Southern Pacific Bear Creek Division
United States
Приєднався 1 лип 2016
This is a fictitious Division of the Southern Pacific Railroad. The layout is 6 X 12 with an 8 foot yard module extension. It is a modular railroad. The track is code 100 on the main and code 83 in the yards. Main track 1 is 3 inches from the edge of the layout and main 2 is 5 inches from the edge. The curve radius outside main is 34 inches and the inside main is 32 inches. Outside main curve starts 2 inches from the edge of the corner module and inside main starts 1 inch from the edge of the corner module. I use an NCE SB5 power booster as a power source. I model the following: Southern Pacific, Amtrak, and the ATSF. SPSF loco's make an appearance from time to time. The Woodland Modular Railroad Club meets at my house to run their locomotives. The German Shepard you see from time to time is Pixie. Thanks for watching.

Woodland Modular Railroad A Look Back
Переглядів 132День тому
A look back at 2005 when the club was building a big layout. Unfortunately the Mall got new owners and we had to move out. The video at the end is very poor quality. I had a cheap camera that I used. Thanks for watching....see you on the flip side.

Tom's little 70ton switcher. A Bachman GE. He left it for me to lube. So I ran it! It gets plenty of use. I even switch the sugar mill with it. Thanks for watching.

Awesome! Thank you!
Nice looking layout. Nice running session, thanks for sharing. Dave
Thanks for watching
Good job on the switch replacement! Looks smoother than before. Flex track really does allow for some cool customizations.
Yes it does!
Super. Athearn Bluebox locomotives still make up about 25% of my locomotive fleet, with many of them approaching their 50th birthday on my railroad. They also operate quite well outside in the rain and snow, and acquire a nice patina over time that makes them look very realistic. Hello from the Tracy Mountain Railway in Colorado. 💙 T.E.N.
I love the blue box locomotives. I have lots of spare parts. They are easy to work on! Thanks for watching.
Nice look back at the progress, thanks for sharing 👍🏾
Very cool video-documentary! If you have more of those, put them online, regardless of quality. I remember those days. Although I wasn't part of the railroad modeling scene at the time, whenever I took my family to the mall we would stop by and watch the trains. My children were very young, only 3-5 years at the time and they loved watching the trains.
Glad you enjoyed it
Did you ride on the Sacramento Northern? Also does the museum have any of the catenary driven locos the Sacramento Northern used back in the day?
Those are at the Western Railway Museum near Fairfield. The club did an outing there years ago. But this train is in Old Sacramento. Fred and I are docents at the California State Railroad Museum. We were working on the train Saturday.
Nice run of locomotives! You got a nice fleet of Amtrak locos. I need to get one of those FP-9's for my Cal Trains consist.
those torpedo boat GP9s are nice. I need to get it running.
@@randyj6245 not FP-9 the Amtrak EMD F59PHI
I had 2 of them at one time. Not sure what happened to the other F59PHI.
Great job Randy
Thanks David
Like that CNW Geep Randy.
Thanks it is sweet!
Did you swap decoders? I love them but wish they had better motors.
No I used the same decoder. It just needed a lube job. You are right about the motors!
Cool new loco!
Thanks. Tom has another one. It ran better than this one till I lubed it.
@@randyj6245 Off topic but worth mentioning. I recently found online maps of Woodland, CA dating back to 1896 at the Library of Congress. I reviewed about a dozen maps and found some cool things and confirmed some theories I had about our local line. But I no longer believe that Woodland had a roundhouse. Seems like the Southern Pacific roundhouses were in Sacramento. Maybe also somewhere north of Tehama. I am putting together foils of my find and will share at the next meeting.
That will be great! See you then!
Mot, Derf and Ydnar running trains! :)
When Fred, I mean Derf gets his n scale up and running he will have n scale run days!
Meeting tomorrow night! Mot is bringing beer! LOL!
@@randyj6245 I will be there!
ok
Very nice layout and keep up the excellent work and i hope to get back to work on my train table
It is fun, thanks you will enjoy your layout as well
Nice! 😊
Thanks! 😄
Great update Randy, much progress.👍🏾
Thanks 👍It is fun doing this and making the layout better!
That looks great .... I ended up using fine natural sand from Amazon 👍
Great tip! I like that idea!
@@randyj6245 it was much cheaper than buying ballast 😁
Ballast is looking good!
Thanks!
Just another tricky day on the line!
The trees look great! Nice running session.
Thanks, they need an arborist to trim them....lol!
That tank fell over in a strange way
The south wind did it....glad to see you tonight!
You need to put rice on that table.
Looks like expanding the layout on the inside would make for a difficult reach? ‘I give up’ 🤣🤣. I’ve felt that way many times. 😀
I will build everything before putting it in place. Then we will drop those sections in place. If I decide to do it. But you are right, it would be a difficult reach. My yard is a far reach to get to those cars. Didn't think that through before doing it. When things go wrong it sucks to reach over and fix the problem! I need a fog horn! LOL! Have a great day Fred!
Good idea about prebuild expansion . I have a ‘grabber’ to retrieve derailed cars in hard to the reach section on my layout.
Nice static steamer displays…
Thank you. I love how it turned out
👍😀OperateOnOperator
They actually looks really good back to back, despite being from wildly different eras.
That is very true! Thanks for watching
Wow. Beautiful work! 👍👍👍
Yes it is. To bad my layout does not look like this! LOL!
Cool train ride!
Thank you very much! We are docents at the museum and work on that train.

Thanks Fred. It has been a busy few days. Watching the Big Boy roll by on Sunday was Awesome! To bad that video could not show the feeling of it. You knew you saw something great when it went by!
