Discover how the city of Prato is transforming into a vibrant university town through the "Our City, Our Campus" (OCOC) project. Despite hosting three major universities and over 2500 students, the presence of university students in Prato often goes unnoticed. This project aims to change that by investigating students' experiences and aspirations, and fostering their role as agents of change in addressing the city's challenges. In the academic year 2023/2024, Monash University, the University of Florence/Polo Universitario di Prato (PIN), and the University of New Haven collaborated with the City Council of Prato to organize four participatory workshops. These workshops engaged 90 students in discussions about sustainability, cultural development, and social inclusion.
With support from Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Prato, the project is now conducting a comprehensive study to understand students' needs and attitudes towards the city. This includes online questionnaires, interviews, and focus groups with local stakeholders.
