I would never sign to get a Fundoplication for whatever reason if my intention was to get linx.. Sounds like you got scammed man, which for me is sad to see. The fundoplication is a good procedure, but who knows how long it will remain tight, while the hernia repair and linx, you know it's gonna stay for life, well unless the 0.1 percent chance of it eroding into the Esophagus, but everything is a risk right?

Thanks for making the video! Synopsis: he went in thinking he was getting the Linx, they couldn't fit one around his big esophagus so they did the Nissen fundiplication instead. He tried eating a banana and almost choked, have to eat liquid diet at first until you are more confident you can swallow.

Man, I’m about to have mine in six days and I do have the instructions of liquid for two weeks and then so on so on so I’m so sorry that happened to you. I’m worried about how I’m supposed to take medication because you can’t swallow anything. I hope you’re all better now.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I can’t believe how neglectful your doctor and the staff was in this. You could have really hurt yourself due to the negligence. I would look into doing something about this. Especially for the future of other people they will work on. My surgeon has thoroughly discussed this surgery and my diet restrictions. I haven’t even had the surgery yet. I’m so glad you are doing so well.

Im glad your OK shoking is very scary. I've been iron defient anemia for 3 years. I've had alot of test done to find out where Im bleeding from. I just found out I have a large ,5cm hernia with several Cameron erosions. That's where I've been bleeding from. Im looking for a good surgeon. I've been watching all these videos.

I’ve been watching videos concerning hiatal hernia surgery as well and just came across yours, thank you for sharing! I hope that you’re doing better at this point beyond your surgery. I’ve got a hiatal hernia as well and did the bagel/marshmallow test and just did the esophageal manometry test this week, not fun! This is to help my surgeon determine which surgery is best for me and if Linx will work. It’s been a long struggle with all the health issues and I can certainly empathize with you John. Sorry you had issues during your process and I’m appreciative of what you shared as it will help me go through mine. All the best!
