I like to walk. Sometimes I remember to film it.
Harold Hillier Gardens, and the walk back to Winchester - Part Two - AJ UK LIVE Walks
Sir Harold Hillier Gardens is an arboretum in Ampfield, near Romsey, Hampshire. With over 180 acres, and more than 42,000 trees and shrubs, including many rare varieties, I thought I would pop over for a visit.
Of course, me being me, that means walking, and taking the scenic route whilst I'm at it. My day took me over 23.5 miles, 54,105 steps, and around 11 and a half hours on foot, from Winchester to the gardens themselves, and then back again!
This series has become something of a labour of love for me, as I have decided to put more effort into my videos, creating and adding animated maps and text. I just hope more than 10 people watch it!

Early morning - check. Beautiful day - check. Let's walk 20 miles and find some old churches, train tunnels and defensive pill boxes! Warning, possible singing inside. #countryside #hiking #uk #history

Walking from Winchester to New Alresford and back again! - AJ UK LIVE Walks

Back in March, I thought it would be amusing to walk to Alresford. It was. I originally thought about editing this to be smaller, but honestly, when you are dealing with 11 hours of footage, that's really flipping hard, so I just gave up, and here is the result.

A few months ago, I spent some time in Japan. On a few of my days there, I wandered around with no plan to see where it led me. In this video, I found Tokyo Skytree! #japan #tokyo #skytree #walk #walking #walkingtour #walkingaround #walkingvideo #hike #hiking #hikingadventures #hikinglife #hikingroutes #hikingalone #travel #travelvlog
I enjoyed how candid this video was. It’s nice to watch scripted travel content, but this is an awesome down-to-earth, natural experience. Doesn’t feel like you’re playing anything up at all. Can’t wait to watch the next part!
@@itstowersss443 Thank you! I’d never done this sort of thing before. It’s a bit janky, but I had fun 😀
Just managed to finish off all the vids in your Japan playlist 🎬 The moment the camera pans to the view at 19:35 is excellent. Make sure you vlog your next trip to Japan dude, these vids had a nice chilled vibe 👍
Thank you so much for watching! I hope you get to go soon. I’m hoping to go again around February time. Many videos will be filmed!
Glad to see you was brave enough to check out at a bar & grab a drink in this vid dude 🍺
@@Propa_Ganda_Panda Me too! Turned out to be a lot of fun. Took effort to do it though, I won’t lie 😂
@@AJ_UK_LIVE I do plan to vlog when i visit, but i've not tried any vloggin at all yet. I'm gussing the video time length only shows a smaller percentage of all the efforts you put in that we dont see
@@Propa_Ganda_Panda It does take hours and hours to edit stuff. I had so many hours of random nonsense. Making it watchable was tough. It was a lot of fun though. Japan was the first time I tried to vlog, so I have learnt a bit since.
nice vlogs dude 👍 One thing i learned from your videos is to prepare for the sound of Wind, lol. You just would never know unless you run into this issue would you.
@@Propa_Ganda_Panda 100% 😅 Sorry about that haha I have software to combat it in the edit now, but it still isn’t perfect. It was mad windy in Shibuya at times…
@@AJ_UK_LIVE nothing to apoligies for dude, was obviously unexpected and the vid was still great. i genuinley will now prepare for such things myself, its on my list, ha
@@Propa_Ganda_Panda It’s how I learn too. Watching others. I learned tons from other UA-camrs in Japan before I left.
The gardens are beautiful. Some of those trees looks hundreds of years old. Can you imagine the colour of this trees in autumn.
Really enjoying this video. The woods look amazing. I like the idea of the map droppings so we can see where you have walked.
Nice video. Keep it up!
@@James-mi5hi Thank you!
What an incredible adventure through the heart of Tokyo!
@@nowgaku I had an amazing time! Thank you for watching 😀
How long were you at the airport? Did you buy a SIM card? JR pass ?
Hi there! Once I arrived at the airport, it was very quick. I was through in less than an hour from start to finish. I didn't buy a JR pass, but I did get myself a Welcome Suica card from one of the machines. I topped it up with about 6000 yen, but needed something like 3000 more later on in the week. As for SIM card - I rented a pocket wifi from Ninja WiFi in Haneda airport. I paid for 1GB a day whilst I was there, which was a good amount. Very easy to use. Thanks for watching!
I really enjoy these types of videos where people walk and explore without all the aesthetic bs, iykwim. Just wish you had a noise cancellation for the wind there ;;
@@AAApowerlines Sorry about the wind! It was insanely windy in Shibuya, and I really struggled to film audio as you can tell! When I go back at the beginning of next year I’m hoping to have an external audio clip with a wind muffler on it. This was all done with my iPhone. Thanks for watching!
You know, when I loaded up this video to play on my second monitor, I was chilling along with the video. Then after a little bit, since I haven't seen a video from you before I decided to look at your view, subs, etc and I was utterly surprised that you only had 37 subscribers with 600 views! Your videos are phenomenal and a joy to watch! Your editing is on level with some of the bigger UA-camrs! Please keep it up! You've earned a sub!
@@AspektYT What a lovely comment ☺️ Thank you! I’ve had this channel for something like fifteen years, but I’ve never done anything with it. Japan kind of set me off into adventure mode I guess 😂 I’m currently in the middle of a 25 mile hike - in a forest somewhere… Thanks again!
日本人はみんな不思議に思っています。どうして外国人は交差点を見に来るのだろう?
😅 That’s a fair question! I think we just find it fascinating how busy it is there. I live in a very quiet place in the countryside, alongside churches that are hundreds of years old. I had never seen so many people at once before, in such a modern city. It’s quite amazing when you have never experienced it! I felt this way about many things I saw whilst in Tokyo. To me, things seem very large and busy. Thank you for watching my video 😊
Tokyo is big
Super-duper big!
I need that massage chair if you go again, can you bring me one back?
Brilliant loved every minute of every video you made of your trip to Japan
Respect for the solo travel, I plan a solo trip to Japan from the UK next March myself. I'll take the time to catch all the Japan vLogs on your channel & see how your journey turned out 👍
Thank you! I can't recommend Japan enough. It is daunting doing it on your own - especially if you don't know the language, but everyone I met was so kind and generous with their time that I didn't have any issues at all. I'm planning to go back early next year. So much to do that my 8 days was nowhere near enough!
はじめまして^ ^ 映像がとても綺麗ですね 私が知ってる東京を美しく撮ってくださってますね ありがとうございます!
Arigato! I hope to go back early next year. I love Tokyo 😀 Thank you for watching!
lol when you said you watched youtube videos and new where the stairs were, I knew the vape store was by the stairs and haven't even been to japan!!
What a world we live in! It happened so many times when I was there.
You can drink while outside. No need to conceal it. However, don't take advantage of this and go wild and do crazy things in public. Japan is resisting the situation while drinking in public. Japanese and tourists are taking advantage of the situation.
@@ducsue751 Thank you for the advice! I am not a big drinker at all. I simply had to try one of these well-known drinks and didn’t want to cause a fuss ☺️
where's the beers?

It was a great walk
Great journey.
It’s a great video. Thank you for sharing
Hi @AJ_UK_LIVE I enjoyed this vlog! The rink was so relaxing to watch. ^_^
Thank you! It was such a great place to visit. I was tempted to try skating, but I had walked so far 😂
