Most of us use Freedom Ropes on the sand. There's other brands, but freedom ropes pass the test for hundreds/thousands of uses per rope when used properly.. and the owners are local and donate a portion of the proceeds to keeping the dunes open, because govt leadership is trying to close it so they can repurpose it for big business

Thanks appreciate you. There was concrete foundation. I got the auger as close to the house as I could for that post. I'm not a professional, but we're happy with the result. We're gonna expand the fence sometime in the next few months to be even with the front of the house, so we have fenced parking for the boat, my truck and possibly a future camping trailer. That part with the filler piece will likely be taken out or I'm gonna put that panel on hinges with a latch perhaps. I actually started with that panel as the first one, so no real way to measure it wrong

@@805BeachRecoveries nice. I have a similar situation and just bolted a 2x4 to the wall with hinges on it to hold up one half of a gate. Got a PVC post with hinges holding up the other half of the gate. The gate is basically 2 doors that open up saloon style. Just painted the 2x4 the same color as the wall so it blends in. I think it looks less weird that way instead of having a PVC post next to a house wall.

@@crabjoe it's good. It's an electric AWD so you can't lock the differentials, so don't expect extreme.. but as long as you air down to 15psi all around, lock it into one of the lower gears like 1 or 2 and turn off traction control (and maybe vsc), you should be perfectly fine. The sand at the Oceano dunes is very fine soft powder sand. Much different than most beaches. I'd trust the rav4 hybrid as long as you air down before you get into trouble. Sand driving is also dependent on the driver and experience with sand driving.

@@V8AmericanMuscleCar it's real good. The only downside is if you get in a situation where you have 0 traction on one tire, you have to know how to feather the brake to get it to engage.

I lost one of the twist nuts on the metal bowl that pops the kernels. It worked itself lose. I took one from somewhere else, just need to go to the hardware store one day lol
