The three years at Bluecoats and the four years in Drum Corps have been the best summers I've ever had. Thank you to all the instructors and friends who have helped and supported me these past few years. I definitely could not do this without all of you!
To the 2019 Bluecoats, thank you so much for putting your all through everything we did all season! We pushed the DCI activity and also created the best Bluecoats that the organization has ever fielded. I cannot express how grateful and proud I am for all your efforts.
To any future Bluecoats or member of DCI: DO IT! You will never regret participating in such an amazing activity. You will get friends of a lifetime and learn skills that are applicable everywhere in life! Drum Corps is truly an experience of a lifetime that I firmly believe everyone should experience.

As a fan I really enjoyed your show. I enjoyed the voyage you all took the audience on every time you performed. It's sad that you couldn't take the win with this show, it REALLY deserved it. In now what would be post 2020 season, knowing that an entire season just never happened. Makes me look back and keep hope that once again we will be able to enjoy more shows like this from your organization.

Any tips for a new mello player? Any tips for the different mouthpiece from french horn? (I learned horn before mello) I’m switching from a completely different from previous years i’ve marched, and i just wanted to know what to expect!
With my experience the mello is much easy to play than French horn because the mouthpiece size because it's like a trumpet and it's easier to get different ranges quicker
this is like the only bass cam I’ve seen in dci ever lol
The bow at the end playing in finals must be the craziest experience of anyone’s life

Carter Allison we use custom Bluecoats Mouthpieces from Hammond Design. I’ve used the MP6 from Hammond before and it’s a pretty solid choice.

You’ve gotten me excited seeing as I’m switching to mellophone
It makes me sad to see you age out but also makes me happy about how much you have improved in your 3 years in the bluecoats, and that really inspired me to keep on pushing and never give up on my drum corps dream. You and Chris Marziliano have inspired me to keep on doing band and not to lay in bed while looking at the ceiling, about 11 months ago I wanted to quit my marching band program because I told myself I wasn't good enough and didn't have enough skills and started to compare myself to my friends who were better than me, until I saw your 2018 headcam and Chris M 2018 headcam and I felt a bit motived and decided to practice on the things I needed to work on. Even though I never met you in person, I still have your mellophone from the 2018 program and it sometimes reminds me of motivation whenever I feel down, but I would like to thank you for being my motivation throughout my 2019 year and made me the person who I am to this day.

Pretty late on this, but there’s a pretty large chunk of members across the organization that are native to Japan and fly out to the US just to compete. Team Japan (or Nihon) is somewhat of a movement they started to acknowledge that.
