I think they're very beautiful and it's nice to have some extra space not to be crowded up on each other. 😊😎 Better than living next to a dump All the construction is not as good as it was at years past whether the house is large or small town home or condo you're not going to have the same level of construction materials that they used years ago.
I think if someone was an expert architect, they would be interested in how well the house was designed for the climate. What was the quality of the materials? Is the house just a scam to make the owner look like they have more money than they do? I think there is far more important architecture components to consider beyond the design. Design is like art and very opinionated. For example, some people think heavy metal is better than classical. Well, I would never say that because music is an art form no matter how annoying it could be. I would say I like classical but am addicted to metal music! 🧐
I guess some people dont have any interest in architecture or design, in which case if these houses make them happy who can blame them. However what they dont realise is how much happiness a neat, efficient, well thought-out design can bring.
My mom loves these houses. She always insists on driving by and she's all agog saying "I wonder what they do for a living?!?" like it's movie star homes and I have to say "mom, they're in debt up to their eyeballs and the inside of their house looks like crap, so relax". Sheesh.
Okay i get why people hate these houses, i used to live in one actually, and i loved the interior and i didnt give a shit about the exterior. Then i moved to some suburban modern house which looks good i guess, but i feel is so much smaller and I would rather live in an McMansion
2:00 perfect example. Cobblestone should be on streets not houses, but then again, I HATE cobblestone on streets messin' up my tires and making me go BUMP in the day and night. lol however if I inherited one I would move in before the ink was dry on the agreement!
i dont get why people need to hate on successful people who want to buy these houses. people say that people who buy these houses are “pretentious” but i think the real pretentious ones are the self proclaimed architects who are judging these people for liking a certain style of house. grow up and let people do what makes them happy.
It's funny you see these huge, grand houses, but then old Mazdas and Buicks in the driveways.... Anyway, these are definitely McMansions. Just because they are nicely spaced with pretty landscaping doesn't exclude them. You can tell they are by the amount of mismatched windows, excessive roofs, two story front entryways, and pointless columns.
These aren't McMansions though. Most of them are just standard Mansions. A few of them had too much stone, or architectural flaws but nothing intense enough to name it a McMansion.
How do you define a standard mansion? Perhaps what you think of as a mansion would actually be considered a McMansion. Generally mansions are a blue blood thing. Blue bloods have taste. These houses don't have taste.
As the expression goes, the McMansions here look like "houses on steroids." Some of these houses are just plain ugly, while others might have been attractive if they had been smaller.
Some of them look like that some of them don’t. It’s the mixture of different styles that makes them look a bit off. The roofs look too excessive. These don’t look cheaply built though. Well at first glance

The red house at 2:43 looked ok. Then again, I didn't get a full view of it.
what is the title of the song ?
They are all so pretty. This is the neighborhood my grandfather lives in. It is called Pinehurst in Enola, PA.
Somebody jealous as hell!!!
Yeah me. I was always wanted a home like one of these. Now I'm not so sure.
Not everyone likes or wants a big house, especially not an atrocious, ugly monstrosity like many of the houses in this video.

I see huge buildings of highly dubious architectural style -- probably built as cheaply as possible, behind their pretentious facade.
