In our research, we found 3 broad approaches that scholars use to define robots. These are (1) as artificial humans, (2) programmable machines, and (3) machines that can sense, think, and act on the world. None of these approaches offers a definition that works for all of the ways we already use the word. But they’re a start.

Federal Agencies are semi-independent, executive bodies that are created through statute for subject-matter specific purposes. Agencies are formed by an act of Congress. Congress writes a kind of law called an “Organic Statute” that lays out the purpose and the structure of the agency. And then the agency is in charge of implementing the purpose as laid out in the statute.

Bots are automated software, designed by human programmers to do tasks on the web. Bots have been around since the beginning of the Internet. As a recent New York Times article says, bots are getting smarter and easier to create. As bots become more convincing, users and researchers need to be careful what we are being convinced of.

1:35 I was trying to work out how it made any sense that "the right page is before page 500", thinking you were referring to the literal page on the right (page 501). Saying "the _correct_ page is before page 500" would have helped with clarification for the dumb-dumbs like myself.

Regardless of whether she's a human or a bot I still want to marry her. Do they allow human/bot marriages and is age a factor with bots (ie, can I marry a bot if she's under the age of 18)?

Are you saying bots are always a negative thing? DISCLAIMER: ***I realize the things I’m asking about have been addressed. My argument is that it seems too negative leaning and doesn’t present a full picture of usefulness of bots. *** I feel like this video is lacking impartiality. What about web crawling/SEO for example to help smaller businesses get more recognition and move up in search results? Or optimization that helps so many apps and businesses with customer service, especially for people who have a hard time navigating a website and bots point them in the right direction.
