🎓 Introducing our Microprocessor-controlled Hydraulic Prosthetic Knee for Above-Knee Amputees! We are thrilled to share our Graduation Project from the Mechatronics Department, Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, completed with an outstanding A+ grade.

🔧Mechanical System Design
Our precision-engineered slider-crank mechanism ensures natural and fluid user movement. The hydraulic damper, expertly controlled by throttle valves using servomotors to regulate the pressure drop, guarantees unparalleled stability and a dynamic user experience in our prosthetic knee
⚡Electrical and Electronic System Design
At the core of our innovation lies a robust electronic system. We developed a custom PCB, elevating the control system's reliability and efficiency. Furthermore, powering our innovative prosthetic knee is an advanced Battery Management System (BMS) utilizing the BQ76925 Module. This cutting-edge system monitors voltage, current, and temperature, ensuring optimal performance and safety for the entire prosthetic knee.
🧠Embedded System Design
In the heart of the electronic system, our crafted embedded system whose microcontroller is tm4c1237h based on Arm Processor, drivers enable seamless communication with various hardware peripherals, including Sys. Clock, GPIO, UART, I2C, SPI, PWM, and TIMER. This integration ensures efficient control and coordination between components, enhancing the overall functionality of the prosthetic knee.
🎛️Control System Design
The intelligence behind our knee lies in the control system design. Based on a finite state machine and advanced sensors like IMU, Load Cell, and Encoder, our control algorithm provides a smooth and natural gait, ensuring stability and confidence during various activities for amputees.
📱Mobile Application
Complementing the embedded and control systems, our StepMate App takes user interaction to new heights. Developed with Flutter in Android Studio, this user-friendly application empowers users to monitor daily activities, customize knee behavior, and achieve personalized fitness goals. Seamlessly switch between different modes and tailor the experience to individual preferences and activities.
