🤣
Superhot is a great game even without vr
Yeah, I've always wanted to play it on anything, can't believe it's taken me so long! Thanks for watching and happy gaming 😃
Great idea! South Park will always suck as a game. Chef luv shack sucks as well. Although South Park rally is horrible to control, I think it is faithful to the cartoon. Did I see me appear in this video? 🤣 Glad your over 100 subs. Hopefully your channel will continue to grow
I used to have Chef's Luv Shack, no idea what happened to it, but yes, it was bad! Don't think I've ever played South Park Rally. Thanks for watching and happy gaming mate 😁
@@soupofpantsgaming if you want a frustrating kart racer then South Park rally has you covered 🤣 With luv shack I just didn’t understand why the questions asked were so obscure. In the South Park game you played, did you know you could piss on the snow balls before throwing them? At least with bullet witch, if it’s not for you, now is the time to trade or sell it 🤣 get a better game instead. Look forward to more in the series
@@feedmechicken I completely forgot about the peeing on the snowballs, to be honest it was a bit of a rushed play just to grab a bit of footage so I could get on to Dragon Spirit! 🤣 I was considering just that with Bullet Witch earlier today, I'm a terrible collector and often trade stuff on to keep my collection feeling fresh. ...I missed the bottom part of your first message as I didn't notice the 'read more' button... That was Gizzard! Maybe a family member? 🤣 Thank you for the kind words, I'm hoping I can keep the channel growing too, I'm still pretty new and learning a lot with every video. Really pleased you like the series, many thanks and happy gaming 😁
Great mini review's. Outrun 2006 is an amazing game. Definitely my favorite outrun game. I really enjoyed bullet witch for what it was. It needed more work but i still had fun playing through it. I like how some folk call it a bad bayonetta clone. This came out 3 year's before bayonetta lol. So bayonetta is basically a superior bullet witch. Very similar idea's. Dead eye jim is one I've never heard of. One i won't ge getting soon lol.
Many thanks mate. I haven't played Bayonetta for years, think it was on the list when I did this, so who knows, maybe next time! For a moment I thought she was trolling me when she called Dead Eye Jim out! Felt it ended it all on a bit of an anticlimax, but never mind 😆 Thanks for watching and happy gaming 😃
Great idea and approach.. Outrun.. What a game
Many thanks mate. Outrun certainly is amazing. Happy gaming 😁
Bullet witch was so annoying to get that last 1g gamerscore on a complete insane difficulty... But this game was actually really good.
That's cool, I just really couldn't get into it. Many thanks for watching and happy gaming 😀
@@soupofpantsgaming it was a game for its time mate, going back playing it now... Doesn't give it much props, but back then it was a good low budget game that now has a cult following & we want a second one 👍
@@WolfGaming1995ITRueConsoleWars Makes perfect sense mate, was thinking it's the sort of game that could gather a cult following. I only played it for the first time 2-3 years back so I've no real nostalgia for it. I could get behind the idea of a second one though 😁
@soupofpantsgaming it is a nice 1000g on your gamer list lol the second one should of come out at the launch of the xbox one and it would of been perfect for the 2nd one 👌
@@WolfGaming1995TRueIConsoleWars Well done with the 1000g, impressive, I suck at fully completing games. I try from time to time but always get sidetracked and lose focus 😅
Can't buy much from cex with £10 these days
I hear you there! Looking forward to doing another one of these but with each one it's likely to get a little harder! Many thanks for watching and happy gaming 😁
Great pickups mate.
Many thanks and happy gaming 😃
Hey buddy subscribed because of Paul (akaRudi) Retro mania. Retro Mania is always adding tonnes of stuff all the time. So nice too see collector's helping eachother.
Thanks so much. It's such an awesome shop. Figured any exposure I can give is a good thing . Think it's really important us collectors do all we can to support independent shops like this. Can't wait to get back over that way and see what new bits there are 😁
I don't know if you own it already but it's one of my favourite FPS games on the 360/PS3. It's like Bioshock but with time mechanics instead. Singularity. Incredible game!
Hi. Picked it up a month or so back, haven't yet played it, but am really looking forward to giving it a go, it sure looks awesome. Many thanks for watching and happy gaming 😃
Hi Soup. Just stumbled across your channel. Great quality along with super presentation… Nice channel man 🤟🏻
Many thanks, think your channel is awesome too, happy gaming 😁
First time stumbling across you. Great video! Keep it up!
Many thanks for watching and supporting the channel, happy gaming 😃
full auto does have a manual...
Yeah, I'll keep an eye out for one. Many thanks and happy gaming 😁
Did someone say PlayStation pick ups? 👀 I had to click, great video pants. You’ve gained a new subscriber ✌🏻
Thanks mate, much appreciated, love your channel too. Happy gaming 😁
@@soupofpantsgaming anytime mate 👍🏻
Great pickups. I love the Fall of Juarez series. Especially bound in blood. Being a big fan of cowboy western movies these games definitely appealed to me.
Thanks mate, looking forward to giving them a go sometime 😄
Nice, Dumfries & Galloway isnt a stones throw away from me. My mother-in-law is from Wigtown 👍 Crash Nitro Kart is a banger 👌 Not a fan of MP8, MP2 is our fav. Superstars is ace also on the switch. Found you through the legend FeedMeChicken 👍
That's awesome, I've been to Wigtown, just not this last time 😃 Must confess I got rid of MP1 & 2 on N64 due to fear of controller damage! I should probably check out Superstars sometime. @feedmechicken - Legend! 😁 Many thanks and happy gaming.
