How To Build a Mini Bass
Переглядів 264Рік тому
What do you do when you have a 3 year old student who is too small for a 1/32nd size double bass? You build a smaller bass of course! We took a 1/4 size cello and tried several different string combinations to get the best most authentic bass sound, tuning in 4ths like a regular double bass. We also swapped out the cello pegs to make tuning easier. How to details are at the end of the video. An...

Season's Greetings from The Bass Church
Myra's jig is seriously addictive. Great stuff! Pigeon on bull fiddle is pretty great too.
Nice!!! Suzuki Piano Book II isn't _that_ fun! :)
@@incawarrior Bass players definately have all the fun!
Heartbreakingly beautiful, Anna
Beautiful!!
Great video. Enjoyed your positive interactions with your students.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome! And now that tune is stuck in my head. Was that the plan? Cuz it worked!
Yes of course that was the plan! Time for you to get a bass and start lessons :)
Wow! I love this so much. Beautiful arrangement, and beautiful playing! ❤❤❤
Thank you Heather!
I was looking for this , thank you.
hauntingly beautiful. Congratulations!
Tremendous.
Thank you, dear Kate!
Bravo! Wonderful, wonderful composition!
It is so sad, yet so beautiful. The Composer Notes has flown out special and memorable words.
Beautiful and sad piece. Loved the composer's story. We all had a break in our work to think and contemplate and change.
🧡🧡🧡
Richly meditative, and such gorgeous reverberant textures. Bravo.
Love the composition !! Powerful and reflective in a way. Love how the lines intertwined! And how the different sections create the different emotional dynamics . Wonderful piece of music !
how much is it?
Merry Christmas 🎶🎵
Happy birthday Beethoven. Top stuff everyone. So good to see the clip on UA-cam.

It sounds great.
Yes, and that video was from the first hour of sound from the instrument. It is opening up every time it gets played. Can't wait to hear it in 10-20 years.
Yes, and this video is the very first sound from the instrument. It has really opened up over the first week of being played. Can't wait to hear it in 10-20 years!
Great!
Anna, I have a similar story of finding the Bultler bass book in a pile of music books being recycled by the Lamont School of Music, Denver University.
Always nice to find some fresh material outside of the standard repertoire. This play along channel came about when all of my lessons went virtual, a good alternative to playing together live with my students.
Crazy stuff -- so original -- great band name -- I love it!
Everybody has such beautiful bow holds. How do you do it? Specifically, keeping their elbows down and preventing the pinky collapsing?
We do a lot of open strings and stay with the Suzuki Twinkle variations as long as is necessary to get a relaxed bow arm. If you take care of it at the very beginning everything else falls into place :)
WG has a great ear and excellent technique for such a young player. Has come a long way since little fiddle in July 2017.
Yes, he is a hard worker and a pleasure to teach.
This is fun!

This entire thing is just simply fantastic!
What grade would you say this is
what a classic! i played song solo in grade 5 at the talent show in front of the whole school! talk about nerves!!!! my mom made me do it, and hearing these kids play this now is so cool!!!
Awesome! Good luck!!
Nice! Left me wanting more typewriting. I guess you guys need more supervision at work. :)

Hi - are you in charge of this music class??
Yes!
I could do that anna ie write something for ya .
Very enjoyable. I loved Anna's work here; as a double bass major in music at Lewis & Clark College in the 60's, I appreciate the level of proficiency needed for this piece. I've had a long sabbatical from the bass, but this makes me want to get some lessons and start playing again. Thanks!
Love this version and style. I'm struggling with the fast part.
Very beautiful interpretation,congrats!!!
