Herbie plays exceptionally well!

Thank you for posting this I have looked everywhere for it!!

My grand father was an aviator in the 8th Air Force during world war 2. He had all sorts of VCR documentaries about the war in his basement when I was young. I remember me and brother playing this one on repeat over and over growing up just amazed at these planes and their history. I’m so grateful I found this on UA-cam. I was convinced this film and the memories with it were lost to time. Thank you.

Awesome job , however I want to let you know that it seems that you have a wiper arm out of tune with the other one ? Really should get that checked out ? It's probably just a wiper arm but it's also possible that it has a bad sling sleeve ! Don't know if you noticed it but being a mechanic I happened to be the one that did ! God Bless and enjoy your holidays ! Hopefully your wiper doesn't give out when you're on rte 81 or 690

Mriya means "dream" in Ukrainian not Russian. This was because the Antonov Bureau was Ukraine-based. Russian word for "dream" (in the context of "daydream") is "mechta" . However, after the break up of USSR the Bureau produced nothing even remotely comparable to this airplane. This "dream" was possible thanks to the cooperation of a number of different ethnicities making up the USSR, and just the sheer number of designers and engineers working for the Bureau. An-224 still flies. Ukraine uses it for nationalistic propaganda purposes, despite the fact that its entire essence and history symbolizes a very different idea from nationalism.

I used to watch this show every night it was on and always loved hearing about airplanes. I'll never forget the first time I saw this episode, and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the huge AN-225. I still think it's one of the most impressive airplanes ever built.
