One thing I found is the water needs some stain to it in the 40’s. Clear water just doesn’t seem to produce a crankbait bite. I pretty fond of a shad rap in cold water.
@@eFishin good point brother . only place I’ve seen it still clear and get bit is Cumberland . But has to be around wood cover . But you are correct stain helps . Helps them come shallow so we can catch them . Cause I believe they are feeding.
Bro i fish a jig 99 percent of the and a spinnerbait. I would like to fish a crankbait more what would you buy the bagley or the black label iam sure they are both great baits any help would be greatly appreciated thank you bro.
@@georgefaulk2268 they both catch fish . But the black label to me is easier to fish with cause it’s easier to cast. Especially in the wind .
@cliffordsreellife7323 thank you watching your videos this week the weather is so cold in north Alabama iam staying in. If you like fishing videos check out richard gene the fishing machine he is a blast have a blessed day Bro. And thank you
@@georgefaulk2268in your case I’d get the black label wreck . It’s just like using a spinerbait about the wood cover . With a crankbait.
Thank you @@cliffordsreellife7323
Bro. I wish you would buy a Rapala gripper to remove the crankbait from the fish before you get a hand full of tribles hooks be safe my friend love the videos thank you Bro.
Love this! Thanks brother! God bless!
Cliff, great video. Two question questions though. Have you tried Rapala T4’s or T7’s? If so, what was your experience
@@davidjacoboski4657 yes I have tried the t4 it’s great bait just limited to depth and cast ability . I’ve made several videos on it also . The t7 I have a few and will try them this winter also I’m sure
@@davidjacoboski4657 video with tiny4 ua-cam.com/video/ZWPYDr3W1vw/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
Have caught hundreds of bass in Kentucky on Shad Raps in water from 36 degrees to 50 degrees in winter months in both stained and clear water.
Enjoy your videos I fish the same lakes and I feel I gain a lot of useful information and you sharing your faith with others is always a blessing
@@jefferylyons4774 amen . Thankful it helps you both on the lake and points ya to Jesus .
Awesome video on the balsa crankbaits, where you get the flat balsa crankbait from?
@@user-bq9tw8lt5l I ordered it from www.bagleybait.com/ they run sales now and then . Lot of my Bagley I got there
Thanks for all your input cliff. God bless you brother.
It just started snowing here in Hurricane WV
@@NormNewsome-qh6zs thanks for the update . God bless you all
Keep it there please can’t fish like that
Ohhh i can hear in a few days ? I’m not smart enough to be stoped by snow 🤣🤣
Hey man what is me and my buddy doing wrong we fished all over where you are throwing swimbaits and minnows like that and nothing man....what are we doing
Every day is different on that lake . Very hard some days . What depth are you fishing those baits your fishing ? And what weights ? How fast are you retrieving those baits ? That would be my first ask?
@cliffordsreellife7323 Man we fish those things from very shallow all the way to 40 and 50 feet even if we see fish on live scope we will drop it right in front of them or right in the middle of them and twitch it and they will look and go on or if we see fish jump we will grab a jerkbait and cast past them and jerk and jerk and nothing I guess we're not holding our mouths right lol
Yes sir that’s a good one!
👍👍👍
Very nice catch!

Thank you Cliff. Do you still go when the water temps get below 40? If so what baits do you like to throw besides a jerkbait, and jig? Wishing you and the family a Joyful and healthy New year!! God Bless ❤

@@jimbeavers9723 well thanks brother . God bless you also. I love making them .
Thanks for posting! Great pics of the bobcat and excellent review of the eye crosser. Thank you for showing the bend and action in the tip of the rod too. Great video.
@@AstrosErin your welcome . Though of you when used it today. God bless you
Beautiful. Harmon creek?
@@bobmorrow2957 near there . But I was on main lake
Amen 🙌🙏
would you say this rod would suffice for 1/2oz jigs and 1/4-1/2oz T rigs around docks and light cover? I'm using the head turner with 3/8oz jigs and on occasion get schooled by a bigger fish. I just want something with a shade more back bone or power to pull them out a bit quicker when I need to.
@@AstrosErin probly not . This does have a medium flex to it . I have drug 3/4 football jigs handled it well but those have a smaller diameter hook . Those 1/2 flipping jigs have a big gage wire hook . I haven’t used it much for that. But I do have a falcon cross eye rod probly do more what your looking for . It’s a frog rod /heavy spinnerbait.
@@cliffordsreellife7323 I’m glad you mentioned that. I was looking at that specific model and the falcon rep suggested it was too stiff for skipping and pitching docks. If it has just enough tip to sling jigs around docks and tight cover I think I might grab one.
@@AstrosErinI use a heavy gloomis rod most time for heavy cover jigs . And hack attack heavy cover swimjigs . That eye crosser is just like those gloomis rods . It has a little bit of tip.
I used the eye crosser today with a jig ? I love it . Figured I’d show ya . ua-cam.com/video/O9ALMHR1bcA/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
Below I used the eye crosser rod today
Great Rod description, one of the best I’ve seen on the importance of the rod tip. The high power X spiral wrapped blank keeps the rod from twisting and torsion. I can’t spend that much on a rod so I’m stuck with my Exprides and my Falcon Cara 6-174 heavy cover jig rod but really like both of them for Swimjigs and flipping jigs
@@RyanSmith-fb8rfthanks . I sold it cause of the cost as well and have a falcon dragger and a 2 crackers now lol but it was a sweet rod
X marks fish catchin machine..lol
@@NormNewsome-qh6zs hahahahah yes sir 🤣

@@georgefaulk2268 thank you for this brother . Blesses me to see these kind of messages. I love Jesus more but fishing is a joy to me . Jesus has combined them for me . Maybe we can reach few more souls before he returns . God bless you.
@cliffordsreellife7323 yes sir I pass out gospel track at the bank and talk to people about salvation in are LORD and SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST the LORD is my first LOVE HE is everything to me Amen
I think this was me that asked this a bit ago. Thanks for taking the time to make this video, very helpful!
You’re welcome! God bless you.
Seems like I need to rethink my winter cranking. I normally target 8-15+ ft deep, but you are having success throwing cranks in 4-5ft in the winter!
@@toddlester8063 some lakes I fish are shallower . Average of 25 ft deep .But what I have learned is fish even in winter that are 10 ft or less are feeding. Even at a big lake like Cumberland . And water clarity and sky condition has lot to do with it .
@@toddlester8063 also a crankbait isn’t in 15 for more then 1/2 the cast most times . And the speed to get a crankbait down usually doesn’t get bit cause moves to fast . In my experience anyways .
@@cliffordsreellife7323 I might pick a few of them up. Maybe a couple standard and a few MR ones. I always have like fishing the DT6, DT8, and the Frittside 7.
Thanks for the video.. I'm going have to get me some of those. They look a lot like a bagly bait
@@NormNewsome-qh6zs I’ve used the Bagley balsa b . And they are good . But these are better I believe . Check out the wreck and the wreck jr also . I’ve got videos on both
@@NormNewsome-qh6zs ua-cam.com/video/k6SAZnji3Zo/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
