I've been playing shapez 2 in the alpha for a while, it definitely is quite promising, and I will at the very least buy it and play through it once. I'm not yet sure how complicated optimization is going to be in the game, from what I've gathered so far it's simpler than in the first game, which would be somewhat of a bummer considering that optimization is the core thing that kept me interested in the first game for 800+ hours :D Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to the full release ^^

@@triffnix I wasn't even aware of the alpha just saw the steam page the other week :), I guess we wait to see then - and maybe modding is always an option if it falls short for you insane computer minded types, me personally I'm not that good at it, so a shiny coat of paint and some of the added complexity of building things in 3D might be nice

@@pigmentpeddler5811 visually, the game is really pleasing, and having multiple layers opens up quite a lot of possibilities. It definitely works well as a sequel, that much is for certain

The objective of any% i think is to get to the last hub shape. That means u dont need to get all upgrades. However any% can be confusing as people might think you can stop at whatever tier. So i think it should be called max% or somethin like dat

yes, that's one of the things I'm trying to in my current runs :)

most of the run follows a plan I made in advance, adapting the plan to the seed then doesn't take that much effort. The levels are always the same and the resource patches close to spawn are mostly the same for all seeds. There's a bit of variation to account for, like larger patches for stars and fish (half circle, half star). The things I build and when and in which region I build them was also planned ahead of time.

I recommend farming the cistern of slaughter. The rakks there are annoying, but you'll only have to kill a few of them. Here's what you can do: Play the cistern normally until you reach wave 4 in the final round. You will encounter multiple boss-icon Alacritous Vandas, which have the same dedicated loot as the Broodmother (Baby Maker, Scourge, Ripper). Kill them all and retreat to the elevator, which should be closed. Walk towards the wall on the left of the elevator and try getting as close to it as possible. Being close enough will reset the round, allowing you to quikly farm the Alacritous Vanda. I did that for around 40 minutes and got 4 Rippers, 3 Scourges and 2 Baby Makers.

well, your probably right, but look at this raw power! You can just run in with ghostblade + ghost and run out again with phage + Q-MovementSpeed bonus!
