As a Jayhawks fan I’ll tell you this kid is special. I think he’ll definitely become the go to scorer for the Aussie National team in the future. I remember he was 6’6 when KU signed him and now he looks like a full 6’9-6’10. Great shooter, great in transition, great cutter, great rebounder for a wing, and you can tell he’s working on “his bag” with that crossover step back 3. I don’t know how y’all feel, but the thing that pisses me off the most about Ben Simmons is he’s never played for his country. I know he’s not the future NBA MVP we used to think he could become. But he’d make a big difference as a PF for your National team. The size, athleticism, defense, rebounding , and passing are still there. And it would be so dope if Kyrie decided to play for Australia. He was born in Melbourne. That would really shake things up a bit… something Kyrie likes to do lol. Him, Simmons, Furphy, Dyson, Giddey, Thybulle, Green, Exum, Reath, and Landale would make a tough team. Tyrese Proctor will be a 1st round pick next year and I heard about a legit 7’3 prospect for next year’s draft as well. Rocco Zikarsky? Looks like he might be the best center prospect in the draft. And there’s some young guys like Luke Travers and Isaac Humphries and I’m sure some NBL vets that would fill out the roster pretty nicely. If all those guys played they could give any country a run for their money.

Bro, Arterio Morris would have changed the whole dynamic of that team. Of course all of his SA charges were dropped. But Self kicked him off the team just because of the accusation and I don’t totally blame him, it can be a bad look for your program. Furphy would have had so much more room to work. He was limited because he was the only dude who could confidently shoot the 3. Our offense was clogged up. We needed one more guy who could space the floor and also just straight up have a bag and be able to get a bucket all by himself. We fixed that this year getting Zeke Mayo, Ryland Griffin, and Storr is pretty much taking Johnny’s place. Despite Hunter, it would have been Johnny’s team this year, but now it’ll be AJ Storr’s team. They HAVE to bench KJ. Hunter and KJ just don’t work together. AJ is a perfect college small ball 4. Honestly I’m kinda glad Furphy left. I think his game is better suited for the pros than college. I think Storr will be more impactful at the college level this season (1st team All-American level player) than Furphy would be…. maybe it’s the physical maturity or he’s got a degree of swag and confidence that Furphy doesn’t have yet.
